I was always told that the ribs were one of the worst spots pain wise, but the the one on my calf hurt more imo. I have one on my ribs and it goes up into my arm pit a little and onto my chest and back and the other is basically the whole back of my calf.
Im in the process of getting my calf tattoo'd. I was not expecting the amount of pain. I have both arms done and it was nothing. Calf im 7 hours in and two sessions deep. Still have one more session. Had to tap out both times, i feel bad for the artist but i was involuntarily twitching so he was fine with doing multiple sessions. Sucks to have them book 8 hours and only get paid for 3 though
@@EtherGaming604 if it were me (totally not being passive aggressive here just sharing my neurotic thoughts) I would calculate the cost of the time I wasted from their schedule and added that to the tip for tapping out. I wouldn’t give the whole thing but would probably explain it and give half since I couldn’t control it but I still caused inconvenience. All
Of that said because I’d really value that in an artist and would want that kind of kindness again from them for my future tattoos.
My first was the ribs.
The boney or sore bits on the shoulders and crook of the elbow were 10x worse. The belly surprisingly doesn’t hurt, but I laughed the whole time.
I'm getting my ribs soon and have my wrist, inner arm, and a few more and my calf was the wooorst and I felt so bad when my artist was like "such an easy spot" no m'am...
@@soxfan182 The artist is 250 an hour. I can't afford to give a 1250$ tip unfortunately.
I thought it was going to be about how to choose the actual place to get it from 💀
Same
Omg me too 😂
The things I've heard is that you should be able to google the name and an actual business shows up, not out of a home. They should have some kind of portfolio ideally online but most importantly unfiltered and healed photos. And if you walk in and it seems unsanitary at all just leave.
My first tattoo was on my rib it was a wording it hurt like a bitch but later when I got my other tattoos it was easier to sit through
This kind of makes me feel better, been thinking about getting a second tattoo but the first one was rough lol
My biggest thing is accidentally getting rid of a good spot for a future big tattoo with something small and simple that doesn't flow well with other tattoos. I don't wanna fuck up where I put it lol
That's actually really smart. Yeah bigger areas go with bigger pieces, i would pick a part of the body that fits the size of the tat if that makes sense. Like framing something
Yeah I think it's called bodyflow
My best advice: keep the mirror spot on your body blank! So, get a little one on your right bicep. Then leave your left bicep clear in case you want a big bicep tattoo, the option is still there
for my first tattoo i got a venus symbol on the back of my neck and it’s basic af but i love it even ten mostly big tattoos later. i still resonate deeply with the meaning, it looks classy and goes with everything
i just got my first tattoo yesterday, and it was on my ribs. i was so worried about the pain, but it was not NEARLY as bad as i thought it would be. a couple time it hurt kind of bad, but for the most part it was totally manageable
My first tattoo is gonna be on the ribs and I'm hyped but also worried about the pain.
But it's something I really want, so I'll just push through no matter what.
Good mindset. Always worth it. My first two were chest and ankle. And it made the rest of my arms and legs feel much better. Except knee and front of leg (but I still have a lot of space). But the pain is always worth it, at least to me
thought the same
Against the bone 🦴 is the worst. Ribs, head, ankle, wrist, top of foot sucked 😂
i'm getting my first on my outer thigh
-less pain
-easier to hide if i need too.
I might get one behind my ear, it’s easy to hide if needed and the only reason someone would look unless I show would probably be to put a black dot (because in my culture you put a black dot behind the ear so no one gives them the evil eye)
I’m getting mine on outer thigh with some facing the front. I’m scared as surprisingly I heard it hurts a lot.
This was me. First tattoo on my ribs on my 18th birthday. Fast forward 15 years and I nearly fell asleep during my collar bone tattoo. Yeah💪
i did my first tat on the ribs 3 days ago and honestly i think people hype up the pain it’s truly not that bad
I agree. A sternum tattoo was my first tattoo, and most of my other ones have not been as bad.
I'm getting my first on my stomach !! A lot of people say its the worst spot, it won't age well etc but its for me and as long as I take care of it it'll be fine besides I have a pretty high pain tolerance so I'll sit thru it no matter what.
How did that go for you? I’m thinking of getting my first tattoo on my stomach too
"TADDOO"
It’s called an accent
Not everyone sounds the same, not everyone has that “perfect” white American accent
😂😂
Why tf did she say it like that😭😂😂😂
My first tattoos were both of my hands. And I've loved them ever since
i ended up with it on the side of my calf, it hurt but it was SO worth it! i love it so much and my artist did such an amazing job! i’m absolutely going back to him!
my first was a behind the ear/neck tattoo. people in the shop kept asking if i was sure and i said yes. the pain was bad but not as bad as i was expecting. i don’t regret it for a bit. i would 1000% do it again if i needed too
I think this was what I needed to hear
Tattoos don't really hurt that bad. I was so surprised when I got my first tat and my others because of the lack of pain. I had it built up so much in my head.
What is a “Tadoo”.
My first tattoo was a little bee on my arm, I love it but the placement could have been better because now it interferes with the tattoos I want in the future! I wish I’d thought about it just a *tiny* bit more. I have 5 small tattoos now!
I just always check how clean the shop is first and of course if they have a social media page I like to look at their art and decide from there. Tattoos are addicting tho.
I have 16 hours on my ribcage and its bad, but the 22 hours on mu skullcap were the worst. Unless you have your entire head tattooed, you truly have no idea what pain is.
Man wish me luck, somebody that’s definitely a goal of mine but I have a lot of tattoos to get before then. Good on you!
Got three: both upper biceps and a half sleeve on my left forearm and the WORST place was the wrist bones and the vein cluster in the wrist. It was sheer torture.
Been debating on getting a big rib tattoo as my first tattoo and this I think just made up my mind for me.
I got a rub tattoo for my first tattoo and I love it. I’m glad I didn’t let people talk me out of it.
Thank you so much for saying this. My best friend literally told me when i was getting my first tattoo that i was extremely stupid for wanting it to be on my ribs so she basically made me change it to my forearm, and i was just thinking during that, that if i get my first tattoo on my ribs that is supposed to be the worst spot then i’m good for the rest of my tattoo journey cause if it hurts real bad the first time you have dealt with that pain so it shouldn’t be bad in other places. It probably still hurts but you know the “worst” pain already. Well anyways it ended up on my forearm and the pain was like a -5/10 it mostly just tickled.
I got my sternum for my first tattoo, it was a little overwhelming but all my other tattoos since have been less painful, worth it cause it looks cool as fuck
got my first tattoo on my sternum a few days ago. hurt like a btch on some spots but i’m so happy with it 🥰
I have both my ribs done, left side kinda hurt, right side not so much 😬
Got my first tattoo on my ribs a lot of lines and details, but it don’t regret it
My first and only so far is on my ribs. That hurt like a bitch but no breaks were had. I can take on anything
Yep did my first one on the hand then the fingers
Harley is really really handsome😊
My first tattoo was on my right hand and I remember everyone telling me how painful hand tattoos are but it was completely bearable
I only have one tattoo but it's on my outer thigh so it's almost always covered :) I'd like to get more tattoos, some in some more obvious spots
Every tattoo hurts 😂 some areas are definitely more tolerable than others. I got a full half sleeve and biceps were absolutely the worse part. I swore I would never get my other bicep tattooed. Few years later I got a bicep tattoo and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
First tattoo down my right thigh from hip to about three inches of the knee.
Realistic dragon dagger from power rangers. Took about 9 hours to do in one shot.
Every tattoo since then has been a cakewalk
Just started my first tattoo and I’m getting a half sleeve. I got the outline and most of the shading done on my first session but still got a bit more to go
My first tatto was on my ribs and tbh im so ticklish, that was harder than the pain
My first tattoo was a full rib tattoo piece and it covers my entire left side. I got it from an old school professional who is famous and cool. He was so nice to me about it. When it was all done, the young shop assistant asked if I wanted to get my other side tattooed. Before I could respond, he told her - “he could sit through it, no problem.”
Every tattoo I have gotten since - except one - was from him and I would never go to anyone else. The only tattoo I have that was not from him was for free and it was by a woman who is a famous, female tattoo artist and good friend of mine. Still - I only have one from her.
my first tat was sternum. I almost passed out but all my other tats will be leg tats so im gonna be fine
Never heard of a tadoo bit I think I want one
My first tattoo was on my ankle, then my second my shoulder blade. Honestly The ankle hurt so much more than the shoulder.
I only have one. I never really knew where I'd get one and my parents didn't want me to get one. Then, my grandmas died and I wanted to get one for them and my grandpas, so they allowed it. As soon as I knew what I wanted to get, I knew i wanted it on my forearm, so people, and I could see it clearly
My left bicep has nerve damage, so i figured either it’s an easy start or it’ll hurt so bad nothing else could hurt that bad. It was an easy start lol
I would recommend a tattoo shop.
Getting my first pro rib tattoo on my ribs next month.
My first tattoo was a big piece on my elbow. Got another piece the same size on my other elbow last weekend.
I got my second tatt on my ribs didn’t know that was the most common place that hurt when the guy told me and when he started doing it my ribs didn’t really hurt as much as it tickled
My first tattoo was on my hip, right on my pelvic bone and it just felt like little baby scratches. My second was on my ribs and I’m extremely ticklish so I was laughing the whole time and my third was on my sternum and I was just chatting it up with the tattoo artist, I went into each of those appointments scared and honestly the worst part is the noise of the tattoo gun but after a few seconds it just becomes background noise
my first two were my ribs, then thigh, then shoulder blade, then forearm, then chest; getting my shin/calf in 12 hours. so far ribs were the worst.
I been thinking about getting my whole neck done first or I’ll start with my forearm and get a sleeve
My first tattoo is on my left thigh. Its a lion and it’s not done yet. Lol. I’m scheduled to start my full sleeve in a month.
I’m a tattoo artist, I don’t mind clients insisting it getting the area they wish,it’s the sudden movement cuz of pain is what I’m worried, RIP to my lines 🥲
I got a full leg sleeve on my right leg of a traditional eastern dragon. For my first tattoo. It hurt, but it’s soooo sick. I love his cute little pink ears, I smile so hard whenever I look at the goofy lil face.
Sorry. Traditional Japanese
My first tattoo was my worst tattoo so that way all of my other tattoos just flew by and barely hurt😊
My first was down my whole spine
My first tattoo was a flash sale for Friday the 13th I waited 6 hours in line to get tattooed and got tattooed around 12 or 1 am but tipped a huge tip because I was my tattoo artist 28th tattoo of the day 😭
I would love to get a rose tattoo on my rib or a spine tattoo, or a hip tattoo, 🤷♀️
i deliberately got mine in places where the skin won’t stretch or warp much if i gain/lose weight because i have certain health issues that limit me in that way. plus I had to avoid areas where I might need to be cut into surgically for now because i wouldn’t want my beautiful tattoos to be hacked up and stitched back up unevenly / have scar tissue running through them after the fact. better to later get a tattoo incorporating whatever scar that ends up being there.
my first was on my collarbone and the upper part of my sternum, and the second which i decided to get on impulse the same day is on my upper back. 8 hour day in the studio, and really only the thicker liner on my back for the outlines really hurt. tolerable though.
That's a factttttt
My first tattoo was a full back tattoo 😅
Rib tattoo always hurt! That I know😂😂😂
I wanna get a back tat
Should have some thought on the subject. ❤ I will decide at that time when I feel like it I guess 🎉😂❤
my first tattoo was done on my ribs, didn't rly hurt.
My first tat was an ankle tattoo and i heard it was gonna suck bc of all the bone but i ended up barely even feeling it. Meanwhile the one on my bicep had me remembering to breathe 💀
Got my snake going round my bicep up to my shoulder and it went into my armpit for my first 😂
I'd love a chest tattoo
How long does it take for an artist take to respond? She asked me to pay for the deposit and I asked for her bank details and that was 2 weeks ago
My first tatt was my rib cage
I got mine on my wrist and after 4 hours it hurt really bad but easy to sit through
I feel like this is kinda dumb but when I’ve imagined my tattoo I’m planning on getting it’s always on my left wrist which is weird bc I’m right handed but I find it more natural to look down at my left
I just got my first tattoo and its like 4 bird and it's on my collar bone and a bit of my shoulder and honestly it wasn't that bad.
my firist tats wer on both of my ribs, such an easy ride from start to finish - but then i got one on my hip that kinda bothered me,
I got my first one behind my ear
Are ribs suppose to be the most painful?
I'm thinking of getting some tattoos on my forearms
Yeah I got my first one on my back, it's went into some boney areas. I was sitting pretty for it, and all the other ones I've gotten after have been pretty chill. The only one that wasn't as good was the one that has color... I don't think I can do color tattoos/ones with full ink on sections.
Only lines and shading for me pls
I got a small rib tattoo as my first tattoo
Does it hurt to tattoo between the fingers?
My 1st tattoo was on my ribs under my arm and i didnt feel it at all
I did my collarbone 💀 then forearm, and then my thigh
I mean it did hurt a fuckton but id do it again
I wanna get my first on the area where the bra strap is and I wonder how much it'll hurt cause most places dont really say..
I Asked My Family And Friends That Have Tattoos. They Kept Saying That The Shoulder Blade Wasn't Very Bad. So I Got It On My Shoulder Blade. It Didn't Hurt As Bad As My Brain Thought It Would. But The Sounds Of The Machine Was Awful And Right Next To My Ear. Made It Very Hard To Sit Still. Definitely Gonna Wear Headphones Next Time
I’m going to get my first tattoo soon and I am panicking on where to put it. I don’t want to put it on certain parts of my body because I’m losing weight pretty rapidly and I don’t wanna put in a place that will stretch out. Also, my future career may involve working with children and I can’t have any offensive, tattoos or tattos really showing on my arms or my leg or neck and up. So now I’m just like trying to find somewhere. Because it’s a middle finger tattoo and I’m getting a friendship tattoo with a bunch of other friends and I really like the tattoo on its own as well. And I think it’s a good first tattoo to be spontaneous and I’m freaking out about placement. Also because I do have like future tattoo plans so there’s certain places where I don’t wanna ruin if I getting a tiny weird tattoo also, I’m not telling my parents I’m getting it because we all know how that ends. Basically I’m just running around in a circle without a head.
My advice. 1) wait until you are finished with the rappid weight loss to get the tattoo. It will help in the long run.
2) thiers no rush. You talk about getting a "spontaneous tattoo". But you are already thinking about it and talking about it so its not really spontaneous anymore lol. So just wait till you are 100%.
3) middle finger is a terrible idea fora first tattoo, especially if you want to work with children. Thiers plenty of other ideas out thier so why get something that WILL be taken as offensive to lots of people/kids. Its ur body you do you tho👍👍
I had mine right on my collarbone. Hurt like a bitch, but my pain tolerance is high. Worse one so far was my sternum. I’ve had chest, collarbone, forearm, ankle, fingers, hand and sternum done so far- sternum was by far the spiciest.
Why did i think they meant where as in the shop
Bro, if you want to get a tattoo. Just go all out, the pain is part of the experience.
Ask people you know with tattoos. Ask them where is clean and quality. Ask them what artists they like.
Then most importantly: look at the artist’s portfolio that you’re planning on choosing and find an artist that does exactly the style you want. Because most artists can do whatever idea you bring them, but if you find someone and you love everything in their portfolio, you’re more likely to be pleased with the results of yours.
Edit: I’m stupid. Where on the body 😂 yeah, get it where you want to have it forever.
This was still really good & useful advice!!
My first tattoo was a massive rib tattoo. Basically a modern tribal covering my entire frontal rib cage/sternum. Yes, it hurt but i lived 😂. Pain is temporary
I got my palm tatted it faded but the top of my hands Imm get tatted so I think I understand the pain of it more cause lord palms bruh felt the allfather upper cut me
First tattoo was script down my ribs onto my stomach.
First tat 3.5 hour sitting on my back ... calf still hurt like hell, shin, inner bicep
First time spine.. rest of life was easy mode
I got a fucking rib tat as my first tat holy shit it hurt
okay my first tattoo wasn't painful at all, i can just feel the prickly sensation but it doesn't hurt too bad, i had my late grandma's name tattooed behind my upper arm, it was worth it, she'll always be in my heart forever, now the question is what tattoo i should get next 😂 it's confusing, I got a lot going on in my mind
Love how dude already knows that there's going to be more.
No one can stop @ just one.
"Once you pop, you can't stop." 😅
Hey uh there whoever’s reading, if your experienced or have some experience with tattoos I need some help. I was gifted a tattoo gun to hopefully help me in the future to peruse it as a career further on. But whenever I use the tattoo gun and the fake skin the ink is blotchy and very faint I regularly have to go over the same design to get the tattoo to work could I be doing something wrong?
Cool 😎 😊
