Baumkuchen is the best thing ever. Sadly it is not even known in many parts of western germany.
It's very common in Japan.
In Switzerland we have cookies called Totäbeinli, which means little legs or bones of dead people. In some places to be more polite they call them now Nussstangen. They are very hard to chew and you teeth make sounds when you try to crack them.
Ha that doesn't sound very appetizing ;-)
Ich brech' zusammen! 😂🤣😂😂😂
Und der erste Preis für den krassesten Namen geht in die schöne Schweiz! 🏆
"Totäbeinli", also im Prinzip isses 'ne Zombieschnitte...🤭
😂🤣🤣😂
Bei uns im Nachbarort wird ein Gericht auf Basis von Bratkartoffeln verkauft; es hat den Namen "Eine Schippe Dreck!"
Auch lecker! 😂🤣
Nicht zu vergessen die "Nonnenfürzle"!
🤭🤣😂🤣
Isst man in Schwaben zur Fasnetszeit. 🥳😋
Sacher Cake: Yes a cake with a big history. There are lots of fact books, documentaries and novells about it´s creation. Hence the Wikipedia article to the cake is very well written.
Sacher Torte is made with apricot!
My Mom was from Vienna!
And I have eaten Sacher Torte there.
Feuerwehrtorte oder Schneewittchentorte sind auch gut.
Die sind danach benannt, woran ihre Schichten erinnern.
Donauwelle
This video is a Perfect example of nonexistent german humor.
OMG... the humour thing again 😴
Toter Hund. This is a cake made of butter cookies layered alternately with (liquid) dark chocolate. In the end, the entire cake is covered with dark chocolate. The dark chocolate is taken because milk chocolate would make the cake unbearably sweet.
My favourite German cake name is the marzipan and chocolate éclair is the Liebesknochen
Don't forget about the Googlehupf.
Sehr wahr! ☝️
Aber es heißt "Gugelhupf", das hat nichts mit Google zu tun! 🤣😂🤣🤣
Here in Canada, the eclairs I've eaten had a white filling.
Windbeutel, Zupfkuchen, Schillerlocken.
German humour is an acquired taste.
