      Good for her? She had an affair with a married man and then left the baby into the adoption system without ever trying to find her.

      @@themindgayer5367 Bojack's dad was much more older than she was, he was also her boss, the power dynamic between them was unbalanced and im not saying that she has no fault in this but most of the blame was on Bojack's dad.
      Plus she was a maid AND going to school, she wouldn't be able to take care of that baby while keeping both herself and the baby afloat plus she didnt even want to put Hollyhock for adoption, Bojack's mom just made her do it.

      Dude she was extremely young and the maid their was a power imbalance and the couple weren't happy hell Bojack mom wasn't even that mad he was cheating on her just that he got her pregnant and ruined the girls life @@themindgayer5367

      @@cynic7581 mmm ok. Unless it's a hundred percent clarified he forced himself onto her, or coerced her into sleeping with him by threatening her job, it's absolutely equally her fault because she's an adult In charge of her own decisions. She never reached out even after having a functioning career, so clearly she didn't want the baby that badly. I don't have sympathy for people that are big enough to make the baby, but aren't big enough to take responsibility for it. Obviously this comes with exceptions, but this ain't one of them.

    The one good thing he did for Hollyhock and he didn't even want credit. I mean, he literally tells her small army of fathers, "You don't have to tell her I was here.... tell her I'm asshole."
    It was really a selfless deed he did for Hollyhock. Which was a step in the right direction, to be honest.
    It's a shame that it didn't work out, but he did affect her life in a positive manner even if they never speak again.

      Its sad too. Once you realise what Hollyhock mightve realised about Bojack, this feels like such a gross gesture. He goes above and beyond for young women. Bojack even finished when he heard Hollyhock, back when he thought she was his daughter.
      Bojack has power and I think Hollyhock was afraid of that.
      Though this was a super nice thing, its a bit soured given Bojack's personality and other actions.
      Kinda glad that Hollyhock left. Maybe itll give Bojack time to get his life on track and let Hollyhock heal.
      Such a good show.

      @ron4202
      Bojack didn't do it because she was a woman. I honestly feel that had Hollyhock been a long-lost son or brother, he would have done the same.
      There were no gross intentions behind finding her mom he didn't want credit.
      He just wanted her to find her mom for her sake.
      Bojack actually went up and beyond for people who are not women as well.
      Like it or not, he gave Todd free shelter and food for many years and rescued him from a cult.
      The baby sea horse nor their father was a woman and he saved baby sea horse with no ill intentions behind it.
      He did a lot of messed up things, I will admit, but not everything he does is some sort of selfish/evil intent.
      Although with all that said I could see why Hollyhock could potentially view it as something bad.

      @@Alisha120058yoooo this is exactly it! Bojack does these crazy big sit com moments things. Maybe he does them so he feels connected to the simplicity of TV or maybe he does them because he knows it’s what people really want deep down. To know someone, anyone would go out of their way to help even when you’re no longer speaking.

    • @Ashbrash1998

      @rachelomnom7373 He also does it because, like a sitcom, doing selfless things can make a person who was bad be redeemed. We saw that in a lot of sitcoms back in the day, and sure it IS selfless. But it also is self serving to Bojack, who does good stuff like this to make himself feel better about himself.

      Bojack ruined his chances of having Hollyhock in his life before he even met her.
      I'm pretty sure Hollyhock is a year YOUNGER than Penny, too

    • @faithkidwell9757
      @faithkidwell9757 4 дня назад +81

      Yeah but if you really listen to what he’s saying, he’s still trying to make himself sound like a hero, how he couldn’t rest until he did everything he could, how hard he worked to find her and did all of it. None of it is really about how this would be good for holly hock, just everything he went through. It was still really nice of him to do all that because it was a lot of effort but with how he’s talking about it, it seems like one of those classic Bojack stunts he pulls to convince himself he’s not a bad person.

      Not true, he genuinely was getting better and turning over a new leaf after rehab. He told Maud about tods asexual dating app, he cleaned dianes apartment, he gave princess caroline a speech that convinced her to rehire juda (which led to them eventually getting married). He just reverted back to his old self hard after the 2nd interview
