We just came back from the bristol hifi show. This speaker and amplifier combination was, without question , the highlight of the event.
We found ourselves back in the room at the end of the day , agreeing with other like minded people that this was a special set up. We sat, engrossed and enjoyed anything and everything that was put its way.
Its 3 hours since the show finished , and this is all we have talked about.
If you get the chance, you need to listen to this set up... its something else .
    ...take my money

Explain to me please, who needs them for that kind of money?
    It's 3-4 times the cost of a top-of-the-line 3400.
That's more than Wilson Audio Sophia 3 on the secondary market. That's insane!

The Cue-100 is a combination of outstanding woofers and tweeters with lots of craftsmanship and real-wood solid oak used for the enclosure and stand, everything handmade in Denmark and Germany. Quality and design never comes cheap. We also think there some speakers out there really insane compared to the Cue-100…
And of course we have more pure and space-saving speakers like MH-2, MH-3, FR-1, or CS-1.

@@SteinLyng I am a long time Lyngdorf fan and a current user of the 3400 in a full set and I have long wished that Lyngdorf would make a similar bookshelf speakers but guys with all due respect to you this is overkill.
Even when I have an extra 20k for audio I will never buy a cue-100 in my life.
But I will hope for your prudence and revision of the price of this speaker by at least 60% of its current value.
      Thanks.
      Kind regards,
      Finn

@@bristolwoodburners81 totally agree. I also told the guys this was my best in show... I came back at around 3.30 as I had to go soon after but the sound was something else. You could say that's because it was much more expensive than most of the other setups . This was not sterile at all.

I was interested in perhaps the 3400...then i read multiple reviews saying the sound is very sterile or clinical...not musical...I like musicality Open soundstage with a little warmth… I don't think the class D will ever be able to give me that...

I've owned a 3400 for 3 years now and wouldn't describe the sound as sterile or clinical. Neutral, yes, but that's what I want from an amp. I've been delighted with mine.

We wonder where these opinions come from - usually TDAI-3400 owners and also reviewers are surprised that our TDAI amplifiers do NOT sound like that, but very balanced and musically rich. You can find many TDAI-3400 reviews on our website.
The very latest one from AUDIO TEST 02/2023 is only in German so far, but the review quote matches your question: “When thinking ab out Class D, some audiophiles will still wrinkle their nose. But we have to reply: This technology has made huge development steps over the last 20 years. The infamous digital cold sound is a thing of the past, and Peter Lyngdorf is a pioneer in this field. Thanks to this advantage , his amplifiers sound extremely fine, nuanced, yet also powerful and precise. So much that some analog amplifiers are not up to it. And if they can, they cost three times as much. The TDAI-3400 sound incredibly well-balanced.” Their words, not ours…
Furthermore, our TDAI are actually not Class D amplifiers. The TDAI-3400 is a fully digital amplifier, so whatever you read about Class D opinions, it does not really apply to Lyngdorf amplifiers.
Anyway, the only way to separate written words from the actual sound performance is to use your own ears, visit a Lyngdorf retailer’s demo room, and bring your own music for example on USB memory.
Last not least, or TDAI amps allow sound tuning in the digital domain, for example a slightly warmer or leaner sound, by using exact eq curves tuned by your ear, as any sound engineer would do in the studio. Give it a try.

Hideous! Can't imagine what Lyngdorf were thinking with this design and I'm normally a big fan of what they do.

Design is always in the eye of the beholder… At the public launch in Barcelona the response was really good, and we can only ask you to see the Cue-100 in real life when it reaches the Lyngdorf retailers soon. For the purists we will also continue with Lyngdorf speakers like MH and BW.

@@SteinLyng Time will tell, but I'd bet sales volumes will be extremely low, especially at the ridiculous prices being quoted.

    • @SteinLyng
      @SteinLyng  Год назад +2

@@stevec356 Sure, same as any other speaker in these price and quality league it won’t sell in thousands, similar to upper-high-end amplifiers or audiophile digital-analog-converters. As you can see with Lyngdorf MH and CS speakers, this is not an overall Lyngdorf shift, it’s an addition for this part of the audio market.

I completely disagree, and I find this speaker to look absolutely amazing. It reminds me of a smaller Beolab 50.
