@@carlinhoo0844 understandable, but from my tests the iPhone isn't as bad compared to other Android premium devices (not gaming phones) when it comes to thermals. Again, I usually get anywhere from 58 to 59 fps average in my tests, which is quite impressive for a non-gaming phone. However, I do agree that all premium devices such as iphone, s22 u, oneplus, etc need to create better cooling solutions

This tests shows 2 things how much better the TSMC architecture is compared to Samsung. Literally 2 generations difference no cap. Second this is cooling solutions. Apple is very much behind in cooling. No matter how powerful their chip is. It is no doubt the best on the table but the fact that it just cannot sustain performance it denies any power advantage.
Iphone also uses tsmc chips. And D9000 and SD 8g1 are not same chipset. Dimensity has higher clock speed than SD 8gen1 . Look new test shows it also heat similar to SD and power consumption also same. Mainly new X2 core is power hungry. Fabrication process doesn't matter that much.

Because the test is bad. iPhones render the game at 800p on their highest setting vs 720p on androids. Also visual effects can go higher on iPhone. Both of these lead to this being an unfair comparison.

Realme GT Neo 3 has 8100 and metal frame, and it looks like it optimised to be less consistent FPS wise, but it hits 60 fps more often, I'd like to see it benchmarked with an external fan.

Thank you mr.golden. At first I was thinking to buy k50 pro because it's price is lower than k50 gaming and nearly same performance. And k50 gaming(SD 8 gen 1) having heat issue which I was really afraid of. Now I know k50 are cheaper than both of it's upper phones and better efficiency and less heat. Performance is not so important and still great because I will be playing only PUBG mobile.
The k50 pro (with dimensity 9000) should have better power consumption than the Redmi Gaming (with the snap 8 gen 1). Therefore I'm thinking about getting the K50 pro.
Be careful, PUBG is GPU demanding game, unlike Genshin Impact which is more CPU demanding. If you like to play PUBG, i suggest u SD 8Gen1 phone rather than Dimensity 8100/9000.

Golden reviewer you can can see resolution in especially in andriod in perfdog. At top right hand corner one button of getting resolution of game at side of recording button in perfdog
These gaming tests will be a lot more accurate if they are longer (around 30min). It is more realistic, and also you can clearly see 9000 starting to out perform 8100 around 7min mark in the final charts. So longer game time will probably result in 9000 pulling ahead significantly.
i think SD8 gen 1 is still the most powerfull chip but it needs some robust cooling to maintain its insane overheating issues as seen in red magic 7 blows the competition out of water but there is also the fact that we dont know how much performance a fan will give to the a15 as apple will only use it on their own phones
It's just the most powerful, definitely not the best chip at all because it requires a cooling solution that we will never see outside of gaming phones. The best in the list is the 15 by far, but it's the one with the worst cooling system of all of them, if only it had something similar to the k50 pro with the VC covering a big portion of the phone

I test S22u because it's the best selling SD8Gen1 device. also if I replace S22u with a gaming phone, FPS will be higher yes but power consumption will also be significantly higher, SD8Gen1 is just not efficient, nothing can change this fact...
Even if people are giving reasons of GR living in warmer climate and what not, the test conditions are same for all the phones, its not like he's testing k50 in Arctic and the iPhone 13PM in sahara desert. I don't understand the fuss people are making about that, rather than accepting that all the reason iPhone is throttling is due to heat generation, I mean it's obvious k50 has a degree lower than the iPhone in the temp. A15 in a smaller chassis will overheat, the reason that 13 mini performs poor in comparison, and the iPad mini 6 outperforms the 13 PM, it's all proportional to the area of contact for heat dissipation available (the reason I started gaming on my iPad instead of my 13PM) The thing that saddens me the most is, GR always works hard to standardise and give us results fair and square as it is, and people disregard that. I bet people creating the fuss are those who directly jump to the temp and fps part of the video( even GR modestly asks them do so) and skip the main 10mins of "REALTIME" live gameplay as it bores them. Of course genshin performs poorly on the iPhone 13 pro max,genshin doesn't use the GPU and uses CPU rendering,and the iPhone 13 has a 6 core chipset opposed against 8 core phones
But it's still significantly faster in multi-core performance when compared to the Android phones. The Apple's cores are much faster. Also, Genshin Impact does use the GPU, but it is mostly CPU-bound.
check dame tech channel, genshin impact uses gpu for sure, not only for sure, but also heavily. genshin is cpu demanding particularly, but that doesn't mean it's not gpu demanding.

of course it could. with a built-in fan, it could maintain 60 fps easily. but the power consumption is very high. no need to test, the result is highly predictable.
Mind you all of the devices except the iPhone have a vapor chamber while the iPhone doesn’t have no advanced cooling system which I think they need to add it to lower the overheating and throttling, as I have notice recent apple devices are overheating quickly and easily as a simple cooling device flaw that they have, as if they don’t fixes this apple might start to lose in the performance category.

Metal body = perform better , also metal Body make ur hand feels like hold a heatsink in ur hand....i have sony xz1 SD 835.. yes ,im disable thermal system on this phone , yes its have a metal body.....when u game Apex like 2-3 match in this phone its quite hard to hold ..but because im disable thermal on this phone , the peformance its stable at 45-55-60 fps balance set.....Phone now just need some extra effort to make it perform better just a simple way like disable that thermal system will so helpfull or u can Overclock that phone too if u want more performance , downscale resolution etc.....

hi can you test iPhone on low power mode? i always play graphic intensive games with LPM on it really helps a lot with the phone heating up too fast. i saw your other video doing iPhone in LPM & it seems the performance were better there

k50pro is better than k50. look at the graphs again. k50 pro has similar fps from start to the end, not getting affected by thermal throttling, while k50 is clearly struggling more near the end.
Iphones need a vapor chamber. It shouldn't be that hard to cool since it just consumed 4.3w, nearly half of what the rrally well optimized 8100 consumes. They would become the undisputed king of gaming
Dimensity 8100 is the best in this scenario because redmi k50 has a 3.9 mm2 vc cooling while apple abionic 15 doesnt have any type of cooling system. The dimensity 9000 and 8 gen 1 might only work best in low load, those SOCs aren't worth it unless paired with a cooling device or built in cooling system. I'm rooting for Mediatek on this one hopefully the competition become more fierce and chipmakers make the price more affordable so that we consumers can benefit from it.

these phones are overkill for other games, genshin is the only game that doesn't run at stable 60fps at max settings, there s nothing else as demanding.
@@SToXC_. I'm sure there's other games to try, especially for longer gaming periods. Testing with Genshin impact is more about testing the chips optimization for the game than the performance of the chip. It's like PC benchmarks, GPUs and CPUs can perform very differently depending on what game it is.
Hey golden could you do same test with Alien Isolation? You can tweak files on android and set them to equal resolution. 1080p would be good (change line 60 in preferences.txt to 1080)

I enjoy the videos, just dont like the temperature method used as this is not very accurate would prefer monitoring of internal sensors as ive dealt with heat dissapation a long time and often measuring what actual temp is at the core as opposed to how heat is transfered away is what counts

samsung last good architecture was in 2017 with samsung 10nm, while tsmc was stuck at 16nm, how the tables have turned

Be careful, PUBG is GPU demanding game, unlike Genshin Impact which is more CPU demanding. If you like to play PUBG, i suggest u SD 8Gen1 phone rather than Dimensity 8100/9000.
From what i learn k50 is good if u play game for a while....k50 pro is good if u want to play game 6 hour or longer

These gaming tests will be a lot more accurate if they are longer (around 30min). It is more realistic, and also you can clearly see 9000 starting to out perform 8100 around 7min mark in the final charts. So longer game time will probably result in 9000 pulling ahead significantly.
i think SD8 gen 1 is still the most powerfull chip but it needs some robust cooling to maintain its insane overheating issues as seen in red magic 7 blows the competition out of water but there is also the fact that we dont know how much performance a fan will give to the a15 as apple will only use it on their own phones

It's just the most powerful, definitely not the best chip at all because it requires a cooling solution that we will never see outside of gaming phones. The best in the list is the 15 by far, but it's the one with the worst cooling system of all of them, if only it had something similar to the k50 pro with the VC covering a big portion of the phone

Even if people are giving reasons of GR living in warmer climate and what not, the test conditions are same for all the phones, its not like he's testing k50 in Arctic and the iPhone 13PM in sahara desert. I don't understand the fuss people are making about that, rather than accepting that all the reason iPhone is throttling is due to heat generation, I mean it's obvious k50 has a degree lower than the iPhone in the temp. A15 in a smaller chassis will overheat, the reason that 13 mini performs poor in comparison, and the iPad mini 6 outperforms the 13 PM, it's all proportional to the area of contact for heat dissipation available (the reason I started gaming on my iPad instead of my 13PM)
The thing that saddens me the most is, GR always works hard to standardise and give us results fair and square as it is, and people disregard that. I bet people creating the fuss are those who directly jump to the temp and fps part of the video( even GR modestly asks them do so) and skip the main 10mins of "REALTIME" live gameplay as it bores them. I've been subscriber since a long time and will trust him to the end, he's one of the few guys those give the info about the how a chipset will perform in comparison to others which is what we need and in this scenario which is hard for me to believe (I am an admirer of Apple) the Dimensity is outperforming all of the 6-7 inch category devices

Dimensity 9000 and 8100I saw them very equal, a detail is that I saw that at the beginning the dimensity 9000 was having some downturns but the magic happened as if it adapted and began to improve the performance quite consciously the same with the 8100, and I was totally surprised, those Mali gpu if they amazed me, I can not expect them to launch globally see what happens, excellent video golden dimensity 9000 I found a better movie than the 8100 (minute 5:00 onwards)

Of course genshin performs poorly on the iPhone 13 pro max,genshin doesn't use the GPU and uses CPU rendering,and the iPhone 13 has a 6 core chipset opposed against 8 core phones
But it's still significantly faster in multi-core performance when compared to the Android phones. The Apple's cores are much faster. Also, Genshin Impact does use the GPU, but it is mostly CPU-bound.
Actually for games, its only use BIG CPU, the cortex X2 for Mediatex and Snapdragon.

If you will turn on low power mode in ip13 pm and attach a fan, it give constant 60 fps forever. Plus its sharper than any other phone.
it's simply not true. I've posted the screenshots on my twitter. They are almost the same in terms of resolution, if any minute difference, the S22 Ultra is a tad sharper

Mind you all of the devices except the iPhone have a vapor chamber while the iPhone doesn’t have no advanced cooling system which I think they need to add it to lower the overheating and throttling, as I have notice recent apple devices are overheating quickly and easily as a simple cooling device flaw that they have, as if they don’t fixes this apple might start to lose in the performance category.

Metal body = perform better , also metal Body make ur hand feels like hold a heatsink in ur hand....i have sony xz1 SD 835.. yes ,im disable thermal system on this phone , yes its have a metal body.....when u game Apex like 2-3 match in this phone its quite hard to hold ..but because im disable thermal on this phone , the peformance its stable at 45-55-60 fps balance set.....Phone now just need some extra effort to make it perform better just a simple way like disable that thermal system will so helpfull or u can Overclock that phone too if u want more performance , downscale resolution etc.....

k50pro is better than k50. look at the graphs again. k50 pro has similar fps from start to the end, not getting affected by thermal throttling, while k50 is clearly struggling more near the end.
no. i can tell you for sure the gaming experience is much better on K50, K50 Pro has so many micro stutters that completely ruins the game

Iphones need a vapor chamber. It shouldn't be that hard to cool since it just consumed 4.3w, nearly half of what the rrally well optimized 8100 consumes. They would become the undisputed king of gaming
On paper it is the best SoC that exists on a phone, but unfortunately not having a cooling system does not yield what it has to perform.
I'd like to see some tests with android emulators on the Dimensity 8100 and 9000.

Dimensity 8100 is the best in this scenario because redmi k50 has a 3.9 mm2 vc cooling while apple abionic 15 doesnt have any type of cooling system. The dimensity 9000 and 8 gen 1 might only work best in low load, those SOCs aren't worth it unless paired with a cooling device or built in cooling system.
I'm rooting for Mediatek on this one hopefully the competition become more fierce and chipmakers make the price more affordable so that we consumers can benefit from it.
remind you K50 and K50pro have plastic body, if you put D8100 into a metal body they will be even better

Testing with Genshin impact is more about testing the chips optimization for the game than the performance of the chip. It's like PC benchmarks, GPUs and CPUs can perform very differently depending on what game it is.

Hey golden could you do same test with Alien Isolation? You can tweak files on android and set them to equal resolution. 1080p would be good (change line 60 in preferences.txt to 1080)
If you are playing on max graphics you ain't a real gamer. I woud like to see lowest graphics test to see which device can hold 60fps for the longest.

I enjoy the videos, just dont like the temperature method used as this is not very accurate would prefer monitoring of internal sensors as ive dealt with heat dissapation a long time and often measuring what actual temp is at the core as opposed to how heat is transfered away is what counts
