On my DIY island, I'm allowing myself to use gyroids and fossils, because to me, they're like using flowers and shrubs. Like they're part of the natural stuff on the island.
Gyroids are good. They’re more like a crop - you have to grow them.
You don’t buy them and you aren’t gifted them, so they are absolutely allowed for decorating!
I really liked the length of this episode and the amount that was accomplished!! I've watched 5 or 6 of these 30-day challenges, and 10-minute episodes are always a bummer, when the person goes and plays so much off-camera. I understand it might be needed logistically to reduce editing time, so I just really appreciate getting a longer one!
The staircases can’t be placed right next to houses, they need at least a tile inbetween! I made this mistake once too with a city layout and moved all of the houses first and the incline couldn’t be placed between them like that. Also the one house near the incline to the right would need more space possibly too :/
You may not get Kap’n crop islands without redeeming the cooking ability first. Just to avoid future disappointment.

having those wide paths is also a good idea because you can pop fences right on top of them and still have plenty of room to walk! Nothing worse than villagers sitting in the middle of a path and blocking your way 😭

Típ with faster terraforming: 14:01 when you terraform a straight line, it’s takes pretty long due to every cliff having to be hit twice rather than one since they do the little slant when you hit it once.
However, I would suggest standing in front of three cliffs with you placed in the front middle of them, and since you can move you character diagonally while editing the cliffs, you can diagonally hit the left cliff, making a slant, hit the right cliff, destroying it completely, and then destroying the middle cliff, which destroys both the middle cliff and the slant at the sametime. Then move onto the next set of three cliffs and repeat those steps.
It’ll make terraforming cliffs so much more faster since you only need to hit each cliff once, rather than hitting every single cliff twice. Sometimes the diagonals are hard to hit and you might rebuild a cliff you don’t want, but trust me it’s a lot faster 👍 if you don’t understand… uhh ask me to explain again cuz I’m bad with my grammer lol. Hopefully this helps you

Your planning is so much more thought out than nearly all of mine. I start in one area and as I move along, then I shift everything else. Lol- it takes far too long the way I’ve been doing things. I struggle with big picture. ❤
So glad you were finally able to get more paths! I see your vision and it’s coming along nicely 😊 The gyroids, just like the flowers, are grown on your island and we’re found on the other island (like the flowers and shrubs) so you should be able to keep them for decorating, just like the flowers and shrubs 😊 👍🏼
I like it . But i would stagger the the houses so they wouldn't be blocking the view of each other. (Not placed directly in front of) hope that makes sense !

Maybe you shouldn't unlock cooking, I think that if you do, the diy bottles can contain cooking recipes as well as diy, so it might make it harder to collect them.

i think maybe for the stone path ends at the beach you could add some fencing that opens to the beach, kind of like what you might see in a coastal beach town :) or maybe another market area right on the beach
Gyroids are more DIY than plants you grab from the islands, so, go for it 😁

You might not get a vine or any seasonal islands from the Kappn tours in this challenge unless you time travel waaaaay far ahead. I think there’s a requirement that your player is like over 6months to a year old? I don’t remember off the top of my head but you can definitely look it up on the wiki
I say yes to gyroids. I need squeakoid so bad i would make any exception for them.

I have a question for you are you allowed to use the box near Tom nook's desk? it has things you can use to craft and sometimes tree saperings it does give you cardboard boxes as well and yes sometimes furniture wall papper and other things which you could sell. Sorry about spelling I have dyslexia
I've mostly been ignoring it other than grabbing cardboard boxes out of it. Flowers and trees are just more fun to hunt for tbh so I've been ignoring those types of items in the recycling bin. 🙂

I know Leif gives you a bush diy if you buy enough bushes. Would it work if you bought and sold bushes to then get the diy?

Omg isn’t it cheating to do the staircases? You have to buy them with real money, whereas the log bridge in the beginning you can craft. So technically it’s the only project you can have.
Lol! Well I mean I didn't consider that but I'm in too deep now. Certainly would have saved me money to not use anything like that but then I'd only have one bridge and navigating the island would be super annoying. 😂
