BMW M235i is definitely a "my first BMW" model. The 2 series coupe will give you the full BMW experience though so if you don't need 4 doors, that would be the option to go for. Oh, and I have an order at that dealership you were at for a M2 so I am extremely biased to the coupe over the gran coupe.
Love the older style cockpit physical buttons and a proper gear lever ,a bit pricey the only reservation, residuals might be poor as it’s such a niche BMW
I've been shopping around for either a slightly pre-owned OG m240i, or a new m240i, or 230i with M sport package. I've also looked at the m235i Grand coupe. And I can tell you that there is a massive price difference between the m235i Gran coupe and a m240i. MSRP of a new m240i was supposed to be $48k roughly, but that's what they're asking for a base 230i. You can find a 2022 m235i loaded with low miles, for about $30k. The new model m240i is almost impossible to find used, but even if you do come across one, it's still going to be about $55k+. And they're asking in the high $50s to low $60s for a new m240i at the dealers. It's insane! Out the door you're probably almost up to 70K with options Everything is expensive these days but cars, they've gone to ridiculous levels.
BMW's approach to their vehicles is reminiscent of Cadillac's significant misstep in the 1980s, when they affixed the Cadillac badge onto what essentially amounted to a Chevy Cavalier. When you begin to take excessive liberties with your customers, you risk losing their loyalty.
This is not a “poor man’s M2”, it is a BMW Mini. If you want an affordable M2 the get a 230i, they come well equipped in the low $40k. Got my 230i with big brakes and ELSD for $43k
I feel like if you like how this drives, the right move is to get a mini clubman jcw. Same platform and engine to my knowledge, but it’s way more quirky, it’s more practical, and you can get it for 6k less as well. Plus it comes in British racing green which is a huge plus.
Don’t think any poor man can afford a BMW. Nice review though 😎
Living paycheck to paycheck to afford your bad financial habits is poor.
$200 dollars oil change at your local bmw shop
@@RobustArid379 good luck with getting it for $200. Oil change for a Porsche 911 is $500.
As a 240 owner I actually quite like these MINI chassis 2 series. Ppl just hate on thing for no reasons nowadays.
i find it funny as BMW owns mini so Minis are BMWs
@@JC-cb4xg Einhorn is Finkle! Finkle is Einhorn! 🤣🤣
I have my 2020 BMW M235i Storm Bay Metallic and I friggin love it! Highly recommend it for anyone in the market for a BMW.
I have a 2021 M235 and i love it.
Love the stylish M235i with a lot of features. Much improved design.
9 minutes into a 10 minute video he says "I wonder what this accelerates like". YEAH SO DO WE! Proceeds to pull to 40 mph and let's off.
I wouldn’t call a 50k plus car a poor man’s car but i know what you meant 😂

The M240i is the "poor" man's M2.
great little budget M car !
Far from a real M car, although!
This car seems like an M2 that you can actually daily drive without it destroying your spine when you go over an undulation on the freeway.
Is this the best beemer for the money? Will outlast all their other models and keep better value I think.

Wish this had 360 camera! Maybe the next gen will have that or at least a lift back!
Hey Ben can you compare the manual Rubicon to the 392 Rubicon
BMW built a cool car
At least you get to show the turning radius a couple of times.
Sports cars aren';t made for four adults. Maybe why Corvette, Porsche Ferrari etc have two seats or two seats and two back seats for children.
Looks like a ford escort with a weird bmw front end
This doesn't get the fabled B58 engine like 240i and costs the same

the 240 is 4-6K more
It's a good-looking bimmer, but it's on a lousy front wheel drive platform! Also, it's overpriced since you can get the M240i for slightly more!
I thinks that looks even better than a normal M2😭🔥

This is nothing like a M2! Wrong chassis, nothing is even close.
What is the difference with the M240i XDrive?
M235i is a 4 cylinder 300hp m240i is a 6 cylinder 382hp way faster
"Deep throaty" sound 🌚🌚🌚
Nice innit

Costs the same as the 330! why would anyone get this over the 330?
330i is underpowered compared to the m235i.

No BMW badge, signature grill, and prestige of driving a BMW!
Kind of ridiculous the kidney grill is so fake. Just get rid of it now
A four-door 2 Series? That's not only a violation of style, it breaks the rules of physics!
lol 50K? Hard pass !
