He didn’t miscount, he just assumed odds were in his favour, as he knew it was a 50% chance of shooting a live round. Edit: most of the time, 50% usually means shooting a live round
Well, a mix of him putting good thought into his decisions, the dealer being dumb, and lucky items. The game is also, truthfully, pretty easy as long as you're keeping track of the shells
The fact that the "Yes" button has been pressed by everyone because it has marks on it and the "No" button is clean is a very good and horrifying detail.
8:50 "cause i knew that was gonna happen..well i didn't know that's gonna happen but i had a good feeling bout that's gonna happen and that's the same as knowing" That is actually smart
the dealer let's the player start every round even after shooting himself with a blank, which is more than fair, but he doesn't really seem to mind losing given how often he shoots himself.
I’m salty and coping because of how damn lucky Markiplier was with the AI. Everytime I play double or nothing, my Dealer keeps getting all the power ups and also keeps making the absolute perfect decisions every round. My Dealer definitely seems to mind losing.
5:27 "TRY ME!" Famous last words 7:28 "i don't know what the wizdom of his maneuvers are because it doesn't seem like they're very wizdomated" Hmmm, very sentance
14:04 Starts out with 3/3, 3 live and 3 blanks First shot is blank, 3/2 Dealer racks out a live, 2/2 Dealer shoots himself, 1/2 Mark looks in and sees a blank, 1/1 Where Mark messed up is he thought the Dealer racked out a blank when it was actually a live
Lixian screwed up and said 2 lives one blank. It was 2 blanks one live. Where mark messed up wasn’t seeing the racked out shell but he said it wrong to himself when he checked the shell then acted on it without realising he said it wrong
The dealer tosses a coin if he doesn't know what the round is, always knows what it is when it's the last round, and uses items as soon as reasonable. There's one glitch I know of, where if he sees a blank with a magnifying glass and chugs a beer to clear it, he still thinks it's a blank in the chamber so will invariably shoot himself.
the dealer's AI works like this: 1. The dealer will always use any and all the items he can at any turn, he uses them in the order he gets them (which we can't see) 2. If he uses a magnifying glass, sees it's a blank, then uses a beer and racks the shotgun, he STILL thinks it's a blank and will shoot himself anyway (same with if it's a live, he'll shoot the player no matter what) 3. The dealer's AI DOES NOT KNOW STATISTICS! Every time it's his turn he flips a coin and shoots either himself or the player, he only knows what the very last shell is
I don't think it does know what the last shell is considering it was a live one of the rounds and he still shot himself. I don't believe this is how the AI works. Nice theory though.
@@KlausWayland there is a full AI breakdown video on delightful kissboy's channel, with another video on correcting the mistakes he makes explaining the ai (basically only the item usage order as in the original video, he says it's random when it's not), and it says the exact same thing this comment does
Mark's gambling with strong guess of possibilities, and honestly i like this game as you need to figure out every possibilities that may will occur, and you have to either take one of those and bet it, or let it slide.
7:30 , there is a youtube video that goes into the deals AI more in-depth but the tl;dr is that it spams items (except knife which it only uses when it is going to try to shoot you) and chooses who to shoot with a 50/50 coin toss. The only times it doesn't shoot 50/50 is when it knows what the next bullet is, it only knows the next bullet when using the magnifying glass and when it's on the final bullet. There is also a funny bug he can do where he sees a blank with the magnifying glass and then drinks beer he will still think that the blank is the next bullet.
That's not a bug. If it isn't the last round, the dealer doesn't know. So it's just 50/50 to shoot the player or themself. Half of all shots after the dealer racks a blank will go to themself, unless there's only one shot left.
@@iamcxd9782 So can you confirm that the dealer does not always shoot himself after seeing a blank and drinking a beer? If he always shoots himself it's a bug but if it is 50/50 it isn't. As far as consensus goes people think it's a bug.
Mark is genuinely the most skilled person I've seen play this game, there were a few times where I thought he misplayed only to see he was thinking more moves ahead. He plays this game like chess.
i rarely comment on youtube, but i have seen someone use “death” as a name, and when they played using that name, they had an easter egg when they lost all their lives. i won’t spoil it, but i think having the “easter egg names” are only triggered by death sequences or etc in the game as long as you’re using the name when you start. it doesn’t just automatically give you an easter egg, at least i don’t think it does
22:12 The "tricky bit" is apparently counting that you've racked all the blanks and only have live rounds left. Inability to count is only rivaled by the AI being even worse than Mark, wild how often it shot itself when only live rounds remained
Yeah, the dealer's AI is really dumb, unless it's the LAST shell in the shotgun OR he used the magnifying glass, it's literally 50/50. the dealer also uses all items as soon as he can. So even if he knows it is a blank because he used a magnifying glass, if he has beer, he will use the beer instead, and since he doesn't know anymore, and it probably wasn't the last one in the gun, it's back to just being 50/50
@@timothyt666Actually, there’s a glitch with that. If he uses the magnifying glass and then the beer, his AI still thinks it’s a blank in the chamber. So even if he racked out the last blank, he’ll always shoot himself after that, unless it’s the last bullet in the chamber because that overrides the previous knowledge.
That and make sure that the odds are in our favour cause even in 50/50 scenario it can goofed us at anytime soon and even the small odds of getting live rounds can goofed us out
13:46 for this round: the bullets start at 3 lives 3 blanks (3:3) mark shoots a blank (3:2) dealer racks a live (2:2) dealer shoots a live (1:2) mark shoots a blank (1:1) mark shoots a blank (1:0) dealer shoots a live (0:0) mark seems to have got confused and thought the dealer racked a blank
The crazy thing is I've seen a few other people play this game and the Dealer was always way smarter with them than he is with Mark. For example, when watching 8-BitRyan play this game, the Dealer almost seemed like he was strategizing like Mark and only made a couple of bad calls when choosing to shoot himself.
Mark at 14:48 be like: “Okay, so there’s 2 blanks.” *Checks next shell* “Okay, so that’s a blank.” *Shoots self* “Okay, so that’s all the blanks.” *Shoots blank at Dealer* “What, where’d that blank come from?”

@WheresTheMoneyLebowski Obscuring one or more of the shells at the start of each round, reworking the AI a bit, making it a three-way shootout. There are a lot of little changes that you can make to the base game that make decisions less simple. Right now there's pretty much always a right decision based on probability and it's kind of easy to figure it out. Especially in the later rounds, it shouldn't be as easy to arrive at such certainty.

i don’t think it’s luck. mark thinks about his moves so well, he somehow knows the stats. especially in the first video you can hear him doing the math.
small tip, dealer always knows the last shell in the chamber, but otherwise he flips a coin to shoot you or himself, and he tries to use as many items as early as possible, while not being a waste, ie hw wont smoke on full health or use a saw when he shoots himself, tho there is a bug where he thinks he knows the round if he checks it and racks it before fireing.

it's because The A.I. has no probability algorithms. it's programed to use all the items when it can and only knows what the last shell is. It will make a coin flip on any other shot with the exception if it used the magnifying glass. So if the dealer shoots itself when there are no blanks left, it's because it lost the coinflip. Also due to a bug, If the Dealer uses the magnifying glass and then drings beer, the dealer still things the next shell is the one it saw with the magnifying glass.
@@ninjahedgehog5 yeah i know how the ai works (I've seen kissboys video about it) but it's still funny when it just eats a live shell for no reason at all

However there is a bug/oversight where the beer doesn't clear his memory of what shell he has, so he can identify a round, use a beer, and do the wrong play there (ie, he had a blank, drank beer, then shoots himself with a live round)

I love the music in this game, even if it's repetitive and simple, the way its used is perfect, kicking up after a shot, speeding up after double or nothing, slowing down after a dealer death, with the second death making it go mute for a few moments, and with a slightly different track for each round. It works very well with the sound effects

Lixian screwed up and said 2 lives one blank. It was 2 blanks one live. Where mark messed up wasn’t seeing the racked out shell but he said it wrong to himself when he checked the shell then acted on it without realising he said it wrong
Though he counted the racked out shell when he was trying to make sense of it
@@primeknight4274no lixian meant two lives and one blank were used up so far which is correct
The dealer tosses a coin if he doesn't know what the round is, always knows what it is when it's the last round, and uses items as soon as reasonable. There's one glitch I know of, where if he sees a blank with a magnifying glass and chugs a beer to clear it, he still thinks it's a blank in the chamber so will invariably shoot himself.
not as soon as reasonable, but as soon as possible unless the item will do nothing.
@@snailofkale Right, that's what I meant by "as soon as reasonable".
@@MorningDusk7734 i figured but its not very reasonable to eject a bullet when you knew what it was lol
Alcohol makes you forget things. Seems about right.
the dealer's AI works like this:
1. The dealer will always use any and all the items he can at any turn, he uses them in the order he gets them (which we can't see)
2. If he uses a magnifying glass, sees it's a blank, then uses a beer and racks the shotgun, he STILL thinks it's a blank and will shoot himself anyway (same with if it's a live, he'll shoot the player no matter what)
3. The dealer's AI DOES NOT KNOW STATISTICS! Every time it's his turn he flips a coin and shoots either himself or the player, he only knows what the very last shell is
It doesn't seem that he uses items in the order he gets them. He's an alcoholic and will use those all in a row.
thank you for this explanation! I honestly thought it was rigged to be easier for guys named "Mark" before reading this lol
I don't think it does know what the last shell is considering it was a live one of the rounds and he still shot himself. I don't believe this is how the AI works. Nice theory though.
@@KlausWayland there were 2 lives that round, so it didn't know what they were
@@KlausWayland there is a full AI breakdown video on delightful kissboy's channel, with another video on correcting the mistakes he makes explaining the ai (basically only the item usage order as in the original video, he says it's random when it's not), and it says the exact same thing this comment does
Mark's gambling with strong guess of possibilities, and honestly i like this game as you need to figure out every possibilities that may will occur, and you have to either take one of those and bet it, or let it slide.
The demon got demolished last time it looked at Mark like: “Oh god he’s back please no”
7:30 , there is a youtube video that goes into the deals AI more in-depth but the tl;dr is that it spams items (except knife which it only uses when it is going to try to shoot you) and chooses who to shoot with a 50/50 coin toss.
I think that bug literally happened in Mark's video lmao
That's not a bug.
If it isn't the last round, the dealer doesn't know.
So it's just 50/50 to shoot the player or themself.
Half of all shots after the dealer racks a blank will go to themself, unless there's only one shot left.
@@iamcxd9782 So can you confirm that the dealer does not always shoot himself after seeing a blank and drinking a beer? If he always shoots himself it's a bug but if it is 50/50 it isn't. As far as consensus goes people think it's a bug.

5:25 just the delayed flash on Mark’s face killed me
22:12 The "tricky bit" is apparently counting that you've racked all the blanks and only have live rounds left.
Artificial Intelligence when Natural Stupidity walks in

There are a lot of little changes that you can make to the base game that make decisions less simple. it's because The A.I. has no probability algorithms. it's programed to use all the items when it can and only knows what the last shell is.
