Least favorite is obviously the movie this cartoon was spun off of. Utter trash. Favorite varies depending on my mood, but it's frequently Final Wars, and not solely because Zilla gets casually wrecked in it. Sure doesn't hurt though. When I'm feeling masochistic, Godzilla's Revenge. Objectively terrible but nostalgic as one of those midnight movies from my youth when the whole station would go off the air right after it ended. Both versions of Godzilla vs. Kong make the list pretty often too, although the CGI one still feels kind of wrong after so many decades of suit work.
Hopefully one day, someone revive this show while bringing back some elements that made this show memorable for the audience back then. Maybe someday, the new audiences would be motivated to make that possible.
As one of the artists from the Character Design Department on the series, I thank you for the fine discussion of our series. It was great fun to work on.
@@TotallyAwesomeGeeks I will say, the fire dog thing was new to me, maybe that was above my department’s pay grade. I recall that for a time in the scripts, the code name for Godzilla was “Gorgon”.
Interesting. Multiple sources reported that Heat Seekers was a false name early on and Godzilla was referred to as Gorgon and Thingy. We found a quote from Audu Paden saying: “Following up the name ‘HEAT SEEKERS’, we made up a whole set of phony characters and designs. Superhero humans with capes and flame flickering around their joints and a big sheep dog made out of pure fire, like something out of the Fantastic Four, named ‘Flamer’. We actually colored them up and made presentation posters and hung them outside my office.” Source: ScifiJapan.
What are your favourite and least favourite Godzilla movies and why?
