The blades can be a very confusing subject for many new and experienced barbers. I had tons of people asking for a video like this explaining when were and how we should be setting up our blades. The taper blade is a must for all and you will also need a fade blade but there is something in the middle the Fusion or Faper blade as we are now calling it.

I've been out of the blades game for a while, I do have a slimline pro trimmer so I'll checkout that newer alternative trimmer blade & thee other Fade & Tapper blades you mentioned. I might have to re watch this bc I can't remember the one you said that costs less than most, I'm not big on spending big $ on blades.

Great information... I would add Oster and Andis use the same type of system for the purple guards with almost everything else being the Wahl system. Can you explain the cutter blade differences too for clippers and trimmers? (Deep tooth vs shallow tooth)

I have a faper blade. It seems to be the exact same dimensions as a fade blade from my magic clips. How is it more forgiving? What I see is that there's less friction due to the ridges, so it moves smoother.

just my opinion, but the wahl staggertooth blade is still my personal favorite! ...wahl is still & always will be my trusted daily go-to, because they WORK! ...& personally, i threw my gamma/sc crap in the garbage can where that TRASH belongs... they will NEVER get another dollar outta my pocket again! ...ill take wahl or babyliss over gamma/sc all day every day... but hey, thats me... & if u havent tried the new gold "more powerful" magic, u should ...or u could just put the staggertooth blade on ur seniors like i did, its basically the same as the new magics... always enjoy ur videos man, thank u sir

No Babyliss blades don’t fit the Saber. The blades that come on the saber are the xpro with the one blade cutter they are way more quiet than Babyliss blades

I used to just use a wahl (home use line) from walmart I bought. Want to upgrade to a professional grade one.

@@RUclipsBarberAcademy Kinda interesting that they can get this type of power out of cordless. The battery takes up a lot of space. That space was occupied by all motor before. Now they have to somehow have a motor and battery in the same space, and make it ergonomic.

Yes. But I only use it to remove the skin line. I use a taper blade to fade now as it's easier to fade with.
the stagger tooth made it a bit more easy to detail a fade as you fade but i guess people learned different techniques or like thinner blades
@@Dominicreviews Agreed. Magic clips' blade takes out the skin line/trimmer line effortlessly, and taper blades blend so easily.
Still one of my favorite to fade with. For me the magic clips are best for the low or compressed fades. For the stretched out or mid to high fades it's either the babyliss FX, Jrl, or my personal favorite the cordless fast feeds. I hardly ever use the rebel and I'm not really feeling that fusion blade honestly.

GUYS! I have a question.. i have gamma+ absolute alpha rotary motor cliper aaaaaaaaaaaaand gamma+ x-ergo magnetic motor clipper. In my case.. situation is different than he said. How can x-ergo 10000RPM be forgiving? It hits like a crazy.. almost like a trimmer. I am using it to remove bulks and stuff. In other hand i have Alpha which is.. most forgiving clipper that i have right now. It has problems removing bulks etc. it is only 7200RPM and so.. You got my point.
So am i dumb enough to not understand basic principles or something strange had happened in my case?
The X ergo will outperform the alpha but rpm has nothing to do with torque magnetic motors run, much faster than rotary motors but put out less torque

Getting back to the point. It is not a mistake having faper blade on alpha and doing harsh lines with it.. and doing harder work, for example debulking, with xergo with taper? Coz i am confused.

I received the trimmer and clipper from Stylecraft. The Rebel Shaver hit. I’ve the BabyLiss FX3 & metal Double Foil Shaver and it shaves me way closer than they do. The trimmer hit coming out of the box. In my opinion there is no need to “zero gap”. Super quiet compared to my 4 FX Trimmers. It’s slippery when holding so I will put a trimmer band around it. I’m still testing to see how long the battery life is. So far these two items meets my short term goals. I will have to continue to use them to see how they perform long-term. Both items don’t have a track record yet, so I would invest only, if you purchasing an additional or replacing a trimmer or shaver.
My dlc blade is dog shit I’m going to try and switch it with the gold fx blade
