It's Alexis Tolstoy, not Ivan. "The Family of the Vourdalak" was first published in French in 1839 and the a few years before "Dracula in Russian. It is the closest version of the vampire myth being the only story where the vampire is not of noble birth and shows that the most gruesome element of is that the vampire haunts its own family.
Yes, I know. IDK why Karloff said Ivan. Especially when he played in the adaptation of the story. It's one of my favorite horror stories. The atmosphere is top notch. I like all the horror trilogy from Tolstoy (which also includes "The Vampire" and "The Reunion after 300 years"
A striking Boris, in that beautiful colorific, imported '60's atmosphere😁!!!!
Boris Karloff was such a great actor.
I love both the American version and Italian version of Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath is such a great film (In my opinion, one of the best films Boris ever did)
Rest in peace Mr Grinch 🙏💚
Boris Karloff is no doubt a super horror actor!!
When you get to my door, tell them Boris sent you.
