    @BrianGreenstone Год назад +2

    Just wondering, but in the case of of your indoor test where you had a very, very dark background and a dark shadow on the side of your face wouldn't it have been best to overexpose by a few stops and then bring up the shadows in post to fill that all out? Even if you wanted it dark, wouldn't overexposing at least help you retain details in those shadows instead of it blending into the ISO noise?

    • @YoussefHallouly
      @YoussefHallouly  Год назад +1

      Hey there! Well, if I were to expose more, I would have to darken the side of my face that is already well-lit in post-production. I don't like doing that because it can make the skin look artificial or plastic-like. Additionally, I chose to have a dark background, and I don't think there is much noise in the shot. The ISO was set to 800, which is the minimum for Clog3.

  • @Lathrop_Media
    @Lathrop_Media 5 месяцев назад +2

    It can be cleaner to expose as bright as possible and thrn bring it down in post to thr desired levels. This retains more color information and allows cleaner shadows.

    • @YoussefHallouly
      @YoussefHallouly  5 месяцев назад +1

      For some situation yes, but you don’t want to overexpose skin tones too much cause when you bring down overexposed skin tone , it looks weird

      @@Lathrop_MediaYou’re right, this can be done and I do it also, when on the go or filming travel videos for example, when I don’t want to expose my skin tone "perfectly" and it can give a good result. But for my liking , exposing the way I explain give me a better result but again this is subjective

    • @Lathrop_Media
      @Lathrop_Media 5 месяцев назад +1

      @YoussefHallouly it's worth testing, for sure. Many people are surprised by how hot you can expose c log 3. Just have to watch highlight clipping but there is more color information when overexposed a bit, ettr is almost always best. Happy creating!

    • @Lathrop_Media
      @Lathrop_Media 5 месяцев назад +1

      @YoussefHallouly also, this works in resolve with the hdr wheels, other software might not handle this as well. I tried color grading in premiere and it was so different I couldn't work the footage in the same ways at all - so that will make a big difference. Davinci is the key.

    Great tutorial! But with these exact settings on my R7 I have to massively overexpose to see zebras on the face, no clue what I’m doing wrong, perhaps more light and lower ISO?

    • @YoussefHallouly
      @YoussefHallouly  Год назад +1

      Yes probably you don’t have enough light power, try to increase light power on your face and keep the ISO at 800, cause that’s the native ISO for Clog3, you will get less noise and more dynamic range.

    Bonjour ! Déjà je tiens à dire que la vidéo est très bien. Les informations sont pertinentes et la vibe est très agréable. Je regarde des tutos depuis 3 semaines et je fais des test avec mon R6 mais je n'arrive pas à percevoir le gain de plage dynamique. Est ce que tu vois vraiment une différence sur la latitude proposée par le Log dans des scènes très contrastées ? J'ai vraiment fais pleins de tests mais je suis frustrè de ne pas percevoir un réel gain en post prod. J'ai l'impression de juste partir d'un profil standard et de devoir retrouver ses couleurs de base, sans obtenir d'informations supplémentaires dans les hautes lumières... Je ne sais pas ce que je fais de mal et si je fais même les choses mal

      Salut, oui je vois vraiment la différence entre le log et un profil genre standard, beaucoup plus de latitude dans les highlights et aussi dans le color grading, par exemple en fin de semaine j’ai filmer en standard et je ne suis pas capable de voir les nuages dans le ciel tellement les highlights sont "blown out" par contre, je suis capable de garder les highlights en log! Merci pour ton commentaire, j’espère que ça t’a aider un peu!

      @@YoussefHallouly Ok merci pour ta réponse ! Je vais continuer à m'entrainer, je pense que je n'expose pas assez bien In camera, et je me base sur le fait que le Log ressmble au Raw et que je peux récupérer les informations en post prod. @@YoussefHallouly Bonsoir, je profite de ce début de conversation. Je m'interroge sur le le réglage de l'iso en c log 3. J'ai un R6 mark II et normalement l'iso natif du boîter est de 800. Puis je filmer en 1600, 3200,6400 iso si la pièce est trop sombre ? J'ai compris que 800 iso offrait la meilleur plage de dynamique mais si je reste en 800 iso dans une pièce sombre et que j'ai plusieurs sujets à filmer (dans le cadre d'une live session), je risque d'avoir beaucoup de bruit non ?
