Minvera (when she was alive) would heal massive amounts of people but as a result of using so much mana she would take away power from a random spot on the planet; causing insane natural disasters. She killed about as many people as she saved despite her intentions.

Honestly, yeah, every character capable of accurately judging other people have without fail, judged Subaru as a person with at least good intentions,Typhon just adds another layer, basically confirming what we probably subconsciously knew, that Subaru thinks he's a bad guy
I thought that was already revealed in his confessions to Rem and his interactions with his parents.

This episode was crazy and I thought the witches couldn’t get weirder
There's also Sekhmet and Carmilla to come, but both are more chill. Carmila is even waifu material. The three(Excluding Satella) new witches of this episode are definitely the weirdest,specially Daphne.

well apparently the etymology of the word sin related to archery term to fall short of the mark. So I've been told. Poor Subaru constantly feels like a failure. soo....
Some people feel that failing to protect those they love is the ultimate sin. He's watched the people he cares for die in a myriad of ways, each with him being within arms reach of them. I'm sure many would feel the same way. I think Beatrice or rem would be the only ones who could ease that thought process for him.

I mean, he had NOBODY to talk about return by death. He had no one to express how he felt towards himself and others. With no outlet, he blames himself, because he would feel alone ( until echinda of course )
Everyone is a sinner, so everyone would break. I think only Regulus would leave unscathed, since he believes he can't do no wrong and is perfect.
For those who are trying to understand how Typhon’s power works. The first part of her authority judges the sinner by inflicting pain proportion to the sins they actually committed by taking a body part. In Subaru’s case he felt no pain since in he didn’t commit any sins. The second part of Typhon’s authority, if the victim feels guilt for any sins they committed the authority causes you to crack and shatter, the more guilt you feel the more you crack and shatter. In Subaru’s case he felt so much guilt for the sins he thought he committed Typhon’s authority caused him to shatter into pieces.

@@_MNF__ Yeah but he has to understand that failing is not a sin, it's an error and you have to keep going foward learning from the errors that you make, if you think about it, he's very lucky since he can repeat everything he can make no errors unlike everyone else and so he doesn't need to feel any guilt since tecnically he did a perfect run since the first instant.

Basically confirms that most of the witches weren't bad by nature, just chaotic. Throw them into a earth high school and let things work themselves out.
Pride, wrath and glutton are chaotic good. Good intentions but they are too extreme. Echidona is hard to cue into what her intentions and morals lie. And Satella is also mysterious and hard to know were she stands.

You know.... I thought that the Witches of Sin would be more intimidating than Beletegeuse and less powerful than Satella.
But..... I Didn't imagine this
Some witches are stronger than their respective arc bishops and some are weaker

Game&watch no all of the witches Are wayyy stronger than the Archbishops with the exception of Greed
They are less powerful than Satella none of the witches even come anywhere near Satella, she’s the 2nd strongest character in the series for a reason
Also the witches besides Echidna were all essentially just normal Girls before they became witches including Satella, Petelguese was only intimidating because he went insane after absorbing the Sloth Gene
So just to recap
Subaru has to:
1. Defeat Elsa and someone named Meili
2. Complete 2 more trials.
3. Escape or defeat a near immortal man eating rabbit.
4. And now stop Satella.
Oh and did I mention he as less then 4 days to do all this.
I don`t think satella will be a problem, since when Subaru dies again, he technically won`t be telling Echidna about return by death.
He has (supposedly) unlimited tries though, at the cost of having to die (likely brutally) each time he wants to restart. What a nice life.
Weird thing is he will solve all of these in the next next loop

You may be wondering why Echidna told Subaru not to interact with Daphne (touching her, making eye contact, etc). In the web novel of this episode she made Subaru feel extreme hunger to the point where he ate his own hand just by looking at her left eye.

Fun fact: Minerva cannot harm anything, her Authority is on a permanent on. Even if she accidentally stepped on an insect, it wouldn’t be harmed or die. But she can indirectly harm people but we all know the outcome of when that would happen.

@@actin9294 that’s because the witches tea party ground, grass etc, isn’t real, Minerva only heals things that she classifies as alive, meaning all beings that are sentient. She can harm the environment but not living sentient beings.

Typhon is basically a walking disaster. Even though Subaru has been through so much debatably worse pain, her power rightly scares the sense out of him. If you are evil or ever had bad intentions towards someone (basically all of humanity) you will die a painful death, and even if you are innocent like Subaru, just being tested can make you feel unnecessary guilt over past actions causing you to fall into literal pieces.
Only someone that sees themselves as faultless can survive in one piece before her.
Basically only a sociopath could survive her.
Though walking disasters could describe pretty much all of them. Even Minerva, for all her healing power, draws that power from the core of the planet, causing mass calamity around the globe. And without any restraint, she can practically end the world by constantly healing everything in her immediate vicinity and draining all the mana.
So only another weilder of Pride could resit her

Edit: Thanks to replies, it seems like Subaru’s views ease it a bit, though in reality, who isn’t a sinner? Everyone commits bad deeds and therefore Pride has a lot of power over living things, particularly humans. Not directly committing sin is what results in Subaru ending up how he was - getting off lightly in comparison to a murderer for instance
No. He sees himself as a sinner but was judged innocent which is why he broke(his view of himself) and felt no pain(innocence/atoned)

I don't think arrogance would make someone a sinner. It's really just their perception of whether they are a good person or not. A lot of people thought Subaru is dumb for holding the Witch’s hand. I must clarify this: Subaru knows this is not the witch of gluttony because he said to her: you are also a witch, right? Subaru also didn’t want to touch her at first. He hesitated at first when typhone wants him to hold her hand. Subaru stopped and asked a question at first, but Typhone didn’t answer him and just smiled at him. That basically means: I will answer your question only after you hold my hand, so that leave no choice for Subaru. He has to hold her hand if he wants an answer.

Most people don’t realize how deep this show actually is. Episode 15 and on gets shockingly well thought out. This series seriously does not get the recognition it deserves for how absurdly smart the writers are. It’s unbelievable.

I just realized that Pride was testing subaru, first if he was "bad" in which case the more bad te more pain yoy feel, and second if he feels guilty, I imagine the more guilty you are the more you break, and by that logic, the only thing that could happen is Subaru completly felling apart
