    Nice video; nice, calm, confident voice with no extra fluff; anti-seize all around. cross pattern tightening. If you were a shop, you would never run out of customers. Thumbs up.

    Thanks, my 2008 Toyota Highlander front rotor was seized 100%, I hammered and beat on it like mad, went to HD and brought two M8 1.25 screws.. thanks for giving the correct size screws to use, and that did the trick.. and I live in N. Calif with no rust..

    I love that you showed how hard this stuff can be so people don't think it's as easy as you make it look (and how it usually is) to do a front brake job.

    Seriously thank you for showing a real life crappy rusty nasty mess of a brake job it rather than a pristine perfect new parts thing that none of us would ever see when we pull the wheels off our cars thank you thank you thank you

    Thank you sir great video.
    A thing I have found that came in real handy, if the caliper won’t fit because the 2 pistons are pushed out, just take the old brake pad, place a c-clamp on the outside of the pad and the caliper and slowly turn the clamp until the pistons level with the caliper. Works great and no draining of fluid involved.
    God Bless!!!!

    Great video for dealing with rusted on rotors - definitely not exclusive to a Highlander. Had to deal with this once and now always put a thin layer of anti-seize compound where the hub and rotor touch. Stops/limits rust from forming and rotors come off very easily years later.

    Great video,the only part I do not do is use brake grease on the ends of the pads they slide on stainless steel hardware they need no lube this only holds brake dust and road grim creating sticking and uneaten ware,other than that excellent video 👍👏👏

    Before compressing the piston, clean it and lube it with silicone based lube. Otherwise grime goes back under the boot.

    Does it matter if you put the copper anti seize or brake grease on clips and ears of brake pads

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  4 года назад

      +Loren Fok Thanks for watching! You do not want to use a lot of grease, so we recommend applying it to the brake pad ears or clips only.

    • @lorenfok1097
      @lorenfok1097 4 года назад

      Sorry I word my question in correctly. What I meant to ask is you use brake grease for the pads ears. Can you also use copper anti seize?

    Why you did not bleed the brake line? I thought the rule of thumb in doing brake job is whenever you replace the rotors you have to bleed it.

    Not supposed to use that type of grease on the pins

    • @BorderPaps
      @BorderPaps 2 года назад

      I don’t know what type that is, but if it’s not silicone based, it will cause the lil rubber piece (that is on the end of one of the pins) to swell and cause your brakes to stick. I use “super lube” silicone based grease for the pins. Works great on anything rubber too (such as the lil rubber washer in your garden hose).

    I bought brakes and rotors from 1a auto and my rotors make a clunking sound when switching to reverse☹️. The rotors where after market and slightly bigger ( nakamoto) than oe. Brakes were good but rotors awful.
