It simply amazes me how time after time you can achieve such a perfect finish without missing a speck of dust or grit. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much!
Amazing!
A very helpful tutorial Oni👍, should give a good idea to people whom are wanting to achieve mirror shine on their models! I appreciate the modelers who take the extra time to do this since the majority of the merit on a model car is the body itself. I see a lot of modelers that leave their car with orange peel and using Rust-Oleum paint and stuff on the body, especially the ones that don't make jdm or exotic cars.😢
Thank you so much Bryden! ^^
Impresionante...!
Glad you like my video 😊
Level of the clear coat was already perfect before the wet sanding and polishing :D
Yeah, It’s shine but I think it’s not smooth enough. 😃
@@OMGscaleworks I wish I could get a clear coat in your level :)
Stunning results, thank you for showing us the process. I followed this on my last model (hand polish though) and it came out amazing. 👍🏻🙏
I’m feel so good that my work is useful to you. Thanks a lot to you too for your following.
Great work, very detailed tutorial and easy to follow. Thanks for the share.
Thanks you so much Karl! ^^
Thanks for answering many questions that I already had.
You’re welcome! I just want everyone enjoy with scale model making and want to see everyone do a beautiful work.
Thank’s for the video. I have a dremel Stylo but I didn’t know the correct speed for use.
Thanks 2 U for watching my video too!
Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for your visiting too Michael.
Thank you
Thank you man for the video 👏🏻🙏🏻💐
Thanks 2 U for watching my video too!
Glad i found your channel 🙏🏻
Welcome aboard! 😃
Nicely done, great job.
Thanks a lot bro! ^^
Awesome build. Is it possible to get a link to purchase the dremel polishing attachments and the polish please. Thanks
Beautiful
Fantastic - how do you avoid sanding thru the paint on the edges and corners?
Actually I didn't sanding down to the edge at all. Generally at the edge there will be no problem with the orange peel effect.
Great tutorial!
Glad you like it!
That‘s wonderful!
Glad you like it!
Nice video. Do you wash the polishing pad with water afterwards? Soap and water? Thx.
Thank you ,Yes I washed the pad with dishwashing liquid
Nice. Can you share the link for the tool heads you used to polish the model? I want to buy one. Thanks.
Thanks ,I got it from Aliexpress try to use this keyword “Mini polishing pad”
wow amazing!!👍
Thanks 2 U for watching my video!
Okay, but does it stay shiny? Like, after years on display? Or, do you have to re-wax it every 3 years or so?
For the durability of shine ,I think it probably depends on the clear coat you use and thinner mix ratio.
mine have held their shine over 20 years and going. depending on how they are stored you may have and issue with dust. now with bare metal foil (BMF) i have some that experienced some peeling over many years. not real bad but noticeable. maybe the adhesive gives out over time. Also i never clear coat my BMF.
Could you tell me the base paint? Is it lacquer, enamel, water-based etc? Thanks.
Most of paint I used with airbrush is laquer based.
@@OMGscaleworks many thanks
@@OMGscaleworksdid you clear coat prior to polishing? From the start of the video, does the model have been clear coated?
@@ericohmanYes already applied clear coat before do wet sanding.
Do you change out the water for each grit of sandpaper?
Yeah ,must do it for the best result!
What is the minimum speed of the drill you set for polishing?)
I used the lowest speed of this Dremel.
Great tutorial! What brand/model of dremel do you use? Couldn't see if it is wireless.
Thanks a lot Jorge ,this is Dremel Stylo+
@@OMGscaleworks Thanks!
I have the same sponge set but polishing did not finish extra shiny. I used green sponge(coarse) with coarse compound - blue sponge with fine compound and finally extra fine sponge with car finish conpound mazerna 3000. What I have done false?
That's ridiculous bruh. Amazing. Are you just doing this process after you've applied the primer, paint, and clear coat? Are you wet sanding the primer and base coat as well?
Thanks 😊 I did a dry sanding in every layers of paint with #3000.
Do you have a link to where you bought the sponge polishing kit? Also, what wax would you recommend if I wanted to make a high gloss P 51 D mustang?
You can find them in Amazon just search "Mini Polishing Pad" and you can use some real car wax such as 3M ,Meguiar's or Chemical Guy.
Did you also sanded and polished side ribs on the doors? And smaller areas like pillars?
I did not do polishing in small area. I think it's not necessary.
@@OMGscaleworks Thank you for your answer!
How many layers of clear coat until it's safe to start sanding it like in the video?
Depends on the smoothness of the clear coating layer. If it's already smooth, you don't need to spray it too thick.
Where can i buy the polishing sponge that you used with Dremel?
I got this from alibaba you can use keyword “Mini polishing sponge pad”
@@OMGscaleworks thanks 😊
so the process is to paint and clear coat before starting wet sanding? do you clear coat again after polishing?
No, I did not applied clear coat after polishing. If you do that It will be like starting the process all over again.
@@OMGscaleworks got it. Thanks so much for the help! Great video 🙏🏿
Can this process be used on paint that has not been cleared
I think it can be done. However, you may need to apply the paint thicker than normal.
Please write a tool from Dremel do you use for polishing?
It’s “Mini Polishing sponge pad” I found them from alibaba.
Do you wet sand and polish after clear coat?
Yes sir!
How do you remove the compound that stays in the door and bonnet crevices
I used soft paint brush with warm water. But if it does not come off you can use panel line accent to make it black ha ha!
รีวิวสว่านไร้สายหน่อยครับ ใช้ของยี่ห้ออะไรครับ
Dremel Stylo+ ครับ ตัวนี้ดีมากครับ เคยลองของจีนมาหลายตัวแล้วไม่เวิร์ค จบที่ตัวนี้เลยครับ
Who makes the 'compound' you use?
Raditz Studio, my local brand.
Where did you get those polishing pads? Id love some for my Dremel.
You can find them in alibaba just try this keyword “Mini polishing sponge pad” Hope you can find them!
I was thinking about buying this Dremel tool. What speed do you use for polishing? I think 5000rpm is too high for polishing
I'm not sure how many rpm it is. Usually, I use the lowest speed to apply the compound evenly over the workpiece. and then add a little more speed (no.2) to polish.
ขอนำไปฝึกวิยายุทธนะครับ
จัดไปครับ
Do you have a link to the sponges? I can only seem to find 3" on Amazon?
Try this link

Where to buy pads?
Try to find “Mini polishing pad” in AliExpress
Can you give me the name of the camera configuration you are using?
I used only my iPhone 7 for shooting in every video ,no special setting just point and shoot.
I didn't see any orange peel effect to begin with ; )
You’ve got me ha ha.
@@OMGscaleworks 0:30 really hard to see; i thought it was like, pretend there was orange peel effect. I watched again at 1080p, barely saw any still. :D
Wow! 🔥 Manual (hand) polishing does not achieve fine...
Yes it does! I get high polishes like his all the time by hand ! It's knowing how to use the right sanding abrasives and polish compounds . It's practice but it works. Electric polishing tools can burn through the paint to primer if you're not careful and their speed can flip the body out of your hand also. Very risky and both ways work but hand polishing is much safer!
