I'm going to offer some constructive feedback: for me, the milkshake palette cleanser was more distracting from the story and I kept having to go back in the video for the details that were before the palette cleanser. Maybe the breaks were just a little too long? Maybe try something a little shorter? Keep up the great work either way!
Totally hear you! I think I'll likely cut it completely next time, or keep a kitten at the end after all the story is complete. Just wanted to give an opportunity for those who like true crime but can't handle it in full doses to have a "breather" but I think there are better solutions. It'll be better next time promise! I agree maybe if it was shorter we could keep up with the story. I guess a pic of the milkshake with the ingredients would be nice, we don't need to see how its made, and then u can just say whats in it as we see the pic. That could work maybe🤷♀️

But also if you decided to nerd out about anything, it would be an entertaining doc. I feel like your style and the audience you’ve built has set you up to not need to put your content in a box! I think the kitten palette cleansers are less jarring. Too much of a tone shift with the weird smoothies between horrific crimes. They would work for a less serious subject.

Hi swoop I love your videos! and esp love these docs but the milkshake part is kinda not working for me? I feel as if if it wasn't such a heavy topic it could work better. Like maybe if it was you tube drama or literally anything else that didn't deal with a person losing their life. Anytime I watch a murder mystery or a missing case I always try to think what the family would think or if i was in a close relationship with someone who was murdered would I feel okay with someone basically playing a mini game between talking about a loved one that died. again I like the idea but maybe not for this topic? sorry for kinda rambling and I love your vids! But every time the milkshake portion would come up it left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I hope this isnt too negative Im really not trying to say I hate the video I just dislike the milkshake portion.
Just an update for anyone watching this for the first time now: Sheila took a plea deal on April 25, 2023; pleading guilty with an expected 10 months in prison for this heinous crime. She got time served for the 6 years she was imprisoned waiting for trial. Poor Marlene.
Loving the True Crime docs, I look forward to seeing more from you in the future. I think keeping with the more innocent animal palette cleanser works more for True Crime because it's kind of a self soothing technique we could all relate to while listening to something tragic. I can't properly explain it, but It just fits more. The milkshakes, while fun, is almost too playful and would work more for maybe influencer drama or something not a heavy subject. Something more lighthearted in a way. Keep fostering animals and keep up with the great work.

Hey just wanted to let you know that personally I think the milk shake palate cleansers are a bit much. I think the cat palate cleansers are nice because it’s a cute cat, but the milk shake ones are a little too like emotional whiplash because they’re supposed to be funny. I personally don’t think a video about something so tragic as a murder should have funny parts in it. I think that’s kind of disrespectful to the victims and their families.

Sometimes I feel like some don't get the appeal with Bailey. The stories are interesting for sure but it's her, we tune in for her being her, telling stories. You are plenty interesting Spanky. Lose the milkshake gimmicks, it feels like you are trying too hard. Come as you. Include your little comic cartoon bits that we already love and just tell us stories. I promise we who are true fans of yours won't think you are impersonating anyone.

I think it's more ethical and respectfull to only talk about the case, when telling about true crime case. I know that is not the norm, but just a tought.
I don't see how he couldn't be involved. He literally asked an attorney "what would happen if a husband murdered his wife on her estate?" and was told using an accomplice would be the only way to get away with it, a man was told by his dying dad "yo I got this blackmail on him you can use" and then that man received a phone call from someone he identified as Mike, the same phone that called him had also called Sheila's attorney, AND Marlene literally said "if something happens to me, this is who to look at." All evidence points to him being the mastermind behind this all, imo It's wild to me that the trial is literally happening this month. I'm so used to watching true crime videos of things that have happened years ago, not things that are still ongoing o.o

I loved this! I love dirt, but I agree with the room on the milkshakes. I would love to have him just bring in cats occasionally 🤣 Also, I think for a fun mix up you could be “filing a motion for pettiness” when you are doing true crime instead of going to petty university. Definitely keep doing these!
The pallet cleanser is a bit much for such a heavy topic. Jokes should be put aside when doing these type videos. I love your personality and sense of humor, but it’s definitely not needed in these type videos.
Because she brought her up, Bailey makes jokes on hers all the time but does say it’s not to make fun of the case. Swoop wasn’t laughing towards the case itself so i don’t find anything wrong with that. It almost replaces a commercial when people watch documentaries on cable. But I feel people are having a hard time going back and forth so it might be good to stick to something simpler or shorter

I am not big on food in videos. I'm trying to eat better and lose weight and I find seeing people eat prompts me to want to eat too. I find it hard to resist and so I tend to just not watch the video. It seems like many of my favorite creators are including mukkbang in their videos these days.
I’ve watched a lot of true crime tv, like A LOT a lot, and I’m honestly really surprised this case didn’t go to trial at the time with all the obvious and damning circumstantial evidence. I’ve seen stories about cases with less evidence and less obviously (even innocent) guilty people go to trial. Tv dramas lead us to believe that you need DNA and a smoking gun, but most cases are due to circumstantial evidence. More kittens!
If you do that, it should be short stories broken up by milkshakes cause the milkshake part was a bit long, but some food guessing thing would also be a fun video on its own

Yeah but like....this is about someone being murdered it's not just about how sad it makes us. The victims of crimes like this have families and friends that loved them so we could probably just deal with being sad for a few minutes to respect them you know.....being sad about it forever.

Swoop, since I first started watching you I’ve always wished for you to tackle true crime and you finally have!!! I’m so happy, and this video did not disappoint. My only piece of constructive criticism is that I think you should implement time stamps into the video if you’re going to do more true crime, cuz I don’t know about other people, but I had to go back in the video a few times and it was hard to get back to where I was after I got the info I needed, and the pallet cleaners were a little too long and distracting, although I really like the conception mystery milkshakes, I think it’s better suited for a different type of video, or maybe it’s own. I also think the milkshake segments could’ve been structured better in a way, cuz I like how they were a passive thing in the video, cuz it felt like you were my friend telling me a crazy true crime story instead of some other videos on RUclips that make it sound like they’re actual story tellers. I really love the part in the video where you like “Mmm creamy.” It was really funny and a nice little piece of comedy in an otherwise tragic story. For your first time doing something like this I give you a gold star, that was really good, and I hope you continue to keep up the good work!! ❤️❤️
I'm just loving your true crime vids. This case was insane. It kind of reminded me of bits of the Covina Massacre, where Bruce Pardo showed up on Xmas eve dressed as Santa & did just horrible, horrific things. Swoop, you'd be able to do an amazing deep dive on this, there's ALOT to cover! ALOT!
I love true crime videos and documentaries, especially the really unique or strange ones so this made me super happy. I like the idea of breaking up the videos with something a little more lighthearted since although I don't have a problem watching all the way through nonstop I can get how that might be tough for some. Maybe kitten pallette cleanser, but the kittens just existing and interacting with things /playing with each other? Get to see their personalities and antics and such.
Yes, "this" is disgusting. You know what else is disgusting? Insensitivity. Regardless of your intent, creating any form of distraction when recounting a narrative of this caliber is tone deaf at best. I've seen commenters address this much, but not the fact that topics such as the one you've covered are not supposed to be sugar coated in any way; it is by nature a perturbing story and taking away from that reduces much of the impact you've attempted to make in your commentary.
Honestly I disagree. Things like this are very hard to listen to and breaking it up makes it so the information was more digestible. She didn't make the actual case seem like a joke or something to be taken lightly like other creators do.

Hi swoop I love your videos! and esp love these docs but the milkshake part is kinda not working for me?
I feel as if if it wasn't such a heavy topic it could work better. Like maybe if it was you tube drama or literally anything else that didn't deal with a person losing their life. Anytime I watch a murder mystery or a missing case I always try to think what the family would think or if i was in a close relationship with someone who was murdered would I feel okay with someone basically playing a mini game between talking about a loved one that died.
again I like the idea but maybe not for this topic?

Just an update for anyone watching this for the first time now: Sheila took a plea deal on April 25, 2023; pleading guilty with an expected 10 months in prison for this heinous crime. She got time served for the 6 years she was imprisoned waiting for trial. Poor Marlene.

I think keeping with the more innocent animal palette cleanser works more for True Crime because it's kind of a self soothing technique we could all relate to while listening to something tragic. I can't properly explain it, but It just fits more. The milkshakes, while fun, is almost too playful and would work more for maybe influencer drama or something not a heavy subject. Something more lighthearted in a way.
Keep fostering animals and keep up with the great work.

Hey just wanted to let you know that personally I think the milk shake palate cleansers are a bit much. I think the cat palate cleansers are nice because it’s a cute cat, but the milk shake ones are a little too like emotional whiplash because they’re supposed to be funny. I personally don’t think a video about something so tragic as a murder should have funny parts in it. I think that’s kind of disrespectful to the victims and their families.

Sometimes I feel like some don't get the appeal with Bailey. The stories are interesting for sure but it's her, we tune in for her being her, telling stories. You are plenty interesting Spanky. Lose the milkshake gimmicks, it feels like you are trying too hard. Come as you. Include your little comic cartoon bits that we already love and just tell us stories. I promise we who are true fans of yours won't think you are impersonating anyone.
The purple cow was a chain we had one in Fort Worth when I was little. Their specialty was milkshakes so I think the palette cleanser are appropriate.
This doc was a breath of fresh air compared to the previous RUclipsr scandal breakdown videos. Thank you for mentioning Confessions Of A Rebel. Y'know I'm all about pampering myself, esp after the apending 💩⛈️ of last year, and designer fragrance became my opulent mental getaway.

I think it's more ethical and respectfull to only talk about the case, when telling about true crime case. I know that is not the norm, but just a tought.
I don't see how he couldn't be involved. He literally asked an attorney "what would happen if a husband murdered his wife on her estate?" and was told using an accomplice would be the only way to get away with it, a man was told by his dying dad "yo I got this blackmail on him you can use" and then that man received a phone call from someone he identified as Mike, the same phone that called him had also called Sheila's attorney, AND Marlene literally said "if something happens to me, this is who to look at." All evidence points to him being the mastermind behind this all, imo
It's wild to me that the trial is literally happening this month. I'm so used to watching true crime videos of things that have happened years ago, not things that are still ongoing o.o

The pallet cleanser is a bit much for such a heavy topic. Jokes should be put aside when doing these type videos. I love your personality and sense of humor, but it’s definitely not needed in these type videos.
Because she brought her up, Bailey makes jokes on hers all the time but does say it’s not to make fun of the case. Swoop wasn’t laughing towards the case itself so i don’t find anything wrong with that. It almost replaces a commercial when people watch documentaries on cable. But I feel people are having a hard time going back and forth so it might be good to stick to something simpler or shorter
Maybe a mystery milkshake pallet cleanser at the end. If it ever gets to heavy, kitty breaks are nice 💕✨

I am not big on food in videos. I'm trying to eat better and lose weight and I find seeing people eat prompts me to want to eat too. I find it hard to resist and so I tend to just not watch the video. It seems like many of my favorite creators are including mukkbang in their videos these days.
I’ve watched a lot of true crime tv, like A LOT a lot, and I’m honestly really surprised this case didn’t go to trial at the time with all the obvious and damning circumstantial evidence. I’ve seen stories about cases with less evidence and less obviously (even innocent) guilty people go to trial.
Tv dramas lead us to believe that you need DNA and a smoking gun, but most cases are due to circumstantial evidence.

I think sometimes people take things too seriously and it's okay to add some distraction on a serious topic being discussed, cause if not, we just wallow too much and it's not always good. Yeah but like....this is about someone being murdered it's not just about how sad it makes us. The victims of crimes like this have families and friends that loved them so we could probably just deal with being sad for a few minutes to respect them you know.....being sad about it forever.

Imma be honest, I am not into true crime but I would absolutely watch anything you create because you have such a unique style with the speech, the editing, the production value, girl… you could be talking about cereal and I’d still watch it. If anything else you are a great stepping stone for people who want to get into true crime but don’t know where to start. I just love the video essay format from you, specifically

Swoop, since I first started watching you I’ve always wished for you to tackle true crime and you finally have!!! I’m so happy, and this video did not disappoint. My only piece of constructive criticism is that I think you should implement time stamps into the video if you’re going to do more true crime, cuz I don’t know about other people, but I had to go back in the video a few times and it was hard to get back to where I was after I got the info I needed, and the pallet cleaners were a little too long and distracting, although I really like the conception mystery milkshakes, I think it’s better suited for a different type of video, or maybe it’s own. I also think the milkshake segments could’ve been structured better in a way, cuz I like how they were a passive thing in the video, cuz it felt like you were my friend telling me a crazy true crime story instead of some other videos on RUclips that make it sound like they’re actual story tellers. I really love the part in the video where you like “Mmm creamy.” It was really funny and a nice little piece of comedy in an otherwise tragic story. For your first time doing something like this I give you a gold star, that was really good, and I hope you continue to keep up the good work!! ❤️❤️

I'm just loving your true crime vids. This case was insane. It kind of reminded me of bits of the Covina Massacre, where Bruce Pardo showed up on Xmas eve dressed as Santa & did just horrible, horrific things. Swoop, you'd be able to do an amazing deep dive on this, there's ALOT to cover! ALOT!
I love true crime videos and documentaries, especially the really unique or strange ones so this made me super happy. I like the idea of breaking up the videos with something a little more lighthearted since although I don't have a problem watching all the way through nonstop I can get how that might be tough for some. Maybe kitten pallette cleanser, but the kittens just existing and interacting with things /playing with each other? Get to see their personalities and antics and such.
Yes, "this" is disgusting. You know what else is disgusting? Insensitivity. Regardless of your intent, creating any form of distraction when recounting a narrative of this caliber is tone deaf at best. I've seen commenters address this much, but not the fact that topics such as the one you've covered are not supposed to be sugar coated in any way; it is by nature a perturbing story and taking away from that reduces much of the impact you've attempted to make in your commentary.
Honestly I disagree. Things like this are very hard to listen to and breaking it up makes it so the information was more digestible. She didn't make the actual case seem like a joke or something to be taken lightly like other creators do.

Ok, little theory about the woman who called giving the clue in the beginning. Remember how marlene told her mother that if anything happened to her that it was mike’s fault. Yeah, the mother knew about the affair and called the police calling out mike and Sheila
I live in Kingsport...met Mike, he was super uncomfortable to be around but none of us knew about this case until Sheila was arrested. Purple cow was and is a super busy restaurant so they are loaded. BTW, ty for taking constructive feedback from others.
