Glad to know it can be a temporary style and not only for starting locks because I think they are truly stunning. I've always wanted to try this style. Tfs
I can’t be the only non-hair stylist white person who likes to watch people do black hair on RUclips, can I? You have one of my favorite channels. It’s just so satisfying and beautiful and cool to watch these techniques. I could watch this stuff all day. ❤️ This is one of the coolest ones I’ve seen.
I love your work and straight forward honesty about our hair and black people in general. We need to hear this to dismantle the generational curse placed on us of not being beautiful and our hair not worthy in its natural state to be worn just as it is. I would prefer my natural hair texture any day . I’m proud of it, I love it and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Thank you for who you are and your encouraging contribution to continue this self awareness love journey of Black people and our wonderful HAIR
Thank you for making this! I’ve been trying to do coils on my own head and it is not easy! This angle you chose is also perfect for seeing which direction to twist because I would twist it in different directions and it messes up my flow. Saving this for practice! 🙏🏿
@@AfrikanHairGod Yeah, I struggle using precise combs like that without giving myself breakage anyways. Thanks again! I’m definitely sticking to using hands. They don’t come out too bad that way.
My daughter has 4 ponytails full of these beautiful curls. They last, even when she forgets to sleep with her bonnet. It has made her fall in love with her natural hair
So pretty and neat! I remember doing this to my daughter hair some years back. It was an easy style. Welp. Her hair stared locing on me. 🤣🤣 I had to hurry up and take them out.
Absolutely love your channel! I saw your video about your struggle with dishidrosis months ago and thankfully your videos came back on my feed so I could follow you.
I cannot use a comb. My hair will get caught no matter what I do😢 I'm so glad I found you. I love watching natural hair vids that don't push blow drying at me🎉🎉🎉
I love comb coils you did a great job as always. I started my Locs with comb coils, however, my 6 new Locs I started due to colour damage was started with 2 strand twists. For me they took less maintenance to stay together. 😊
These are BEAUTIFUL. I love how comb coils look, but I don’t like the shrinkage it brings. I started my daughters with braids so she could keep her length the whole time.
It is so funny that I did my aunt, my mom, and my cousin hair just like this but with my fingers. I saw my cousin at a funeral and everyone was asking her who started your locks? I said yeah, and she said (you) my name and I was so shocked 😂 because it was two years prior and her locks was passed her shoulders. She goes to a natural hairstylist now for maintenance. Now people in my family are asking me to start their locks! Who knew, I thought I was giving her a two to three week natural hairstyle and that’s it, not locks! 😅
I do finger curls on the outside of my hair & my "bangs" (when stretched they go to my clavicle). It makes my wash n goes last longer. But I think it may be a lil different than what you're doing.
Palm rolling new growth locks that small is fast and it looks good but it never stayed for me. I can start micro loc with comb coil but upkeep has to be interlocking IMO. I prefer to start micro loc with two strand twist and maintain with interlocking if you aren’t going to get proper sisterlocks
So glad I ran across your page I have had my locs for about close to two years and haven’t went to a salon. My beautician started them and moved out of town so I let my daughter retwist my hair. My question is I have real fine hair so the retwist don’t last that long new growth is everywhere what are your suggestions on maintaining it? Also, how often should you wash and retwist your locs thanks for your quick response in the matter.
I started my microlocs with comb coils and they are about this size! However I just moved and booked with a new loctictian who said that I shouldn’t have started with comb coils and that I should do reties instead of retwists moving forward to prevent breakage… I ended up rescheduling but hearing your commentary here, o, thinking maybe I should book with someone else. Any thoughts? 😅
Yes. I have fine dense 4c hair that grows in spirals. I've has locs started thus way twice. Once mature they were the size of a pencil the second time and a kindergarten pencil the first. I may try microlocs next time

It may be easier to just do it with your fingers instead. That's what I do
You can just do finger coils instead it's much easier to do on yourself
@Afro King yeah, that’s what I thinkin’ because the last time I tried to do comb coils, I ripped a piece of my hair out and stopped immediately 🥲

Me Too, this is exactly what ive been looking for, cause i wanted to know how to make it tight from the root of the beginning, and they nailed it ! ❤
I have 3c curls but I’m absolutely obsessed with watching natural hair videos like this. Especially when the work is this flawless❤

🤯never seen this with a comb. Always palm rolled. I’m so late. Anyways, that method is beautiful 😍
Palm rolling is definitely quicker but I can be more precise with a comb. Thank you so much!
So neat ❤❤❤
I have absolutely no business on your page, but I just love natural hair so much and tbh I’m kind of super jealous 😅

If you are consistent enough it will Loc. It's challenging in the beginning but they mature really well with diligence and consistency
Hi family, I just love this. I just have to come by to visit you guys. Deborah
This is so relaxing
This is stunning
That’s how I started mine 11 years ago
I am so happy I found you!!
Beautiful. ❤
That is so beautiful. Don’t think it works on looser curl patters though.
It does it just shapes to your natural curl pattern. If you have a curl you can do it

Amazing. Can you take them out whenever you want to ?
Can this be done on long hair, as a hairstyle for a week or two? 😊
I always wanted to do this to my hair 😩 I love this but I have mexican hair🥲🥲🥲
Half of us white people with super coily curls trying this getting the comb caught up. 😂
But seriously...
This is BEAUTIFUL!
🤭😂😂😂
Question:
Does this method ensure a more voluminous outcome?
No
@@AfrikanHairGod I have low density hair, what method would you recommend using for microlocs?
Dammit you are in Georgia. Her hair looks so healthy
❤❤
I saw another one of your videos where you used no product before comb twisting. What product is in this client’s hair?
Just hair grease and water
What cream is used for this please
Where are you located
What if you don’t want locs can I stil wear this style
Gorg!
Where are you located?
Is her hair wet and just conditioner
How long do they last before they start locing?
What is the name of your shop? I’m in Alabama and I have a daughter with beautiful 4c hair. I would love to visit
What products are used?
May I suggest a coil comb. It works better
No it actually doesn't. When you have the skill you don't need a comb like that
😍❤🤗
How do you wash without all the twists untwisting…?
Is this good for children’s hair also?
Yes. This method is not new. As a child in Jamaica mothers will lay the baby on her lap and twist with a fine tooth comb.
What product works best for the coils
You just want product to have slip and moisture because it's activating the hair's natural curl pattern
How do you keep it from locking?
How do you take them down if you want it as a temporary style?
Please check the pinned comment
What moisture is used?
I Started Mines With Two Strand Twist It Holds Better
That's not true for everyone. Twists don't work for every curl pattern but congrats on your Loc journey
What city are you in
Please refer to the pinned comment
This takes so long to do on myself
Can I do it with larger portions of hair?
Yes
Can they be done in bigger sizes or do they have to be tiny?
They can be done at any size
Yes. I have fine dense 4c hair that grows in spirals. I've has locs started thus way twice. Once mature they were the size of a pencil the second time and a kindergarten pencil the first. I may try microlocs next time
