If you have a NAS, that have 10GbE, you for sure want to go with the X670E instead! - I have gone even further, going 2x10GbE SFP+ instead, one for my own PC, and one for my "server" WOW so happy to transfer files between them with that awesome speed :) (No need for switch btw, just put in SFP+ cables from PC1 to PC2 and your up and running, just remember to use another range then your Ethernet to the WLAN)
About Wi-Fi, that is 100% NO GO here at my place. To insecure!
USB4 is SO GREAT! I use it for my external NVMe disk! I always need more and more space, and with USB4 that is no longer an issue).

Dr Pain, love the name ;) Yes! I completely agree. My current NAS (QNAP TS-451) only supports 2x 1gb NICs, which I'm using both but I would LOVE to upgrade my network to 10gb. I do like your idea of going directly from an SFP+ card in my system to one on the NAS while still keeping your 10gb NIC port available for everything else.
As for Wi-Fi, do you mean inconsistent vs insecure? I have an enterprise cyber security background and from what I know, WEP3 is pretty darn secure.
I'll have to try using USB4 for an external NVMe drive. You have some great points in your post, so I'm going to pin it. Thanks for the suggestions!

USB4 is based on the Thunderbolt protocol so it is compatible with Thunderbolt, one thing that can distinguish them is the cables because Thunderbolt 4 must reach 40Gbps and the minimum for USB 4 is 20Gbps, but if the manufacturer wants it, maybe 40Gbps
Asus Proart's previous AM4 B550 and X570 boards had Thunderbolt
I am surprised that the B650 has been deprived of USB4 and has only 10Gbps USB

@John Charette I had trust issues with asus and the choices they made on the boards with pcie bandwidth sharing on expansion slots was a no go. (X670e-e in particular). I actually started with a x670e aorus master from gigabyte but it died in 2 days so decided to give msi a try. (CC was great honoring their return policy btw they just checked the board to confirm it was dead and I was on my way). A lot of the reviewers are saying the msi mpg carbon x670e is one of the best bang for buck boards without any odd bandwidth sharing and great pcie expansion slot location. The only downside of the msi is it doesn't have usb4 or tb built in which I didn't particularly care about.

USB4 is basically Thunderbolt 3 with an different Name and some additional Features = If you have an TB3 capable Laptop it should work with USB4 at high speed .
To my NAS i have a direct 40 Gbit SFP+ connection , you can get used 40 Gbit Server cards for 30-50 Dollar each . The biggest advantage of RDNA4 Cards will be that they will be PCIe5.0 , you dont need 16 Lanes PCIe5.0 for the GPU = 8 Lanes are enough and you can use the other 8 Lanes for other stuff like high speed NICs

I don't use PC wifi as my entire building/office is wired for 5GB ethernet as well as network printer connections. For security/ComSec reasons I dont use Wifi. I also have a Me Built NAS on site so that 5GB is going to outperform the 1 or 2.5. Right now the 5 is doing me good so I'll leave it alone right now. I haven't looked at the schematic of these two boards but usually the X boards have a better chipset and your 2nd M.2 slot isn't halfed down (and as long as your CPU has the threads to feed extra PCI lanes) and tend to run better if you lean on that 2nd and 3rd M.2 slot.

@@levraichris3321 you can plug it, but your pc will never ever be able to use al that bandwidth because there is nothing in the world u can download at 10000GB per second
the purpose of the 10gbit ethernet plug on a motherboard is to daisy chain with other machines so u can run multiple nodes eg for rendering, or connect ur local machine to your own server cluster.
1 Gyga is way massive already, where then hell do you think you can download 1000GB per second from?.... if u want fast internet you need your ping to be super low eg below 3 millseconds... having even a trillion GBN internet doesnt make u have faster internet.
not sure why u got 10Gygainternet for... unless u have 100 computers all simultaneously connected to the internet in ur place. all going through one single line.

Is does support corsair icue link?

The motherboard itself doesn't have any RGB lighting, so you can't change anything. You can absolutely still use the software to control any Corsair products, you just won't be able to change any RGB on the motherboard, as their are none.

@@JohnLCharette it's a solid state drive (SSD). Hard (disk) drives (HDD) have a spinning disk inside. It's older technology and no HDD with an Nvme interfaces are being made

Interesting. When looking at SSDs these days, a lot of them still mention NVMe in their title. Example: www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-t700-ssd "Feel the rush of extreme performance with the Crucial T700 Gen5 NVMe® SSD."

The X670E is obviously the better board, but given my needs, I picked the B650. What's your concern?
