Despite S22 having smaller battery than S21 it outperformed S21. If it had 4000 mAh unchanged battery it could have easily touched 8 hours mark which could have been game changer. IDK why Samsung decided to downsize the battery.
I would like to see a compassion between S21FE with 60hz and 120hz. Many people suspect that the constant 120hz refresh rate that comes by default is what drains a lot of battery.

In my opinion any battery/phone which can last for 7 hrs minimum on a single day of heavy usage is good for todays standards. 8 hrs is great and anything more than that is a bonus. Normally we are not going to use our phones non-stop. All of these phones should be able to easily get you through a normal day, especially if all you do is browse, play a few videos and make/take a few calls. Battery tests are usually quite demanding on the phones ( constantly playing videos/playing games for hours). These tests tend to drain the batteries quickly and are supposed to simulate a very demanding days usage, far more than we usually would during a normal day. Seeing as battery technology in general does not seem to improve much, this also means that we are generally running larger and generally more demanding phone on the same batteries of the older models. The only difference seems to be the battery size which has gone up from 3000 to 5000 in the last 6 years. All in all, as long the the phones can last for a full day without dying, that's all we need. That said...I'd hope that better batteries which can last for longer than a single day could be created at some point. But I guess that will only happen when and if the current batteries can't handle the ever increasing demands of newer phones of the future.
It's an old video but next time can you please leave the SoT time on top of battery all the time :D? cause i have to go back and foward on the video. Thanks.

I used Google translater: Hello, it would be interesting if you put the average result of milliamps of the batteries since you were able to measure how long they lasted in hours. In this case, this would give a notion of efficiency in relation to other models. For example: S22 has 3700mAh and lasted about 7.35 hours. Doing a fraction, we would have a load consumption of 503.4 mA If we compare it with the S21+ where it took 9.03 hours with 4800mAh, we will have a charge consumption of 531.56 mA. That is, we have 5.59% more consumption than the S21+ for the S22, but in terms of durability, we have 22.86% more battery life. However, it is good to note that the S21+ has about 1100mAh more than the S22, that is, we have 29.73% more battery in the S21+ compared to the S22. So, if by chance both had the same battery level (4800mAh), the S22 would be more efficient! Because with the S22 it would last approximately 9.53 hours vs 9.03 hours for the S21+!
Thank you for the great video! Can you please make a battery drain test with those phones on standby? I'm searching for a new phone and I am between S21 and S21 FE or S21+. Can you enlight me about their battery life in real life conditions? Meaning a lot of idle time. Thank you in advance. Jim
How do you compensate for the loss in battery capacity just by the fact that the phones are used? Or are all phones in this test completely unused? I've experienced slower speeds and loss in battery capacity for all my samsung phones the last number of years, with increasing losses for every yeart. The latest models will have up to 10% better capacity just by being less used. A couple of years in, they're a slight pain to use.

How did S22 beat S21fe with such big difference in battery size
I saw a lot of reviews and in all of them the s21 fe battery its way better than the s22 … this test its a bit extrange for me
That means I need to skip the S22+ and upgrade to the S21+!!!
8:39h SOT u got there for s22+ wow, thats crazy. Why i only get 5:30h SOT only? what did u do with your s22+? cause the battery is great compare to mine. your s22+ only minus an average 10% in an hour of SOT while my s22+ minus 15% for an hour of SOT. any tips to prolong battery life on the s22+?

These tests on WiFi without SIM card are so fake results …. I have s21+ which barely lasts 6hours SOT and s22 which lasts 4hours SOT…. 5g usage exynos versions!
Exynos or Snapdreagon?
Can someone explain to me why his s22 last 7h and mine last only 2,5h??
Heavy usage ig?
I own s22 and s21+ both exynos versions and I tell you 🪫 life is bad! I charge them around 8:30 in the morning and around 17:00 afternoon the s22 is almost dead at 7-8% battery 4hSOT, meanwhile the s21+ can go 2 more hours around 6h SOT. 5g network usage 120hz without dark mode enabled! All these RUclips tests are a complete joke, misinformation! 😡
i think the 5G usage really costs a lot of battery. Since these youtube tests usually use Wifi connections only, and it's true that Data usage and searching for cellular signal does generate heat & cost quite lot of battery
@@stefanusrianto8781 i have the s21 ultra with 5g turned off. Screen settings at max. And i get a lame battery life as well. Wont make it to the end of the day. Question..series S22 the latest update firmware? March update?Version?
Hey great video! Could you tell me please, which monthly security update was installed on the S22 models?
Since you do the standby test (which i like) to seek realistic times, im curious why do you remove the sims? having a sim in your phone is the most realistic right?

That's amazing! Gogo Xiaomi 12 vs Samsung S22 vs iPhone 13 Ultimate battery test! 🔥😍👍
Finally a great battery test. Nice job
The Samsung S22 series is my favorite. But since the S22+ was the second last one to lose all of its battery life I will definitely get it.
Samsung problem is that it loses with a lot of battery when idle, around 10% in 5 hours
My iPhone SE 2020 had those problems I would have 20% left on the phone leave it alone for like 8 mins then the battery would die
Man I'm still stuck on what to upgrade to. I love my s10 but I need something new...s21+ is a big consideration
if you can, go for the s21+, is very very good
I still got my s10. Still dope!
s21 fe is snapdragon or exynos version? s21+ snap o exy?
S21 fe comes with both Exynos and snapdragon varient. Here in the video he used snapdragon varient
For an apples to apples test or a part 2 even, you could have all the phones running the same res.
after 98% drop, the s21 ultra be like-
''time to go ultra instinct''
I wonder what would be the difference if you used 4G instead of WiFi especially between 21 and 22
Is the s21 or s21+ worthy for 2023?
The phone with the timer won XD
It's an old video but next time can you please leave the SoT time on top of battery all the time :D? cause i have to go back and foward on the video. Thanks.
Were all units new straight from the box? That should be a fair comparison because any additional app would be a factor.
S21+ 😮
Talvez troque meu S22 por um S21+
which s22 ultra out there can go to 1 hz.... this is myth.. The best scenario is 24hz..
why they dont do that with the 60 to be adaptive as well
Is this before the batteries swell up and explode?
i was thinking about buying a new phone on my birthday on january 1st 2023 and i was thinking between iphone 12,samsung s22 and the s21+ but im worried about the size of the s21+ the samsungs are 100$ cheaper any suggestions? (i have a samsung s7 edge)
I was in the same situation, but overall, I got s21+ mainly because of battery, cost, and functionality. i wanted the ip12 for a different operating system experience but I figured, I will be wasting my themes and samsung saved data's. I upgraded from s10e and wanted a bigger screen hence I got the plus. the s22 feels exactly the same size as my old phone so I felt like I might not feel like I upgraded. Hope this helps
I wanted to see s20 FE here

This is the only video where the S22 did good that I can find. Usable battery life IMHO
Battery life I think is usable IF you don't use the camera a lot or play games. The fact that this is the only video where the s22 lineup does well I think says a lot though. I really wished the battery was better, the phones (s22 and s22+, not the s22u which is quite ugly tbh) are really good looking
I thought S21 FE hat much better Battery usage than the S21
S21+ you tested..Snapdragon or Exynos variant?
S22 beats s21 fe, really??!! I am using s21 fe and it gives me 6 hrs SOT. No other video or review suggests that s22 can give more than 6 hrs SOT. Something strange going on 🤔
It's also beat the s21. I cant believe that. Maybe because of no sim card or this is a fake test video. I have the S22 and I can say thats the worst battery life I've ever seen. Very disappointed from Samsungs Exynos bullshit
@@LasseSamstroem47 How much SOT are you getting. Usually people are getting 4.5 hrs on normal usage.

I used Google translater:
Hello, it would be interesting if you put the average result of milliamps of the batteries since you were able to measure how long they lasted in hours. In this case, this would give a notion of efficiency in relation to other models. For example:
S22 has 3700mAh and lasted about 7.35 hours. Doing a fraction, we would have a load consumption of 503.4 mA
If we compare it with the S21+ where it took 9.03 hours with 4800mAh, we will have a charge consumption of 531.56 mA.
(9:31 versus 9:02 for the S21+)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for the great video! Can you please make a battery drain test with those phones on standby? I'm searching for a new phone and I am between S21 and S21 FE or S21+. Can you enlight me about their battery life in real life conditions? Meaning a lot of idle time. Thank you in advance. Jim

Hola, que procesador tiene el S21+ del test?
Was it exynos or snapdragon?
How do you compensate for the loss in battery capacity just by the fact that the phones are used? Or are all phones in this test completely unused? I've experienced slower speeds and loss in battery capacity for all my samsung phones the last number of years, with increasing losses for every yeart. The latest models will have up to 10% better capacity just by being less used. A couple of years in, they're a slight pain to use.
Great big test, thanks :)
