Just a bodyman tip, make a small block out of something for the sandpaper. Your fingers can cause marks while sanding which you'll only really notice after it's done.
Hi Jan, thanks for sharing. Just found this. Newbie here, I was wondering if this works on hand brushing with (Craft) Acrylics or is it even necessary if surface is smooth, th3m just clear coat? Thanks /Rosemary
Thanks man, great vid and excellent techniques! Does the dish soap help create a barrier between the sandpaper and surface, ie help prevent burnout on flat surfaces for even look?
I’m happy this video was helpful. Just work slow and stay a way from the panel lines and you will be fine. After time you will built the skills and will have amazing paint jobs every time.
I’m new to car modeling, I don’t understand the difference between wet sanding and regular sanding? Can anyone explain please? Love the vid, very informative!👌🏽
My body is Tamiya gloss black acrylic and it is rough…very even but lightly rough…I didn’t get a wet coat on it. Thinking about wet sanding and do a few more coats with a final wet coat. Then clear coat. What do you think?
This was absolutely the easiest method I’ve seen so far! Thanks buddy
Your welcome

Thank for showing this. Our MICA Blue is a fantastic color. It is the factory color that is used on the Impreza WRX.
That color is amazing!
Thank you for demystifying this process. About to do my RC4WD Blazer body.
Excellent tips Jan, thanks for sharing. Cheers
Thank You Sir for the color sanding Tut, God Bless All
I have put a drop or two in the water when sanding but never that much right on the body. But it seems to work for you. cool beans!
I got some little white spots on the flat parts with the sanding. What's up with those?
Hey man, 3 years on and still helpful! Just one thing. At what stage did you decal? How many coats of clear over the top of decals?
I like to decal after one coat of gloss clear then 3 coats of gloss then wet sand
Is there a certain kind of sandpaper for styrene I need to be using?

Wet sanding you use water to clean and the paper and soap to make a smoother finisb
Cool video Jan.
If you applied your paint with a hand brush, will this method get rid of brush strokes?
I have never tried that before. Give it a go and report back on how it turns out
If you do that you should use a leveling thinner or retarder to make the paint take longer to dry, that will give it more time to level out.
Thanks for the demo.

Sounds like a good idea. Just go really easy
Would PlastX help with a base paint that got rough??
Great video
Did you clear coat the body before you started wet sanding??
Yes. Get a good clear coat down. Let it fully gas out then start the wet sanding
