It's definitely inconsistent, but I honestly think it's cool that they managed to reboot the franchise while still making it canon to the original series.
There are inconsistencies, like characters showing up where they shouldn't... but the timeline itself is not that confusing when you undestand Days of Future Past erased the original trilogy and the first two Wolverine movies.
@@Mr.wickanderson the original trilogy was erased from the timeline the movies' storyline is following. It doesn't matter if they still exist in another timeline because we're not following said timeline in the movies (and that information is provided outside the story).
One thing that a lot of people didn't catch is that as inconsistent at the timeline is the one consistent thing about it is that sometime in the 2020s the majority of mutants are hunted and killed. And it all comes back to a quote made in days of Future past (the first time we see the mutants future) "It's like a river - you can throw a pebble in and create a ripple, but the current always corrects itself. No matter what you do the river just keeps flowing in the same direction."

It just breaks my heart knowing that Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian Mckellen are getting older. They were perfect for the roles of Professor X and Magneto. It's just a pity that we didn't have the technology and the funds and opportunities that exist today and also the investments in Comicbook movies to be able to do more with these amazing actors and human beings.
@@DatBoiChris420 They were honestly really good actors and perfect for the role imo i don't think others could do a better job ( except the cast in x men first class )

For anyone wondering how Charles Xavier was seemingly ressurected - In the X-Men: The Last Stand's credit scene, Xavier is greeted by a nurse - Moira McTaggart - who asks him how he's doing. She was briefly mentioned previously in the movie at the school by Xavier himself, when he talks about putting someones conscious into a body with no conscious. So they somehow transferred his 'brain' into a replicate body of him.
I know and find it weird how most people seemed to totally missed that but honestly in my opinion they should have explained it a little better in x men 3 or the end of wolverine Or even Days of futures past. But hey its the x men right
People forget that he’s the most powerful telepath meaning he transferred his consciousness into another patient overseen by Moira and (forgetting the dumb twin brother explanation by film makers), he can project his old image into the entire worlds brain or whoever gazes upon him (including audience), to appear to them as Charles always once did to them
@@masterofmetal85 I’ll tell you but it’s spoilers, so don’t read ahead if you don’t wanna know yet or haven’t watched it by now: Laura, ( Wolverines daughter basically), turned the crucifix cross on his grave sideways and it looked like an X when she laid it down, representing X-Men
I actually just saw it for the first time, and I'm both pissed and confused. The movie came out in 2017 (I think), and he died (and professor X. LIke what the hell 😭). So how is he alive in the new dead pool movie that just came out? This so-called timeline had me confused as hell.
Cool point to add is that logams healing power faded/professor x lost control of his mind, because they started putting stuff into the water supply to kill/cure mutants.
Deadpool 2, New Mutants, and Logan had aspects of the Essex Corporation (also with aftercredits scene in X-Men:Apocalypse, where they got the Wolverine DNA for Laura). Looks like they wanted to bring Mister Sinister at some point before Disney bought Fox.
My heart breaks every time i think of Wolverine and the Xmen. To think if it wasn't Task with the sentinels, it would be Essex that would engineer the food causing the mutant gene not to be passed on. If it wasn't the Essex corp. it would of been something else..
An amazing franchise with perfect cast! Wish we could have an infinite amount of Xmen movies with the same characters, so iconic. Can’t wait for Deadpool 3 and to see what Wolverine is like on the big screen with Deadpool !
The branched off timeline part really sums things up for me. It must be tough for Logan to have the knowledge of creating a whole new timeline of events
I still don’t get how we go from all these new events that happened in the past that never seemed to happen before. Also what the explanation of mystique becoming good instead of evil?
I believe Xavier was alive again because he put his consciousness into his twin brother who was mentally incapacitated, which is what led to him having those seizures because his brothers brain was never stable
but logan takes place in the new timeline, in which xavier never died. that could very well be what happened in the og timeline, but it wouldn't be the reason for the seizures.
If x-men franchise split into 2 timelines, does those 2 timelines are in 1 universe or 2 universe? Because logan will be in the new timeline when stryker/raven found her out of the lake and there’s another logan back in 2023 when logan’s conscious return from days of future past that leads to Logan 2029.
Maybe the same thing happened later? "It's like a river - you can throw a pebble in and create a ripple, but the current always corrects itself." Since Jean is implied to have survived, and is shown to be alive at the end of Days of Future Past (which is after she dies in Dark Phoenix), I'm guessing that perhaps the same thing happens.
@@habo7004 same universe of 1973 and 2023. His own timeline got erased as we saw, along with sentinels. Out of most of the X-men movies I have seen, I do believe that First Class was pretty close to the comics. The rest were....just chopped and sewn together with no real regard to any sense of "timeline".
First Class was not close to the comics at all. It was probably one of the least closest of the X-movies. None of the members of the first class of X-Men in the movie were members of the original X-Men in the comics. The main villain, Sebastian Shaw, was not until almost two decades after the X-Men comic debuted. I am not saying it wasn't a good movie though!
Honestly at this point, just watch these movies as stand alone. If u r gonna watch it timeline wise, it wont make any sense and wouldn't probably reduce ur hype Watch the trilogy, the prequels, and the spin offs as a separate franchise it makes more sense in that way imo
rogue's bf didnt die, just ended up in a coma for three weeks according to her and xavier's consciousness transferred into his brother's comatose body as shown in the post credit scene in the last stand with moira.
Wow I literally just completed binge watching the entire franchise and this randomly was in my recommended 😅. Needless to say, I pieced together the timeline myself by googling everything in the middle of each movie to understand certain things lmfaooooo
Before this video I was struggling to place Wade Wilson into the timeline... Between X Men Origins and Deadpool. Now the explanation about the time travel from Deadpool 2 puts everything in perspective
The X-Men movies was my introduction to Marvel universe which then led to loving most of the Avengers franchise movies. I'm glad when the MCU was being developed someone had the soundness of mind to keep the timeline fairly consistent within those movies. Unfortunately, the same can not be said for X-men which is very frustrating. Just finished watching Dark Phoenix again and remembered why I disliked it so much when I first saw it in theaters. I read somewhere Hugh Jackman is resurrecting Wolverine for Deadpool 3. Wolverine is my favorite X-men character so I'm happy but also frustrated b/c the timeline will probably be more confusing. Ugh.
It's interesting how many people are radically confused by a saga that isn't very confusing. But they have the ability to understand multiverses, stories with different years of development or stories of the same events but with different characters... Thank you for this video. One thing you also missed was either in X2 or X3, when Charles and Magneto went to find Jean. Charles was not yet in a wheelchair, he is clearly standing and walking. In First Class, Charles becomes paralyzed at 30 something, not 50 something. He also still has his hair in First Class, but not in the movie where he and Magneto go and get Jean (X2 or X3). In the 1st Class series he doesn't lose his hair till Apocalypse when Jean is already a young woman.

I prefer the altered timeline where the mutants live a happy life together as a family right before Logan takes that away with a new timeline that is a sequel to the original timeline :)
Yeah I treat it as an epilogue to the XMen movies. Regardless of whether it's canon, to me, the story ended with the end of Days of Future Past. That's the ending I choose. I still love Logan and think it's a realistic take on the ending of DOFP. Idk it's all fun and games at the end of the day. It's over now so you can choose the sad ending in Logan or the happy ending of DOFP, and just say Logan is another timeline. We'll probably never get clarity on it so I'm not gonna worry about it lmao. Also, it's a movie!
I love these movies. It took watching this to fully understand the separation of the timelines, but I get it now. Also, 17:40 I’d like to point out that this clone of Logan (X-24) does NOT heal as well as Logan did at his peak. In X-men Origins Wolverine, Logan is shot TWICE the head with Adamantium bullets and still heals perfectly, having only lost his memories. X-24 on the other hand needs that serum just to heal from getting impaled and shot in the face three times with a shotgun. Then he dies when Laura shoots him in the head with only ONE Adamantium bullet. Comparing their healing powers on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being a normal human and 10 being Logan at his peak) I give X-24 around a 6, maybe a little weaker that Sabertooth. I give Sabertooth around a 7 or an 8. Deadpool gets like a 15 or higher on that scale.
"one with a stronger healing factor than the AGING Logan." Looper was simply saying X-24 heals faster than current Logan, not that his healing was better than Logans ever was.
yeah they should’ve had an end credit scene with him where he meets laura and finds his brothers grave and sheds some tears but the original end was pretty much perfect
even if you try to take everything into account, there are so many inconsistencies, it's crazy x) - why in "Apocalypse", Logan is locked up at Stryker's, when it's Mystique who gets him at the end of "Days of Future Past" (being a good person in the new timeline, logically she should have taken him to the X-Men) ? - why are Jean Grey and Cyclops alive when Logan wakes up in 2023 ? his actions prevented the Sentinels from being created, but I don't see how that has any bearing on the appearance of the Phoenix - if Logan prevented the creation of the Sentinels and saved "our future", that means that the "new timeline" (the one in the reboot, with the younger actors) is linked to the classic timeline (and that it's not a parallel universe)... in this case, why is Jean Gray there in 2023 when Logan wakes up when she dies in the 70s/80s in "Dark Phoenix" ? - how preventing the creation of the Sentinels causes events such as "Apocalypse" or the arrival of the Pheonix Force to happen in the new timeline and not in the original one ? - what happened to Logan between the 70s and 2023 ? who "inhabited" his body ? what happened to the "previous" Logan's consciousness ? I could go on like this all night lol ! time travel is always a mess, but the ending is still beautiful and concludes the X-Men saga quite well
I'm honestly really confused as well but I can maybe explain what "happened" to Logan during the time travel because this always bugs me as well. At the end of Days of the future past I believe, Logan wakes up in the mansion and everyone greets him, acts like everything is normal. When he went to Charles, he was just greeting him normally as well but as soon as Logan is confused Charles' expression changes and he says "welcome back" (or the likes). Of course only Logan can know what happened because everything else got erased, so I assume Charles read his mind or something. But that would mean that Logan was living a normal life as a teacher, since the future (or past?) didn't happen. I guess he "overrides" his other consciousness there or something. Time travel is just a disaster anyway.
what i got from the trask assassination is: Trask: *tried to commit genocide on all mutants* Mutant (Mystique): *assassinates Trask* The public: :0 Mutants bad.
"Logan body consciousness is transport back into his body in 2023" Perfect timing year as well. That year is when Avenger Endgame bought everyone back from dusted and Loki mess up whole multiverse, another clue of Disney MCU and Fox Marvel Multiverse will happening maybe 👀
In original timeline... Least a few mutants were alive at the end. Sure they died but they ended up creating a new timeline where they were all wiped out by the one leader they trusted most. So exercise in futility comes to mind. "Time, fate, has a way of correcting itself like a river that had a stone thrown in it."
The other thing about The Wolverine was how Yukio had a vision of Logan dying, holding his heart in his hand. And in Logan, he dies while grasping Laura's hand.
I think Marvel recently explained that the Logan storyline is a different universe and separate from the new timeline where everything was good and happy in 2023.
It's funny and sad at the same time that everytime we traerlo into the future of any X-men timeline, they're in a dystopian future, X-Men:DoFP, DP2, and Logan, holy shit Fox really didn't want then to have a happy ending, luckily, DP3 comes to give our fellow mutants a happy ending... I hope
I gotta give this video credit because it actually tells a better story of the X-Men than what Fox did with all of their movies this by far is the superior X-Men's story
I refuse to believe that 2023 Days of Future Past ending and Logan are connected, first of all in just 5 years (2023-2029) Charles aged like 15 years older plus the director revealed that Logan has no connection with past X-Men movies, he just want to focus on the story of Wolverine. "No young mutant born in last 25 years" if it was 2029 then explain why there's a young mutants in Days of the Future Past ending (2023) it's unbelievable that no mutants born after 2004 because the X-Men successfully stopped the threats for their extinction multiple times. And lastly the mid credit scene of Apocalypse Bryan Singer stated that it has connection with setting up the next villain which is Mr. Sinister, it has no connection with Logan.
Charles "somehow" looks the same? Have you forgotten about the body double Charles moved his consciousness into at the end of The Last Stand? How could anyone forget that? lol

I know that Charles transferred his mind into another body. But where did y’all get the theory that it was his twin brother’s body? I don’t remember Charles saying he has a twin and I literally just completed watching the franchise
Thanks to this video I JUST NOW realised how The Dark Phoenix fits into the canon. 😳 It had never occurred to me that it was due to The Days of the Future Past! 🤦🏻 Thank you, Looper. Also, even though I'm not a fan of the US dialects, I LOVE listening to this narrator. ❤
So what *exactly* happened to Wolverine's timeline, after Wade killed his past self from the "X-Men Origins" movie? And how exactly did he manage to meet that past self, if that's not even part of his past? He wasn't created by Stryker in that facility and never had been part of anything related to that place. It just doesn't make sense... Two points I can't wrap my head around!
Deadpool is it's own thing honestly. It's a parody, he breaks the 4th wall so don't take anything that happens in those two movies seriously. Hell, he deletes his own second movie from the timeline by saving his girl, if we have to think about it.
You left out that the reason Professor X has a body after Jean Grey destroyed his is because he transferred his consciousness to his twin brother who's body was alive but mind wasn't (Comic). You also left out the series "Gifted" which are about mutants AFTER Professor X's seizure as stated in the series. It never mentions his name, just the event itself. Supposedly taking place about 7 years after the event, which means 6 years after Logan, parallel to "New Mutants"
At end of Days of Future Past which is part of new timeline Jean Grey was seen alive, but in dark phoenix which is also set in new timeline but in past, she was shown dead ,then how was she alive at the end of Days of Future Past
No. The Cure did work on Magneto; the end credits Scene of "Last Stand" only implied that the cure was not permanent; apparently "The Cure" only lasted for over a year. Charles Xavior transferred his continence into the mind of brain cancer patient in Last stand which would explain why he shows up at the end of "Wolverine" and he also mentions his theory on mind transference earlier in "Last Stand" he would only, be a slight different in appearance to the characters in the film, but he is only recognizable to us, because that is the face of the actor that we are too familiar with, because of the X-Men Trilogy films.
My theory for Professor X surviving Jean Grey, is that he maybe transferred his consciousness to a random person and he uses that body from there on. But to avoid confusion with his peers, he controls their mind in envisioning Professor X’s body instead of a random one
The post credits scene in X3 has Professor X as having transferred his consciousness to a body in the facility that was alluded to at the beginning of the movie.
Actually, Deadpool 2 is the last X-Men movie. In Deadpool 2 , in the beginning Wade has a toy which is designed as the way Logan died in the movie The Logan. This is not a coincidence that Deadpool knew about how Logan died. The way Logan was killed by stabbing him with the branch of the tree, which was laid on the ground, the whole scene was designed on the toy.
Still lost in some places but it works I think we might get new versions of the X men like someone makes more Xavier schools across the world and they fight apocolips or something else or we could go into the multiverse and they need to fight off the dark Xavier whatever happens the X-men will always have movies to make.
10:04 in the previous movie where Xavier died. There is a post credit scene where he transfers his consciousness to a brain dead person and probably in front of moira mactaggert who is caretaking the sick man. And also he mentioned this previously in the movie also.
I know the timeline is wacky as all hell, but my biggest issue is the AMAZING comic accurate costumes at the end of apocalypse, and then the suuuuupppper lame 60s outfits in Dark Phoenix. WTF?
In the new future in the end of DOFP, the Sentinels never rise, so Logan doesn't time travel back, if so, Raven would kill Trask in 1973, the dark future is back, Logan travels back, prevent it, new happy future where Logan never traveled back so Trask dies in 1973, leading to dark future, Paradox, that's the plot hole
Xmen one.seeing storm and cyclops using their powers,to save wolverine and rogue......was just awesommmmmeee.it was amazing to see the comicbook team live action for the first time.as I heard more marvel heroes coming to live action movies I wondered how they would do it working their way around the colorful costumes.you can't put black leather outfits on all the heroes and villains.but now we have made the bright colorful costume easy to digest.but in 20 years will we look back on the movies for avengers for example, will we think damn those colorful costumes look cheesy.i hope not.
Yeah, that's one thing, another thing is that the new future in the end of DOFP, the Sentinels never rise, so Logan doesn't time travel back, if so, Raven would kill Trask in 1973, the dark future is back, Logan travels back, prevent it, new happy future where Logan never traveled back so Trask dies in 1973, leading to dark future, Paradox, that's the plot hole
the new timeline after days of future past probably affected their date of birth, for example. jean was originally born on 1984 on the orignal timeline, and then after the events of days of future past where they changed the timeline, jean was born somewhere after 1973 😄😄
One thing I still don't understand is how Logan wakes up in the new timeline (after the events of Days Of Future Past), and Jean is there. I know that since history was changed, the whole Stryker shenanigans probably didn't happen, but how come Jean is there if she 'dies' in Dark Phoenix? Maybe another X-Men movie will explain this, but I think it's one of the major mistakes.
I wouldn't say that Magneto is immune to the cure. The cure is only temporary. The reason they didn't show any other mutants that were cured is probably because the filmmakers wanted to wait till the revelation at the end of X3.

@@Immortal_Liberty no offense but I found it weird for a person to not confuse about X-Men, even Deadpool mentioned that he his confused
There are inconsistencies, like characters showing up where they shouldn't... but the timeline itself is not that confusing when you undestand Days of Future Past erased the original trilogy and the first two Wolverine movies.
@@thiagodszsnts it started a new timeline. The others still happened.
And it all comes back to a quote made in days of Future past (the first time we see the mutants future)
"It's like a river - you can throw a pebble in and create a ripple, but the current always corrects itself. No matter what you do the river just keeps flowing in the same direction."

It just breaks my heart knowing that Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian Mckellen are getting older. They were perfect for the roles of Professor X and Magneto. get a grip. plenty great actors who can do the same level of acting nowadays.
For anyone wondering how Charles Xavier was seemingly ressurected -
In the X-Men: The Last Stand's credit scene, Xavier is greeted by a nurse - Moira McTaggart - who asks him how he's doing. She was briefly mentioned previously in the movie at the school by Xavier himself, when he talks about putting someones conscious into a body with no conscious. So they somehow transferred his 'brain' into a replicate body of him.
I know and find it weird how most people seemed to totally missed that but honestly in my opinion they should have explained it a little better in x men 3 or the end of wolverine
Or even Days of futures past. But hey its the x men right

Deadpool using Logan’s skeleton as a weapon while dancing byebye by the NSYNC boys was the best thing that happened to this timeline

Out of most of the X-men movies I have seen, I do believe that First Class was pretty close to the comics. The rest were....just chopped and sewn together with no real regard to any sense of "timeline".
First Class was not close to the comics at all. It was probably one of the least closest of the X-movies. None of the members of the first class of X-Men in the movie were members of the original X-Men in the comics. The main villain, Sebastian Shaw, was not until almost two decades after the X-Men comic debuted. I am not saying it wasn't a good movie though!
Honestly at this point, just watch these movies as stand alone. If u r gonna watch it timeline wise, it wont make any sense and wouldn't probably reduce ur hype
Watch the trilogy, the prequels, and the spin offs as a separate franchise it makes more sense in that way imo

Ugh.
Wolverine is now confirmed in the new Deadpool movie
It's interesting how many people are radically confused by a saga that isn't very confusing. But they have the ability to understand multiverses, stories with different years of development or stories of the same events but with different characters... Thank you for this video. Hard fans of these films know that this video presents in a good way a chronology that many of us already knew.
True the Fox X-Men timeline isnt as confusing as people make it out to be. Just has some errors
🤓
they rebooted it with FIRST CLASS, this was confirmed by director and producer Matthew Vaughn, they changed major things, like Xavier and Magneto not being the ones who built Cerebro and invented it, Mctaggert being 40 years older and a CIA agent, not a scottish doctor like in X3, also Xavier said in 1st film that they met when they were 17, but in FIRST CLASS he met Magneto, aged 32( 1962) when Charles was 30( this is confirmed in end credits and on imdb, and 12 years old in 1944, born in 1932, and Magneto born in 1930), in 1962. Fully different.
In Origins Wolverine Xavier was NOT in New York on a waterbed ,as he was in January 1973 in Days of Future Past. In fact, in 1972-1973 he was fully in Weapon X program with Stryker and Sabretooth, Deadpool etc. Days of Future past FULLY destroyed the timeline, these were DIFFERENT UNIVERSES. VERY DIFFERENT HISTORIES AND AGES OF MAJOR CHARACTERS, invention of Cerebro and much else. Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix continued FIRST CLASS events, literally NOT the same history at all as we saw in 2000-2009/2013 films.
in Origins Wolverine film, 1979, we see Cyclops aged 17-18, which was a major mistake, given he was 25-26 when filming the first film, which was confirmed to occur in 2002, by the studio(same as 2nd film, 6 months later, and 3rd film in 2006), yet he would have been 40-41 in 2002, not 25-26. Jean Grey was shown to be 10-12 in 1986, in X3, so is 26-28 is in 2002(played by a much too old 35-year old actress in 1st film, and 38 in 2nd one). But in the new films, Jean was shown in 1983( confirmed year) aged 17, so by 1986 would be 20, NOT 10( as we saw in X3 intro), and in 1992 looked same( horrible to pretend Xavier/Magneto did not age in 30 years from 1st to 4th film), she was 26 supposedly, yet still called a kid alongside Cyclops. in 2009 film, he was 17 in 1979, so 21 in 1983( yet they said he was 17 in 1983), so Jean would be 14 years younger than Scott based on the 2009 film. NONSENSE galore.
Scott born in 1962, so 17 in 1979, so 40 in 2002. Jean born 1976, 3 in 1979, 10 in 1986, 26 in 2002. NONSENSE. and in the new films she is 17 in 1983, born in 1966, so 36 in 2002. Xavier was 30 in 1962, 32 for Magneto. 40-41 in 1973, 51 in 1983 and 60 in 1992. LUDICRUOUS, given we saw Xavier, aged 59, in 2002( born 1943, based on movie) and Magneto aged 60. Thus in 1986 we saw them in X3 ,aged, 43 and 44, HILARIOUS! And in 1979,as we saw old Xavier, he was 36! HILARIOUS!

@@Immortal_Liberty honestly i felt the original comment was bullshit and just a flex that he knew since he is such a big xman faan uga buga. Thank you for giving him a reality check.
20th Century Fox did such an awesome job with the X-Men, that it's a little hard to believe the MCU will do even a good job.
Good sarcasm
Oh for sure Marvel/MCU is going to destroy the X Men saga they had with 20th Century. I’m glad X Men had their own thing going on at the same time of Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, etc. X Men stood out and their plots aren’t cheap and full of dumb jokes.
@@freelikeyve i just love that the first x men movie came out before spider-man 1(same raimi trilogy) and had their own thing

@@professr9343 yes and no, sure the timeline is wonky, by the way, dark Phoenix is not canon to any of the movies so no need to worry there, but overall, it was more of a hit or miss franchise some of it was good. Some of it was bad some of it was mid. But overall pretty decent
Magneto and Xavier are like two side of the same coin
My head is spinning trying to remember all of these names and events while still watching the video. This was a good video though!
Thanks Looper. This timeline video helps alot as a person who watched almost all of these movies. It helps with understanding the actual new versus old timeline. As it was very confusing into knowing exactly, where, why, who, how and what happened through these franchise.

Thanks for putting in the effort on pointing this all out 😮
You should send all this work to the studio or even write an article and submit it for publication on how they effed up the X-Men Timeline. Your math is very convincing. It makes all the answers I gave a previous commenter's questions moot.
Not even to mention how jubilee was a teenager in both x men 1 and apocalypse, I've seen no one give an explanation for this
Old Timeline:
X-men First Class
Origins: Wolverine
X-men
X-2
The Last stand
Wolverine
X-men: Days of Future Past
New Timeline:
X-men: First Class
The New events of Days of Futures Past
X-men: Apocalypse
X-men: Dark Phoenix
X-men [Despite This making no sense because Jean should be dead]
X-2
The New Future introduced at the end of Days of Futures Past
Deadpool 1
Deadpool 2
Logan
The New Mutants
Here's a bright idea, ignore Dark Phoenix, everything would fit in
In the new future in the end of DOFP, the Sentinels never rise, so Logan doesn't time travel back, if so, Raven would kill Trask in 1973, the dark future is back, Logan travels back, prevent it, new happy future where Logan never traveled back so Trask dies in 1973, leading to dark future, Paradox, that's the plot hole
@@yudhazacharias9377 yep, I’m just gonna name a few more plot Holes
If Jean died in Dark Phoenix [which takes place in the 90s], than how the hell is she alive in That new Future, X-men 1-2,
You all heard this one: Dark Phoenix takes place 2 Decades after First Class, meaning that multiple characters should be looking older [Mystique can Shape-shift, So she doesn’t count]
Xavier never told The X-men about the Trask events
And when does Deadpool 1 and 2 even take place? They could take place In The modern day, But in DeadPool 2 the New, younger version of the X-men get a cameo, And Dark Phoenix and Apocalypse take place in the past, so does Deadpool 1 and 2 take place in the 90s? The early 2000s maybe? No, because there’s a reference to Frozen, which came out in 2013… What is wrong with this timeline…
@@yudhazacharias9377 Yeah forget what I said about the Dark Phoenix plot hole, It’s no longer canon
@@dominothealphaandomega5512 it's even the last X-Men movie to be released, the last one, if we ignore it, everything else fits in. Except the plot hole of DOFP where a Paradox should apply with the time travel there, erasing the dark future is also erasing the man who time traveled back in the first place, meaning the dark future would happen again, Logan traveled back in time, erasing the dark future and the whole reason he traveled back, Paradox bruh
So he’s just not gonna bring up the fact that Charles Xavier had a brain dead brother in a hospital that had his consciousness in him all along
Biggest plot hole is how Jean and Cyclops returns. The big space between Days of Future Past and Logan definitely needs to be filled. I'm guessing that's gonna be explained in the new Deadpool and x-men films, but still
So for know is days of future past right before Logan?? Or should I watch this
How?
I probably wanna say it has something to do with The Blip?

Thank you for doing this. I'm not nearly as confused now.
Fast forward to Deadpool playing with dead Logan
Great job explaining the timeline
I'm still bummed they didn't bring back Sabretooth for Logan to close out their chapter together
yeah they should’ve had an end credit scene with him where he meets laura and finds his brothers grave and sheds some tears but the original end was pretty much perfect
This was a nice rundown. I wonder how Fox's "The Gifted" series would fit into this timeline...
This will be more understandable if there's a literal timeline shown in the video.
Anyway, great video.
Damn - that was a lot of work by the Looper team. Great work!
All over the show, of course, but that's the X-Men for you!
even if you try to take everything into account, there are so many inconsistencies, it's crazy x)
- why in "Apocalypse", Logan is locked up at Stryker's, when it's Mystique who gets him at the end of "Days of Future Past" (being a good person in the new timeline, logically she should have taken him to the X-Men) ?
- why are Jean Grey and Cyclops alive when Logan wakes up in 2023 ? his actions prevented the Sentinels from being created, but I don't see how that has any bearing on the appearance of the Phoenix
- if Logan prevented the creation of the Sentinels and saved "our future", that means that the "new timeline" (the one in the reboot, with the younger actors) is linked to the classic timeline (and that it's not a parallel universe)... in this case, why is Jean Gray there in 2023 when Logan wakes up when she dies in the 70s/80s in "Dark Phoenix" ?
Time travel is just a disaster anyway.
this video is going to help a lot of Deadpool 3 watchers
Brilliantly explained. Thank you!
what i got from the trask assassination is:
Trask: *tried to commit genocide on all mutants*
Mutant (Mystique): *assassinates Trask*
The public: :0 Mutants bad.
Great. Now do Deadpool and Wolverine.
I think you Looper guys need to learn the difference between “explain” and Recap.
This place is a shill RUclips channel for painfully unaware normies
The ending to Logan was such a bitter-sweet ending and i loved it. I'm glad i had the honour of seeing it in theatres as a child.
Nice, nice, but this timeline is missing the Legion series. That too is part of the X-Men Timeline.
And its also forget the show The Gifted that was on Fox for 2 seasons.
THhanks i was very confused and this cleared alot of things up for me
"Logan body consciousness is transport back into his body in 2023"
Perfect timing year as well. That year is when Avenger Endgame bought everyone back from dusted and Loki mess up whole multiverse, another clue of Disney MCU and Fox Marvel Multiverse will happening maybe 👀
This is the best timeline possible
Great mutated review ...I loved it😍😎
For better or for worse
I'll always prefer the X-MEN over the MCU
Same
In original timeline...
I'm gonna watch all of these in timeline order
Sinister, it has no connection with Logan.
i’ve been really wanting to get into the x-men and marvel and dc etc for a while now so thank you for helping me start!

Ok ima try and sum this up best way i can If i made a mistake Comment below... This is to my own knowledge
OG TIMELINE (BY MOVIES NOT COMICS OR CARTOONS)
(1845 - X Men Orgins : *13 year old logan mutation occurs*
(1861 - 1975 : Logan and victor fight in the American Civil War, World War I, World War II. and the Vietnam War)
(1944 - Charles meets mystique / Erik in Concentration camp During WWII)
(1945 - Logan Saves Yashida From Nagasaki)
(1949 - **Non-Canon** Charles meets Erick *According to the original X men movie he states he was 17 when they meet*)
(1962 - X-Men first class (Charles meets Erick) / *Charles becomes Paralyzed* *CANON MOVIE In the ALT Timeline*)
(1967 - Trask Indrustries is created)
(1973 - Logan and victor meet Stryker Team X Is formed / Styker finds adamanitum rock /Trask dies due to mystique killing him / Mystique gets arrested and they get her DNA)
(1979 - Team X Is Disbanded/ *Logan got his Metal skeleton/claws* Fights non-canon deadpool/ Lost His memory; etc)
(2000 - X-Men Takes place *so when charles says 'its been almost 15 years' is non-canon its been 21 years since X-Men Orgins)
(2003 - X2)
(2006 - X3 : Charles gets 'Thanos'ed' By Jean But survives due to his Counterpart 'Brother')
(2013 - The Wolverine : Logan Goes to see Yashida From 1945 / Loses his healing Temporarily / Loses the Adamantium Claws / Sees Charles and erik again)
SO Heres Where it gets confusing
(2023 - Days of Futures past *Mutant extinction due to trask dying*
(Logan Time travels back to 1973)
ALT Timeline
(1973 - Mystique Doesn't kill trask So she doesn't get arrested and The Mutants don't die from the sentinels / Logans Body Is in the river and is Recovered by Stryker who is Mystique? *This part i dont get*)
(1983 - Apocalyspe wakes up Recruits Magneto and others / Logan escapes the Alkalai Lake Facility with adamantium claws with the help of Jean, Cyclops and nightcrawler)
(1992 - Dark Phoenix : Jean Accidently kills Mystique / Jean Explodes in space with the alien leader that tried to invade earth (Which makes no sense due to the 2023 events)
(2016 - Deadpool)
(2018 - Deadpool 2 : Deadpool Timetravels to 1979 to kill Weapon XI So Since deadpool has time traveling powers in tihs movie it would make sense how deadpool 3 takes place in this new 3rd timeline where Wade actually goes back to 1979?)
(2023 - Logan Wakes up in the new timeline from the 1973 Events)
(2028 - Professor X Indirectly Kills the X-Men Except Logan)
(2029 - Logan : Professor X Dies / Logan 'Dies' / Laura makes it to canada with the 'New' X men)

Hey I got something to make your understanding easier. Just don’t consider deadpool too much. Fourth wall breaks happen all the time in his movies.
One of the greatest movie franchise of all time
This is a perfect! This is exactly what I need without confusion :)
Excellent video 👍👍👍
You left out that the reason Professor X has a body after Jean Grey destroyed his is because he transferred his consciousness to his twin brother who's body was alive but mind wasn't (Comic). You also left out the series "Gifted" which are about mutants AFTER Professor X's seizure as stated in the series. It never mentions his name, just the event itself. Supposedly taking place about 7 years after the event, which means 6 years after Logan, parallel to "New Mutants"
finally someone who does it right, good job
I feel like starting all over again after watching this 😊
At end of Days of Future Past which is part of new timeline Jean Grey was seen alive, but in dark phoenix which is also set in new timeline but in past, she was shown dead ,then how was she alive at the end of Days of Future Past
There’s a post-credit scene in X3 that has this exact thing and introduces Moira
The post credits scene in X3 has Professor X as having transferred his consciousness to a body in the facility that was alluded to at the beginning of the movie.
Woah, this is like something out of a comic book!
Trask Industries and Stark industries - So innovative!!
That is overkill bro

Deapool is the reason for this video. Admit it.. 😊❤
It’s crazy how after all that how they saved the future Charles kills everybody so stupid 🤦🏽♂️
Understood enough to go watch the "Deadpool & Wolverine"🗿
You did it angain another great review of a great movie Franchise
10:04 in the previous movie where Xavier died. There is a post credit scene where he transfers his consciousness to a brain dead person and probably in front of moira mactaggert who is caretaking the sick man. And also he mentioned this previously in the movie also.
I know the timeline is wacky as all hell, but my biggest issue is the AMAZING comic accurate costumes at the end of apocalypse, and then the suuuuupppper lame 60s outfits in Dark Phoenix. WTF?
👍👍
In the new future in the end of DOFP, the Sentinels never rise, so Logan doesn't time travel back, if so, Raven would kill Trask in 1973, the dark future is back, Logan travels back, prevent it, new happy future where Logan never traveled back so Trask dies in 1973, leading to dark future, Paradox, that's the plot hole
Can’t wait for Deadpool 3
Honestly I’m impressed, you somehow managed to make sense out of this mess of a continuity
The X-Men timeline is very confusing
Yeah, that's one thing, another thing is that the new future in the end of DOFP, the Sentinels never rise, so Logan doesn't time travel back, if so, Raven would kill Trask in 1973, the dark future is back, Logan travels back, prevent it, new happy future where Logan never traveled back so Trask dies in 1973, leading to dark future, Paradox, that's the plot hole
me eagerly waiting for this just watched dark phoenix
confused by timeline
I'm so lost ...
Thank god its not only me 😂

Roberto (sunspot) from new mutants is also in the future events of Days of Future Past but played by a different actor
How was Jean an adult in 1983 Apocalypse events but an 8 year old in 1992? I got confused from 11:30 to 12:45
I say in the new timeline everyone look younger age good better than people on old timeline.
this is confusing
the new timeline after days of future past probably affected their date of birth, for example. jean was originally born on 1984 on the orignal timeline, and then after the events of days of future past where they changed the timeline, jean was born somewhere after 1973 😄😄
One thing I still don't understand is how Logan wakes up in the new timeline (after the events of Days Of Future Past), and Jean is there. I know that since history was changed, the whole Stryker shenanigans probably didn't happen, but how come Jean is there if she 'dies' in Dark Phoenix? Maybe another X-Men movie will explain this, but I think it's one of the major mistakes.
It's just an oversight.
I wouldn't say that Magneto is immune to the cure. The cure is only temporary. The reason they didn't show any other mutants that were cured is probably because the filmmakers wanted to wait till the revelation at the end of X3.
Rogue and mystic were both cured
