  • Watch the arrival of the morning train at Lochdubh in the summer of 1984 as 26040 crawls up to the stops here at the Highland terminus, the gateway to the Isles...
Lochdubh is my hi-fi micro cameo layout, just 60cm long, about 20cm deep. Sound recorded from 5310 on the Llangollen Railway.

That wonderful sound takes me back to the 1970's when these locomotives regularly worked passenger and freight duties around the Scottish region. From my home in Dundee I didn't have to travel far to watch the 26's and 27's in action. The sight and sound of the Sulzer type 2's evokes many happy memories for me!

Thanks Douglas, the sound is a welcome change to steam here in the valley too, I love seeing and hearing 5310 burble alongside the Dee.

That's lovely! Reminds me of my trip from Fort William to Mallaig, probably 1978, class 27, hanging out the window pretty much all the way, listening to the Sulzer echoing off the rocks.
