Who's here to confirm spectators rushing in and Willis' field change to off side after watching 83? 😅

Me too I wanted to see the real one too

Still remember those days. Those 24 overs that Jimmy and Kirti bowled in tandem in which they strangled the batsmen, also took 3 wickets was one of the turning points....
Also the way that Yashpal Jimmy and Sandip batted
The game ended at just about 10.30 - 11 pm. Nostalgic
51 runs of 32 balls in 1983 what a great bats man sandip patil was ,,,,so talented

I watched the movie 83, TBH it has really made on improved standard for cricket movies. Flawless as far as i think.
This is how highlights should be presented. Not just boundaries and wickets. Very comprehensive!
Absolutely right ❤
It's a 47 min highlight morris it's usually telecasted during the late nights the highlights on during waking hours are much shorter than that
Absolutely stunning and comprihenvsive victory of young Indian team.We could not see it in DD the only Indian channel at that time to telecast. We used to see matches on TV of neighbors at that time because most of parents at that time were against purchasing TV by considering it disturbing element which can divert attention of students from study. We could only dream to see it on coloured TV which came true now. All wish to see golden knock of 175 not out of Kapil dev which is still missing on media
You cannot see Kapil's innings vs Zimbabwe BBC crew on strike that day hence that Kapil's innings was not recorded
What a match, had watched it as a kid. Now watching the same, and looking at the kind of commitment to that was demonstrated by the Indian team, who had nothing to loose. Sad to hear that Shri Yashpal Sharma from the team is no more. But what a game he played. Phenomenal. 1983 will be remembered and cherished.
Magnificent wonderful excellent excitement glorious fantastic fabulous historical marvelous tremendous moments in the ONE DAY CRICKET WORLD CUP History BY Indian team the men in WHITE under the superb supervision of SKIPPER (CAPTAIN) KAPILDEV the ever great cricket legend.

I was in the ground age 16 under the scoreboard with my relatives.I am Asian of Indian origin from Punjab.I can remember the whole day. Did you know we just queued up and bought tickets on the day on the day of the semi final. The ground was also full of English people.
Were English racist back then ?
@@SuperAdobeFlash No the crowd was very well behaved all day and no one in the ground expected an Indian Victory .

Wow,
🌹
The best Indian side ever. Every player did his job. Love to see this team play.
Man of the Match semifinal and the finals 1983 World Cup Hero Super Star Mohinder Amarnath is the most highly underrated player in the world. 1982 Imran Khan said he is the best in the world for playing fast bowling especially Bouncers short deliveries highest scorer in that 1982 series in Pakistan , 1982 1983 West Indies tours Viv Richards said Jimmy Amarnath plays west indian bowlers and all global quick genuine fast bowlers the best. I have seen him play since 1980s he got hit on head jaws face nose got injured the most like no other player ever in cricket history you can check about him and you will be shocked to know how brave and courageously Mohinder Amarnath hit the hook shots with ease to the worlds fastest bowlers.
Grate family of players. His brother surendra amaranth top class batsman having most 100 runs partners in first class cricket. all the three did get the right recognization in Indian cricket history.
Mohinder(Jimmy) Amarnath was not only brave, courageous, fearless player. He was also talented and most technically perfect batsman with all the shots all round the wicket. Politics played a major part in his career. Yet he made the most come backs in test as well as one day cricket.
No wonder Imran Khan, Viv Richards and past Australian crickets have a lot of respect for him.
Surinder Amarnath elder brother of Mohinder Amarnath was an electrifying, talented and audacious stroke player who was undone due to ugly politics.
So was Sandeep Patil. His 174 against Australia at Adelaide in 1981 was a superlative knock. He hammered Lillee and Pascoe and the other Australian bowlers.
After viewing the movie 83. Felt like seeing the real match. Ooh! golden moments in India's cricketing lore.
...😊....these was real n genuine cricket ....players in white(including sweaters/caps etc) n umpires also in white dress.....the ball traditional red colour.... I don't follow why even icc have changed all this traditional dress code for players/umpires etc, ball colour etc....let it be in original n maintain the tradition/culture/code of cricket.....thanks....👍...
The commentators bias comes up when he said that the Indian supporters don't know how to count. A hint of racism?. Well sir, in reply I would like to point out that it was the Indians who gave the numerical system. If this doesn't say it all, I have more to add.
Yeh let them do the Math in Roman numerals :D , He doesn't know very well that we are tremendously emotional people, we can cross any line to celebrate for our heroes and vice versa, we can make them zero in no time. By the way I am from Pakistan which was a part of India 74 years ago.

More than a hint. Racist bias against Indians was fairly open in those days in the UK. It was also noticeable in Africa by the locals against Indian expatriates.
Nostalgia, I was watching this match at my Friend's place amidst several powercuts(a harsh reality in those days). Finally gave up and left, only to hear INdia won the match, the next day.

1983 world cup Indian cricket team were filled with full of stars and diamonds. Still they all are shining. Kapil Dev paaji has contributed a lot as a leader of that winning team. He is the first one in indian cricket who had started to won World Cup title tradition .
India tamed the lion in its den - the healines screamed in THE Hindu after this match. It's still feels like a dream after so many years. The transformation of Indian cricket kappened with each match of the 83 world cup. The world was no longer the same for Indian Cricket.
Wow it's so refreshing to see these legends in action 😍
You cannot be happy watching a film for these moments. The highlights are the ones which gives true happiness.
Gavaskar doesn't even look at the Umpire before walking; Randall insists that he hasn't caught the ball; the fielders accept the Umpire's decision over the attempted runout of Armanath, even though the replay shows him out of his ground; a mid-pitch conference between Patil and his smiling captain, obviously to do with whether he can get his fifty. Cricket before the bastard technology. England batted poorly after the first two - Gower unreliable as usual - and India's line and length superb. Never enough runs even in those days. I'd like to see more of Armanath's batting.
Thanks for uploading video
45:30 the moment that will be remembered forever
I came after watching 83 movie. To watch this magical moment 👏👏👏
OMG my favrt show. And i still remember the opening graphics and music. ❤️
It is tremendous victory for team India .

Can there be this bowling line up again ? NEVER EVER INDEED ! Imagine you have to face the very dangerous Andy Roberts Joel Garner next change is Michael Holding and Malcolm Marshall...all four very different and styles strategies . What an era that was and many have missed this era and will never ever understand what these 4 names were in bowling for oppositions and batsmen world over. I was 14 years old when I watched this match live on EC color TV at Air force SNCOs mess in Pune. What a match what n atmosphere we had in that location wow ....
I was 30 years old when I watched this live telecast on color tv (self made, experimental 4k tv at that time.).
And also generated electricity using turbine for my home made tv to watch The historic final.

I really liked the spirit in those days where i see more batsmen used to just walk. I think less money more joy , more money less joy :) --This would be an apt description of cricket when comparing past to the present.
Excellent compilation and presentation 👏👏👏👏
World cup is very memorable for every rashtra premi, credit goes to our team and specially Kapil paji
This semi final and the final, and winning the cup all led itself from Kapil's match saving innings against Rhodesia. He pulled victory out of the jaws of defeat and kept them in the tournament. This 83 world cup essentially announced India as the world cricket superpower it is today. Take away that Kapil Dev innings against Rhodesia, things might have been different. Most certainly they would have been knocked out of this tournament and hence they would have been no world cup victory. India's greatest cricketer - Kapil Dev.

It was a crazy happy evening for a cricket crazy teenaged me and my family 😁 those days India winning in ODIs was a fantasy
After the last ball everybody just ran Irrespective of where the ball was going 🤣🤣🤣 run run Invasion
No one was interested in what happened to the ball - everyone had just one thing on their mind - self-preservation - dignity be damned!
LMAO and they didn't took the run.
Really VERRY VERRY GOOD JOB SIR, I Like it

Thanks for posting.
6 fours in an over hit by Sandeep Patil against Bob Willis in 1982 Test match was unbelievable in those days;
Until then, only Rohan Kanhai had done better taking 28 runs off Sarfaraz Nawaz in 1975 World Cup.
It was not in worldcup.it was in one of the tests played in england
@@vikramrazdan5680 Patil hit Willis for 6 fours in an over at Manchester in 1982. It was a 7-ball over and this fact is well known to all those who participate in cricket trivia. Patil scored 129 in 196 balls in that match with 18 fours and 2 sixes. This did not happen in the 1983 world cup semifinal. Your memory is fading, "old guy".

I remember bunking off school to watch this epic match.
We all know how much cricket matches are popular and common these days, how was it like to watch cricket matches in those days sir? Not looking at the current day cricket, what was the cricket like back then?
@@GurmeetSingh-es3mn I started watching cricket from 1982 and we had four great allrounders Kapel Dev Botham Imran Khan and Hadlee. The West Indies were a great side to watch the West Indian fans used to come in their thousands. County cricket had great overseas players like Hadlee Marshall Viv Richards Greenidge Sylvester Clarke Miandad Garner kapel Dev Imran Khan and many more .White ball cricket was only played in Australia. Test Matches had a rest day normally after 3 days tail enders couldn't bat at all but were entertaining to watch. fielding was average. Some batsmen used to remove their helmets against teams like Sri Lanka India New Zealand and Pakistan. In ODIs bowlers were much more in the game they never got smashed with those huge but light bats we use today. World Cup games were 60 overs a side and if you got 270 that was a unbeatable score. Great fun times.
@@jahno7154 oh my,, the helmet thing sounded like us when we use to play school cricket, funny incidents. And I have read most of the things you shared from cricket books and interviews, it's fascinating to me trying to imagine those days when you have actually lived at that time. These things are ok we can get these type of stuff in books, but I'd like to know more, like how and was cricket matches affected from outside the ground? Was it normal to see something like that? And what was the craze of the cricket even when you see something gaining people's interest?
Sorry for making it too long, just one more thing, what one thing do you think back then made cricket, "the" cricket, which is it today?
The memorable year 1983 in which India went on to win the Prudential World Cup in cricket and later after three years in 1986 Argentina won the World Cup in soccer. Either team was awesome for their marvellous play.
Well done yashpal
Well done Deepti Sharma

Great match, great victory at lord,s for india that year.

This was so funny in the end? Kapil dev ran off the ground immediately knowing that Indian's would rush in and try to hug him. 😄

Congratulations team India
The best match played by India in entire tournament.
During the 1983 World Cup, in six matches Gavaskar scored only 59 with an average of just 9.83. His highest score was 25. Srikkanth was playing T20 type batting in a 60 over match - Was it because Kapil was captain ?
It was his natural style, he was an attacking batsman from the start.
@@Timberwolf1992 I think the question was, did Gavaskar tank deliberately since Kapil was the captain ?
@@marvin.mcfly7749can't be certain. But SMG had mentioned in interviews it took him quite a lot of time to adjust to the dynamics of ODIs irrespective of who was the captain. However, under Kapil's captaincy during his final years in international cricket, Gavaskar was indeed prolific as witnessed in the Australian tri-series in 1986 and the 1987 World Cup.
*We'd seen this match at our village Asalpur-Jobner Tehsil Sambhar Lake in Jaipur District of Rajasthan*
India's previous league matches were not shown live since Doordarshan didn't make arrangements thinking India will fare poorly. Because India were good in test matches only at that time. Since India unexpectedly reached the Semis, Doordarshan hurriedly arranged for the live telecast!
Nice victory by indian team
Verry good players 👏
I like the way Our team murdered England Team"s ARROGANCE , as before this match all english reporters & there supporters assumed that england team will enter to final easily . Sunil gavaskar facing mighty Bob Willis without helmet is the most heroic thing I have seen in this video....
All the Indian bowlers were bowling with a lot of discipline. They were doing the basics right which was the key to their success. All of them are looking really not stressed at all
Yes. All round cricketer's won the match for India. How humble and disciplined
yeah and that was also because the then indian team never imagined getting that far in the world cup. Kris Srikanth and some folks revealed it in their reunion ceremony. They were there to just enjoy the game and do shopping. But things started taking serious turn after they defeated windies in one of their league matches. That’s when the awakening happened and they fought with all grits and strength to win the cup eventually.

When did India lose its bowling track??? 1983 team had Kapil, Madan Lal, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Roger Binny …and Amarnath for backup. Man… love these men ! Champion stuff. Also, no Six pack abs, but these men were fit as a fiddle. Amarnath, Kapil, Patil, Yashpal Sharma etc look lean, mean fighting machines
Yashpal sharma miss you😘😘😘
Krish Srikant though he was not as stylish as others but in my view probably he was the innovator of the playing over the top as opener. What a stroke maker and fearless batsman he was but unfortunately he is underrated I think even in India.
