- Mcdoubles back again with a brand new video and today we're back on classless WoW Season 9 to try and obtain a build that is both fun to play, strong, and capable of progressing deep into the Manastorm with. Will this be the one?
I get a lot of AoE and its a whole lot of fun to play but we definitely encounter the elusive 'squishy' feeling that we definitely did not have in previous builds. We make some decent progress and I decide that I think my major goal for this season will be to try and make it on the Manastorm leaderboard before it all ends.

Whenever you are setting up your character and doing your rolls for your first 4 abilities if you just put the ones you want in your skill card slots it can save you a bit of time. Then after you get your abilities you want you can just put the ones you want at later levels back on. -garfna elune

Yeah first major update they did was add that in because of the complaints lol.
This is a huge time saver on prestige.
Or peeps can just go on Area 52 Free Pick , make it easy on their selves 😅

23:00 they came from the Portal affect that you rolled for that level. With every Manastorm over level 100 you get a level wide affect (Portals, Frost, Meteors etc). The reason you weren't getting them before is because you were doing Manastorms at sub level 60 and those affects don't happen until you hit level 60. -Warchild
For leveling you don't have to go for high level manastorm you can spam 1-9 manastorm and you'll get the same reward and xp than higher ones
Items are the same. But you do get more xp from higer levels. Just alot more stress

@Mcdoubles you could of saved your self alot of time by just going into card tab, picking starter cards and picking 4 abilities that you want to start with, then roll abilities. then once you have those, lock them down and then pick the 4 skill and 6 talent card you want to get while lvl'n. Oh keep in mind that summoners armor is for "pets only", has no effect on you.
Just had an Ascension AD at the start of this video, first time ive seen a legit youtube AD from them. Pretty cool
Gotta say, between you and Trmplays, I finally got into Ascension. I could never get back into Retail since WotLK so thank you so much for inspiring me! Been playing it non-stop for almost two weeks now and can't stop prestige every time I make lvl 60. Gotta keep rolling for that perfect build! Game on! - Acaelus on Elune
Btw, I've been rolling Swashbuckler and trying to add some AoE to it. Maybe give it a try?
If you pick a Swashbuckler that means you can't use the talent trees ?
@@joezar33 ?? Swashbuckling just means you have a 1h in your mainhand and your offhand is completely empty. The dps version of the build is rogue/hunter, iirc, in terms of talents you're aiming for.
If you think this gameplay is fun . You should try dragonflight fire mage . Blows all of this off the roof
DId it take you 20 minutes to roll the correct abilities or? You can just choose em with the skill cards, if you choose starter cards for example. Then u roll, then you remove those cards and replace em with other cards. Or is it perhaps maybe me who didn't understand the 20 minutes thing?

Bro you can equip the starter cards you want to start with, roll the dice, get the skills you want quickly, unequip those cards then go with whatever your build was.
Saves SO much time.
Started my first character on the adventure mode challenge. Was having fun but after a while I just felt super squishy and after watching your videos and seeing what manastorms are like I decided to deactivate the challenge and save it for a prestiege and I've been enjoying actually getting skill cards and not dying at the drop of a hat. Looking forward to my second time through when I can actually choose some of my spells and talents -Fullforehead
Doing the same thing right now but i am using the Manashield barrier to Level past 15 on Adventuremode lvl1.

If there's any advice I could give being at level 141 right now, is to card Potion Toss. That has been one of the most broken healing abilities I've ever played with! It's instant, heals instantly and over time AND it comes out of your energy and not your mana!! If you're a caster or a warrior it's pretty much a free spam 🤣👌 has kept me alive much longer than I ever deserved to be. Have fought some of the bosses for upwards of a half hour due to them being healing monsters. But, so was I 💪💪💪 Good luck Mcdoubles!

Just a lil tip when opening card packs; you can click the small icons in the left hand corner of the ui instead of the item in your bags :)

Leveling up with Adventure mode is such an easy way to farm thousands of marks and it only takes about an hour. Really nice way to buy rolls. -Bigcheeze Elune

For me the novelty of randomness has worn off fast. They really need to hone in on the fortune rerolls. Spending hours to farm the marks and spending 100 scrolls of fortune for a single usable ability just isn't the move. - Cipher

I've really been enjoying testing out ascension with this season. Brings a real fresh breath of air to the game in my opinion.
Not getting blessed by RNGeezus isn't too much of a punishment in my opinion, as you can easily blast from 10-60 by popping an xp pot and rushing BGs (Which is really fun 40% of the time)
Something to point out for manastorms, is that there's a weakaura script posted on the ascension DB, that let's you see the affixes of the enemies above their nameplates. That way you at least won't be caught unawares by those fuckin tornados.

I am really digging this season's gimmicks. Mana Storms are just so great for RL groups of friends with unpredictable attendance. After a few prestiges, the wildcard system is feeling really good to me as I build up my skill card library - Supergrover

The question you really need to ask yourself is "can this 20 year old game give anything new and entertaining to me" and the answer should be a really easy yes or no depending on your preferences (and the server you're playing on ofc) Personally WoW has lost its magic for me but I'm always glad to watch people having fun with it and Ascension really seems to be making the effort to try and keep its players.

A big thing ive noticed with this season, is i think max level optimizing a build is almost whats expected. While leveling its all very random, but this season you can get unlimited rerolls at max level to really make a strong build. Ive been having a ton of fun and am currently leveling an adventure mode character which is pretty fun so far. Love the videos man! - Daveric
Great video as always. The disconnections this season have be redic but hope with some younger folks going back to the redundancy of school life will lower the lag and up our enjoy of yet another random portal spawn in the storm. -Supmark

The enemies HP doesnt correspond to the scaling. The boss at 16:33 had 6110 max HP, 3934 current HP and got hit for 1193 damage to end up with 3360 HP.That's why without XPERL you cant see their HP, cause the number is not scaled, just the % - Notraskis
from what i get via your damage and the bosses "low" hp is that it is just a UI visual error. you can see you critting for 1800 or so on a boss and its hp goes down by like 5. just an observation. i could be wrong

Finally decided to start in season 9.... and i must say it's a lot to take in even after playung for over 10 years on "normal" servers xD - Arciuos

The other thing I'd love to see is for them to add more to the cache's in the form of gold, items, etc, and have the mobs not drop loot lol. I was constantly full in my bags with a loot bot, but I didn't want to take it off if I missed the card drops or something similar.

I made a macro for the greedy demon simple /Target Greed Demon. I click it as soon as I get out of the safe zone. And if he is in the zone you will target him. Then put a marker on him to find him easier.

This is my first season and it's honestly a lot of fun. Got some friends in for the first time ever with me. Makes learning this all easier.
The only break you get in the storms is at the start of each level, youre immune for 2 minutes so pee quick brother lol. Chunkr- Elune
Nice build to see! Did they change the tornado's visual effect? It's a huge tornado at my screen so def noticeable! When getting into a Manastorm dungeon I always use a /tar Greedy to see if a Greedy Demon is spawned nearby. Elune: Twiet

The frequency and low visual acuity of the chaos effects can make manastorms frustrating. I like them in concept, but they're constant and hit a bit too fast after spawning, which feels undodgable and therefore unfair. -sodapopinski
Watching Mcdoubles freak out about nearly dying after he pulled a pack with 1/3rd health knowing about the random portals even though he has a castable heal is wild.

Mc Doubles if you can get your hands on it you oughta try out Lava and Ice lash plus molten earts with stormstrike really pumps like hell for manastorm.
Deconstruct would be really good with mana fiend if you can get it. i played mana fiend for like 3 seasons and its always really good but never "meta" always pulls solid numbers -dayano
I just started and I'm so confused. Not sure why I can roll abilities to get all Epics, I feel like the first 4 should probably be in sets or something right? I got so many "requires another thing" to start with. I really don't like seeing how many times you rolled on the same type of thing. Maybe rolling something that improves something should reroll to the thing it improves or something? It's chaotic but hopefully I'll figure it out. - KawsMeCal
If you ever pull the Hammerstorm legendary, should revist your parry tank. Its been the most fun ive had with a tank spec. Also you taking alot of dmg from the mushrooms in the manastorms, they stack really fast.

Season 9 has good things going for it (Manastorm, Adventure Mode {to an extent}), but also a lot of negatives that should be remedied to.
Going from 10 cardable slots down to 4 has gutted players immensely. The addition of the RNG about talents has not helped, and even that tab could use 2 more slots for regular and golden as well. Same with abilities.
The RNG is brutal. I play Ascension for fun, not as a chore...and it is already starting to feel like a chore at times, especially since I've prestiged by Mana-Forged Barrier tank spec no less than 5 times already, just to get a defensive. And I still need to do it again because the talents are all over the place, and past lvl 31, the abilities offered went down the hill.
I am hoping that you and I can end up reaching our goals and still have fun.
