Flats appear much more secure than maisonette but maisonettes are comparatively cheaper.
That can be true in many cases.

And this is why it's not uncommon for non house shares to have utilities not included in the UK and accros from me the maisonette with both the normal number and A have separate meters and stopcocks out front and ofcourse separate gas and electric meters as well that way the bill ends up in that persons name and normaly not the property owners. It also gives the home owners freedom to use as much as they want without being limited to the reasonable use in the tendency agreement
Hi there! You're absolutely spot on about utilities usually being separate in non-house shares in the UK. It does give tenants more control over their usage, and it simplifies things for property owners like landlords. By having separate meters and stopcocks, it's a lot easier to identify which tenant is responsible for what. And yes, this arrangement frees up homeowners to use utilities as they see fit, without any limitations imposed by tenancy agreements. All in all, it's a setup that works well for both landlords and tenants! 😊
Thanks. Needed this👍

@@AbbeyPropertyhi, so the difference is basically the entrances? Open door entrance and reception concierge area - this is flat? The maisonettes are also flats in a building but…? Sorry this is so confusing. You know when something is so simple but so confusing as a result - it’s this!!!
So confusing !!! Thx for ya vid
It can definitely be difficult to navigate! If there is any other content you think would be helpful for you, do let us know :)
Maisonettes are much nicer and more practical
Depends on your needs and wants in a property really.
I personally prefer a flat, ideally on a higher floor for the views, however that's just my preference.

Is it legal to call a room with no window or second exit a bedroom? It’s a fire trap.
According to building regulations in the UK, all bedrooms must have at least one window
@@AbbeyProperty the camera didn’t capture the window in second bedroom.
@@kristinesharp6286 It is a little difficult to see! The window is to the left of the door across from the bed :)
If it has a window and can fit a single bed and a single wardrobe (one door) it can count. @@MadkaPolka
My bad. It definiately had one. Must have been the angle I recorded at. Was it beneficial otherwise?
My flat is in two floors, but inside the building.
Is it still considered as flat or maisonette any idea please.
That's an quirky setup..
As it doesn't have it's own dedicated entrance, and shares a communal entrance, I would still consider it a flat.

Someone has a lot of hoovering to do in that block of flats 😱
Can a maisonette have neighbours upstairs?
You can have an upstairs neighbour in a maisonette but you will not share the same enterance to the property or any communal space except potentially the garden!
You are blocking a parking spot.
