Simply pure truth - the whole reason you go to a teacher, is to want to actually aim for, so that one will not want - guru is only a bridge - nature of your mind is the guru - ultimately wanting something from an external source is what we want to eliminate. One should be agenda free!
Not only the words are good, but also, the deep sincerity of this teacher is so rare, so remarkable. It is easy to see that he speaks from his heart. That this has meaning for him. He is very inspiring. Though I have never met him, he gives off flashes of a true reincarnate lama of the stature of Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche. Though I have only heard stories of the great teacher Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche. And I get the strong impression that he would not suffer fools lightly. Very impressive.
To determine a genuine teacher goto many teachers so you remain unattached to a specific teacher student relationship - do this because you want to work it out yourself directly from the teachings - every time i listen to this every few months more is easily understood every comment from start to the very end!
This is one of those things that you read or listen to over and over to see how far you have grown or changed. Like reading Herman Hesse's "Siddhartha" every ten years, you see yourself with so much more understanding than you had before.
Rimboche you have with absolute brutal honesty explained the selfish teacher student relationship and vice versa in today's society. As a seasoned counselor I appreciate what you are trying to inculcate in us. Difficult but ... Thank you and Menlom la

"Everything is your mind or interpretation of your mind. Everything is your imagination, and there’s nothing that is not your imagination. Therefore, imagination is very powerful. Imagination is the only reality we have, within the imagination, there are fantasy and reality, in the relative world." This passage could be my whole life (or many lives) teaching to contemplate
He sounds as if he prefers being a teacher to a guru. Astonishingly honestly baffled by his western followers devotion. Thats so funny... as he said himself the lord buddha never had a guru and advises us to avoid leaders and to awaken ourselves.
The more i listen the more priceless and free from the attachments happens. To go beyond …
I watch this once a week or more. it can take eons for this to sink in.
totally agree

The humblest, highest Teacher. . . . . thank you is too small, too weak, too personal for what He has provided; the rest is silence. . . . .

How fortunate we are to have Rinpoche teaching us in this time.
