Alright....got to add another comment. Made the pizza...and the sauce (comment in that video) and the mozzarella as per the video. Came out great. Needed to add more flour as the dough was sticky. Put it on a pizza stone which made the underside a bit too burnt. But that was my error. The edges of the pizza crust was fluffy which was delicious and held the toppings well. It was not stodgy and didn't feel all full and lethargic like the takeout places. So easy and straight forward! Yay again!

Quick tip for the dough. After you’re done mixing you should soak the mixing bowl and let the dough rise in a clean bowl lightly coated with olive oil. This will make the clean up way easier and will save you a lot of time. It’s really annoying trying to clean dried dough.

Loved making this recipe! I used some vegan pesto instead of tomato sauce and topped it with thinly sliced mushrooms and tomatoes. For the cheese, I didn't seek out deodorized coconut oil but will in the future; the flavour of the cheese is super delicate so a hint of the coconut oil came through.
I made this yesterday, completely messed up the measurements etc and it was STILL great! The cheese is sheer wizardry, better than any restaurant I've been to!
Just made this today! Was suspicious when i was heating it up on the hob as it rly didn’t taste like cheese. But on the pizza combined with the tomato sauce and dough (i made sourdough) it was bombbbb. I found it needed a good bit more salt sprinkled on top of it, but it really hit the spot for the fatty and salty feel that u get from cheese. I put it under the grill to really brown it up. I highly recommend this recipe!!

@@ruthwilles3653 Hi. A bit late but here it goes: My opinion is that it would significantly negatively affect the outcome. The flavor and texture of cheese is due to, among other things, a high content of saturated fat. In this vegan imitation, that saturated fat comes from coconut oil. Without the oil it would become a flavorless slurry. At that point it would be better if you just threw some nooch on top of the pizza. But maybe you've found some way to make it :D

Just made it and my familly loved the pizza and the vegan mozzarella. Only added garlic powder and extra nutrional yeast. The pizza dough was perfectly crunchy and soft inside
I saw some "weird" ingredients (which I don't have a clue where to.find) at the cheese recipe, byt I m going to track them down, google translate them, find them and buy a bunch just to make as many of these pizzas as possible!! Love your style (and recipes of course)!! 🌱
paddypat8 agar agar and tapioca!there you go! Tapioca is a totally new word, and agar agar is an ingredient I can't easily find in supermarkets here, I have seen it once in a recipe for tempeh. 😞
DILENA STRAY well it's good to try out new stuff 😊😊 Tapioca is the starch of manioc... if you can't find it in your standard supermarket an asian supermarket will definitely have it...they might also have agar agar... Where are you from? If I may ask 😊
I made this two days in a row now! The dough is enough for like 3 to 4 servings lol I like my crust not to thick but the cheese was absolutely amazing! My 4 year old is obsessed and will be having pizza for the whole week now 😂 lol thank you for this amazing recipe!
Made this pizza tonight, with your homemade sauce! It was delicious! We couldn’t find tapioca nor Agar but we substituted with cornstarch and we really enjoyed it! Had to play around a bit with it since we hadn’t made pizza before but super happy with the results. Thank you for sharing your recipe!
@@TimelessTales-abc Get the agar agar in an asian food store and grind it up into flakes yourself. Less expensive. Also the tapioca starch makes it more stetchy than cornstarch - also found in your local asian grocery store.
I've given it a go and the dough is superb. Crispy and crunchy on the outside and very soft on the inside. The trick is to keep enough moisture in the dough so that it sticks slightly to the touch. I backed my pizza in a preheated oven at 200C for 20 min. Thank you dude! P.S I used wholegrain and it worked just as fine.
I think it would be great if you demonstrated this recipe with sourdough starter rather than commercial yeast...not that commercial yeast isn't good in a pinch but still, I think it would make a great addendum to this video. :-)
But it wouldn't be pizza dough then. Pizza dough IS a yeast dough. If you make it with sourdough, it will be flammkuchen. That is made with sour dough.
Made this a couple of times now. The best vegan mozzarella recipe I've come across so far and a very simple dough recipe, without all the fuss and extended proving time of others. I do tend to knock it back once though, give it a second quick knead and let it prove for a second time for at least an hour, that's just me though. I blitz my tomato sauce in a blender to make it smooth. Have to drizzle some olive oil on top just before it goes in the oven and add the basil leaves at the last 5 mins of cooking. But a super vegan Neapolitan style pizza recipe.
Just made this pizza, the cheese and the tomato sauce today. Was so good. Got good comment from everyone at home. Thank you for sharing such wonderful recipe.
You’re amazing man. Took me long enough to check out the recipe but glad i did. Also wanted to thank you for always taking the time to respond to any inquiries on social media. You’re one of a kind. Many blessings.
I did this, and it turned out amazing. The cheese is REALLY delicious (and not only 'good for being vegan') and even though it has expensive or weird ingredients, the amounts used are really low so its not really pricey.
Just go for it. I don't think besides all the salt, and yeast and everything else the taste will be to strong. Also it's more natural and therefore healthier not to use deodorized oil.
I made this a couple days ago and i LOVE the mozzarella! mine didn't melt/blob around like your's did, i think bcs i cooked it too long in the pot/too thick (and i used olive oild bcs it's all i had)...but when i took the pizza out of the oven i was able to easily "pop" the crust of the cheese blobs and smooth it around...I've been eating this mozzarella in random meals ever since and only love it MORE. thank you so much...i had given up on experimenting with cheese (so had the agar agar etc) and am SO grateful for this video :) going to browse your channel and see if anything else pops up...and of course subscribed. also the trick with the dough rising in the oven with a pot of boiling water is AMAZING! i run my house pretty cold and whenever i make bread i have to turn the heater on just for it and keep the dough right next to the heater...no more! so THANK YOU, though you already said you're welcome XD
Just made this! Thumbs up, tastes amazing! Finally vegan pizza that tastes like the non vegan pizza, I am able to enjoy pizza again! Thank you for your videos and sharing your incredible recipes with us, you are truly an amazing chef.
Ahh and boo allergic to coconut. Maybe macadamia or olive oil? I’ve used olive oil to replace coconut oil when I don’t have the unrefined to make tapioca cheese so should work.
I’ve made it without any oil. But I’ve used olive oil too. I love pizza! If I could eat it every other day, I would. Every other day I would eat a curry.
Made this today with a different crust. This cheese recipe will be a regular part of our diet. I bet it would be awesome in a grilled cheese sandwich. 🍕😋
"Its cheap if you make it from scratch" *pulls out cashews, nutritional yeast and agar*. I mean im sure it tastes good but that's not what cheap looks like to me.
ikr, where I live, 200g of cashew is 7 euros and a pack of nutritional yeast is 7 euros also, agar is around 5 euros ... it's exepensive in a short time but it profits when it is to be used for many times
Maja the Psychic If you're vegan, you should already have these ingredients on hand. Yes, it's expensive to buy all this stuff when you run out, but you have to figure in the cost of each ingredient per the measurements used in the recipe. By and large, it's cheaper to make as much of your own stuff as possible.
When you burn your mouth on pizza, coffee, tea, whatever, take a spoonful (or one packet) of real sugar (not Splenda, stevia, any fake sweetener), put it on your tongue, close your mouth, and just let it dissolve. The pain will be cut in half, if not gone completely, by the time the sugar is gone. Been doing this for thirty years. Just did it yesterday (scalding hot tea). Still works like a charm. Remember, it MUST be real sugar.

Just made it and my familly loved the pizza and the vegan mozzarella. Only added garlic powder and extra nutrional yeast. The pizza dough was perfectly crunchy and soft inside
kairinumberone thank you!! And bravo!
I saw some "weird" ingredients (which I don't have a clue where to.find) at the cheese recipe, byt I m going to track them down, google translate them, find them and buy a bunch just to make as many of these pizzas as possible!! Love your style (and recipes of course)!! 🌱
DILENA STRAY nutritional yeast, Agar agar and tapioca?
Any organic supermarket and/or amazon will have this
paddypat8 agar agar and tapioca!there you go! Tapioca is a totally new word, and agar agar is an ingredient I can't easily find in supermarkets here, I have seen it once in a recipe for tempeh. 😞
DILENA STRAY well it's good to try out new stuff 😊😊
Tapioca is the starch of manioc... if you can't find it in your standard supermarket an asian supermarket will definitely have it...they might also have agar agar...
Where are you from? If I may ask 😊
Thank you so much!!
paddypat8 thanks for the info.. I m from athens,greece ☺
I made this two days in a row now! The dough is enough for like 3 to 4 servings lol I like my crust not to thick but the cheese was absolutely amazing! My 4 year old is obsessed and will be having pizza for the whole week now 😂 lol thank you for this amazing recipe!
You are so funny ☺️ i ll definitelly try this
😊😊😊
BEST Vegan RUclipsr ever.
The best vegan cheese I’ve ever tried, thank you!!!
I just wondering, Can i freeze the cheese?
Sure!
If it’s good to freeze could you just grate from frozen like a real ball of mozzarella?
Made this pizza tonight, with your homemade sauce! It was delicious! We couldn’t find tapioca nor Agar but we substituted with cornstarch and we really enjoyed it! Had to play around a bit with it since we hadn’t made pizza before but super happy with the results. Thank you for sharing your recipe!
I was just asking what to sub for agar powder thank you. Do you remember how much cornstarch you added?
@@TimelessTales-abc Get the agar agar in an asian food store and grind it up into flakes yourself. Less expensive. Also the tapioca starch makes it more stetchy than cornstarch - also found in your local asian grocery store.
Wow!!! Video tellement super!! Automatiquement abonné!!! Merci pour la recette pour mozzarella.... i will never buy it again!!!
Thanks!!
J
I've given it a go and the dough is superb. Crispy and crunchy on the outside and very soft on the inside. The trick is to keep enough moisture in the dough so that it sticks slightly to the touch. I backed my pizza in a preheated oven at 200C for 20 min. Thank you dude!
P.S I used wholegrain and it worked just as fine.
Meni Fo awesome!! Thanks for the feedback!!
I think it would be great if you demonstrated this recipe with sourdough starter rather than commercial yeast...not that commercial yeast isn't good in a pinch but still, I think it would make a great addendum to this video. :-)
Karamoonsage good idea!
Yay! Pizza!
Say Hello Chica🤗🤗🤗
Just made this pizza, the cheese and the tomato sauce today. Was so good. Got good comment from everyone at home. Thank you for sharing such wonderful recipe.
Isn't it amazing?
You’re amazing man. Took me long enough to check out the recipe but glad i did. Also wanted to thank you for always taking the time to respond to any inquiries on social media. You’re one of a kind. Many blessings.
Exactly!!!
I did this, and it turned out amazing. The cheese is REALLY delicious (and not only 'good for being vegan') and even though it has expensive or weird ingredients, the amounts used are really low so its not really pricey.
Looks amazing! Question: will it work with regular coconut oil? Never heard of deodorized coconut oil.
Spencer Lo the coconut taste might be too strong
Look for refined coconut oil.
It has no coconut taste or scent.
Thanks!
Can I use potato starch insead of tapioka one?
polish cupcake it should work!!!
Wow, didn't expect such a fast reply! Thanks
. No it won't work the same or melt..dont sub
Just made this! Thumbs up, tastes amazing! Finally vegan pizza that tastes like the non vegan pizza, I am able to enjoy pizza again! Thank you for your videos and sharing your incredible recipes with us, you are truly an amazing chef.
Can i use an other oil as coconut oil?
Tom Brückner If you don’t like the taste, deodorized or refined coconut oil doesn’t have a taste just so you’re aware of that.
Morgan L nah ^^ my girlfriend is a little allergic to coconut, so i’m trying to figure out if i can use something else :)
I use canola oil for my vegan cheeses and it works just fine.
Thank you for providing metric units. I love you.
👍😍💞
This recipe is really amazing! Thanks for sharing.
"It's cheap if you cook from scratch..."
"First... *cashews* "
...cashews are cheap??
Tyrel Mosley 😂😂😂did you order a pizza recently ? $$$
I'm not arguing that pizza's cheap, I'm just saying that cashews aren't.
Tyrel Mosley sure
Patrick Cole I'm not arguing the non vegan daiya is cheap either, I'm arguing that cashews are not cheap.
It’s 1/4 cup of them though... not a one pound bag... lol...
Made this today with a different crust. This cheese recipe will be a regular part of our diet. I bet it would be awesome in a grilled cheese sandwich. 🍕😋
"It's cheap if you cook from scratch...First, cashews"
Ok
Use silken tofu instead
He only used a handful of cashews. I could probably make like 10 batches with the 12 oz can I buy from Aldi for $5.
I just made it with sunflower seeds and it turned out awesome.
@@embee1316 aren't ALDI ones roasted? from what I saw
I'm enjoying how absolutely done with everything you are
"Its cheap if you make it from scratch" *pulls out cashews, nutritional yeast and agar*. I mean im sure it tastes good but that's not what cheap looks like to me.
You can buy cashews for a dollar at 99 cent only stores agar agar powder from Asian store 2 bucks. I'm a bargain shopper 😂.
ikr, where I live, 200g of cashew is 7 euros and a pack of nutritional yeast is 7 euros also, agar is around 5 euros ... it's exepensive in a short time but it profits when it is to be used for many times
Patrick Cole 3 euros 200g vegan cheese!! I think it's worth it, it's cheap and you don't do the work
Maja the Psychic If you're vegan, you should already have these ingredients on hand. Yes, it's expensive to buy all this stuff when you run out, but you have to figure in the cost of each ingredient per the measurements used in the recipe. By and large, it's cheaper to make as much of your own stuff as possible.
Maja the Psychic it’s cheap because you buy those ingredients and they last a while.
Your eyes are dead.
the pizza turned out fantastic. I made it yesterday. I was eager to wake up this morning to go eat the leftovers!
MADE IT TODAY, saw this video months ago & saved it. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!!!
First time viewer. And loved the pizza recipe, I did had questions but I scrolled through the comments and got my answers. I enjoyed your presentation and humor. Other vegan blog recipes I've seen are so complicated and too much work. But yours was perfect. I'm a new subscriber.
I have just made it today and it was perfect and delicious 😍 Dind’t even wait for it to harden in the refrigerator, just put directly on pizza and it turned out fantastic!
Whoo love listening to this guy. Glad I found this. Making pizza soon.
