He's so excellent. Thank goodness there are still a few accomplished Buddhist teachers like him in the world. I wish. the world would listen to them more.
Wow! Rinpochhe truly describes pertinent issues with us as Bhutanese! We always have this “know it all” kind of attitude, that we don’t need to learn from others because we are unique and gifted in some ways- and that’s how our nation is failing to grow and prosper. This is the main problem that has caused us to stagnate in terms of development and progress in this highly competitive and fast-paced world. One of the issues quite similar being the lack of this appreciation for jobs such as blue collar jobs like working in construction, or being a cleaner, etc which Rinpoche points out as the lack of dignity of labour! How sadly true!!! It only we all could change our mindset and truly know how to be abundantly rich with these values we can go a long way as a Nation! Thanks to BBS for inviting Rinpochhe to talk on these issues. Rinpochhe as always, is such a great eye opener to us ignorant beings not only in terms of spirituality but also to be wise in the way we live with changing times!
There is a famous French publicist who said that if one was n't able to buy himself a Rollex watch when 50 years old , he was nothing ! and everyone made fun of him and stupid values ! I hope there are people in Bhutan who are strong mind enough not to care about stupid values others have !
Good talk. I like the beautiful setting. Also some of the comments here are quite weird and it's kind of interesting to me so I had an urge to comment too
He wouldn't care about these things at all actually, because as he says Buddha Dharma is way beyond all this identity bullhist. But for what it's worth his mother is Bhutanese, so his Grandfather on his mother side is Bhutanese, so you're conjecturing about what he might say or what he might not say is wishful thinking
+456inthemix, relax, no one is preventing you from saying what you think. Just pointing out the silliness of getting worked up over this 'identity' matter which was really his main point btw.
+456inthemix, you poor man. It's obvious you are struggling with your identity. a proud Tibetan stuck in some distant land waiving their flag. And being that you are a person full of ego and aggression doesn't know any better than lash out rudely when anything doesn't fit your warped world. Hope you're able resolve your issues ROFL.

Profoundly , revealing & insightful . His wise , mellow & self-restrained manner touches you deeply . A great teacher , without doubt .
Fantastic! Beautiful mind. Thank you for sharing this online. You Bhutanese must be very proud of Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche.

His fahter and Grandfathers are Tibetan, if Tibet was a free country he might have said he is a Tibetan, isn't it Rinpoche?

As horizontal. As vertical.
Slimy politician. Oh tradition is nice, but lets change everything. Slimy. Slimy. Slimy.
who are you referring to ?
Yet Buddhism has taught me that Everything is ALWAYS changing, and to accept that as the way of life
