    hey quick question, why did u pich the UV Cut clear instead of regular clear from mr hobby?

    • @ModelCarMods
      @ModelCarMods  3 года назад +2

      The UV CUT clear prevents the clear coat turning yellow caused by sun light. Doesn't really matter if you use regular clear coat from Mr.hobby since these models will be displayed indoors. Mr.hobby UV CUT clear is bit more expensive than the others but it's just better to have more protection i think.👍

    Hello, quick questions do you need to dry it outside or just use a fan when we wanna dry between coats? Thanks.

    • @ModelCarMods
      @ModelCarMods  2 года назад +1

      You can do both but i suggest drying it indoors with a fan, keeps it away from the dust👍

    Do you use panel liner after the clear coat? Dont you damage the clear coat when cleaning panel liner?

    • @ModelCarMods
      @ModelCarMods  3 года назад +3

      I don't use panel liner that much, if the panel lines are scribed well, you don't really need panel liner. If you have to use panel liner, only use minimum amount and clean it with minimum amount of Acrylic thinner, not Lacquer thinner. Lacquer thinner can damage clear coat more easily than Acrylic thinner👍

    Is there a reason you use Mr Gobby clear instead of the Tamiya clear coat?

    • @ModelCarMods
      @ModelCarMods  2 года назад +2

      I have used many different clear coats and I like the Mr.hobby super clear UV cut the most. It's the best spray can clear coat I've used so far so i used this most of the times. Tamiya clear is ok but it gives you thinner coat when it's dried so you'll have to apply more coats compared to Mr.hobby clear. And i think Mr.hobby clear shines better after polished. And there's big difference between Mr.hobby's super clear UV cut and regular super clear too. The UV Cut is bit more expensive but it's just so much better.

      Have you tried Mr Hobby Premium Gloss Top Coat (the green or blue can)? It gives that instant glossy hard finish without the need of having the hassle to polish which is a very tedious process.

      You need to primer it so the base coat can have something to grab onto

    is it necessary to wet sand the base color before applying clear coat?

    • @ModelCarMods
      @ModelCarMods  3 года назад +3

      Not necessarily, but if you feel like base color is too thick and has orange peel, then you can wet sand it to make it smooth👍

      After i wet sand it to remove the orange peel or dust which may got stuck during the drying process of the base coat, however do i still need to respray another layer of base coat again before applying the clear coat?

    Is it reccomended you use model specific spray paint or could you just use regular spray paint?

    • @ModelCarMods
      @ModelCarMods  2 года назад +1

      I would recommend using modeling spray paints. Some paints does weird reactions to the models so it's best to use name brand modeling paints
