I tell you what this has really shown how differently balanced FM23 is in terms of player development, Bellingham's gone up 14 CA from the age of 23 to 28. It's nice to see development isn't completely front loaded any more.
I think this highlights one of the major problems with FM this year and possibly last year too where AI clubs just don't develop young players because they play the 11 players with the highest current ability in every game possible. They don't rotate the teams so players outside the best 11 rarely get a chance to develop through playing games.
It's a problem every year tbh, it's why every AI club and manager feels like it's on rails with no actual system in the game to make them behave like real clubs or like real people with personalities, so you end up with things like teams spending about £90m on players and never actually using them every year.
Leeds City Council sometime in early 2023: "We need to build a new stadium for the Euros. We only have about a year and a half, so let's get cracking!" Random construction worker two weeks before completion: "Erm... you do realize that the tournament is in Germany, right?"
Don't forget Nwosu is a bit of a weird one, he's got very high potential set in the game (within a random range but he will never gen with low potential ability) yet a lot of his stats are basically random at the start of the game including a lot of the stats that affect his personality meaning it's actually quite a diverging roll of the dice as to whether or not Nwosu can ever reach that potential in every FM save, even if signed to a top, top side by the player and given every opportunity. There are saves where he will develop into one of the best goalkeepers in the world, regardless of whether or not the player signs him, and saves where if left alone he'll play out his career in Africa and never get an opportunity in Europe or move to Europe and do a tour of fail around most of the low rep leagues on contracts of less than 1k a week before retiring and if signed by the player will flop at any appreciably high level (I'm a huge fan of Second Yellow Card and he is letting Nwosu go on a free after getting a terrible roll on the 0'd stats in his save since he is unable to perform at Hungarian Premier League level, never mind Europa/Conference league). It's likely because he seems to be very highly rated in the Nigerian national set-up in real life but I believe plays for Water FC of Nigeria, so the devs marked him down as a high potential, highly rated youngster and yet didn't have much to go on when inputting their stats as there isn't a huge amount to go on outside of his games for Nigerian national youth squads and his one senior national appearance so just stuck a bunch of 0s in where they really weren't sure and did not give him a huge current ability as you can see at the start of the video (although 96 in global terms is not a terrible CA in FM especially for a young keeper). Worth checking in your save if you fancy a young keeper, can almost always be signed for less than 100k, sometimes less than 10k and he might become a world beater... he might also be totally hopeless, good luck if you give him a try :P
Poor old Endrick! Let's hope he had some lucrative sponsorship deals on the go. A full-time contract (38 hours per week, let's say) for £5 means he was earning 13p per hour for 15 years. The minimum wage is currently £9.50 per hour. Bless.
I just got to the National League with Dulwich Hamlet, that's weird! Jahmal Hector Ingram got me 70 league goals in the NL south. Ansu Fati only got 21 🤣
Stuff like the David Beckham arena happen when the nation needs a new arena for one reason or another and the game just makes one with a random national team legends name.
Hi Tom, could you do an experiment to see if AI will retrain players to more appropriate positions? Such as making a winger with good tackling marking and jumping and see if ai retrains it to CB/FB. Maybe do it for a few positions
Re the random stadium thing. I play as Boro and the Riverside expansion is capped at 42050 so I always edit this up to around 60k. When I get the board to expand the stadium they tend to take it to over 50k capacity. Whn this happens they close the Riverside and we usually end up moving to Leeds to play in a randomly named newly built fictitious 40000ish seater stadium for a year. Why the game would do this is beyond me especially as there is a 25000 seater stadium just up the road in Darlington!
Tom, I know the 2-camera thingie is the newest trend and all that, but the videos lack the energy and tempo for it to work. You also need to be snappier with the transition. It would fit way better with a faster paced tempo and a faster paced script in the intro. Also, don't just do it because it's a new thing, use it to your advantage. Have a one-liner you really want to underline? Snappy cut to the b-cam. They also look a bit too similar, it would be more effective if they were more different. Anyway great experiment as always.
A great idea for a video would be “does personality really matter” Create 2 perfect wonderkid “twins” and put them into the game. One with worst personality and one with the best personality and see how they grow/perform
I think some of the issues with players not playing is due to their reputation, the AI leans towards higher rep players often regardless of CA and PA. Might be worth re-doing with setting all their rep to the same?
I would like to see at least 2 more minutes of this, just to check how that team would spend that amount of income after every player leave the team. Would they be able keep a couple of years at least at championship? Im curious about it and i hope to see another video like this one.
How did England do? Steal any of the players? Could you do the same experiment and just make sure the player development facilities are the best (at least at the start of the league)? Just interested in seeing how they would develop differently with and without the facilities.
I would like to see what happens if you do this exact same thing, but with some tiny team in some random league in Asia or Africa. Does the team dominate the continent? And if so, how many Club World Cups would the team win?
Spin a wheel of all 92 english clubs and the first 20 get £1 Billion Or spin a wheel and that decides the ranking of the team and where they start (e.g 1st spin would start top of the prem, 2nd spin second place in prem and last spin bottom of National league ect)
big question ! how do you have that view where you can see current and potential ability of your players? I need that in my save I'm curious how good or poo some of my players really are cheers
you now need to do a part 2 where you see how they do after every player leaves and they get 650m. love the video
agree! lets see what they do with all the money and if it is better or worse in comparison
@@virtualrunni4873 they should have a massive balance before the transfers if some players or £5 a week
I feel bad for Nwosu, poor kid
This is the only usage I've seen of the saying 'poor kid' where the word poor is literal and the word kid is metaphorical
He surely just got a job down Dulwich Asda.
hopefully he was at least picked by Nigeria and won an AFCON or something in that time 😂
It’s not real bozo
@@treblinka9530 your not real bozo
What happened to Dulwich after they got their pay day from PSG? Did they spend wisely and did any quality youth players come through?
YESSSSSS A DULWICH HAMLET SIM
As my local club, I am fucking ECSTATIC
I think that griundsharing with Millwall makes a lot more sense than you think 😂
How come?
The *David Beckham* Arena being located in Leeds is a crime lmao
Indeed

I did *NOT* expect for TomFM to inadvertently break child labor laws in this experiment. 😄
On a completely different note, I heard that Tom did just receive a job offer as a factory supervisor for Apple, good for him!

Nwosu made less than 4k during his 15 years at the club, my man's on 3 cents an hour bruh
And people say footballers are overpaid smh 😄
I'm guessing the David Beckham stadium was built in game for the 2024 European championships
Leeds City Council sometime in early 2023: "We need to build a new stadium for the Euros. We only have about a year and a half, so let's get cracking!"
Random construction worker two weeks before completion: "Erm... you do realize that the tournament is in Germany, right?"
Also Leeds City Council: "Let's name our new stadium after this guy who was born in London and played most of his career at Manchester Utd."
England hosted the 2032 Euro's but it didn't play host to any games 😂
Don't forget Nwosu is a bit of a weird one, he's got very high potential set in the game (within a random range but he will never gen with low potential ability) yet a lot of his stats are basically random at the start of the game including a lot of the stats that affect his personality meaning it's actually quite a diverging roll of the dice as to whether or not Nwosu can ever reach that potential in every FM save, even if signed to a top, top side by the player and given every opportunity. In my game there is a Michael Owen Park (also built in 2024 ) and no one plays in it, we used it for a final of the Conference League
I just got to the National League with Dulwich Hamlet, that's weird! Jahmal Hector Ingram got me 70 league goals in the NL south. Ansu Fati only got 21 🤣
I want to see what the club finances looked like!?
Premier League and European football with a wage bill of £500 a week 😂
For reference: I use Dulwich every year and, although the start is slower, that tends to be where I get to after 15ish seasons, interesting…
Great video!
I would like to have a really exotic top talent. From some small island nation in Oceania, for example.
Well, in real life.
Thanks for creating these videos mate. I really appreciate it because I know how long it takes till every season is simulated 🐐
Stuff like the David Beckham arena happen when the nation needs a new arena for one reason or another and the game just makes one with a random national team legends name.
The Stadium will be because England hosted a World Cup or Euros happened on one of my saves we had Sol Campbell Park in Luton 😂
The David Beckham Arena in Leeds, lol...
I long for the day we see the TomFM Arena in Grimsby 😅😅😅

It would be a cool video idea but spoilers: it really does matter.

Dulwich Hamlet gonna get shut down by the cops
They play rugby at David Beckham Arena and rock concerts in the summer. True story
Dulwich are my local! Love to see this!
Thanks for finally doing my local club

The David Beckham stadium thing is so weird
Woooo Dulwich fan here! Hoping we can get to Championship at least
Can’t stop chuckling at the £5 a week legend
How do you pull up there current and potential ability
love the side camera
i only recently discovered your channel, i played fm when it was called championship manager back in the day! great work and a great video!
Tom: gives The Hamlet all the wonderkids.
Hamlet: “I’m gonna sign a bunch of turds and play them instead.”
Tom: …
I think the stadium might have been built for the euros
I guess that Leeds Rhinos play at the David Beckham Arena. Rather an odd choice for a rugby league team.
the players locked in youth contracts would only have been training with the youth team hence why they didnt develop as well
The stadium is built for the WC, they just build legend stadiums used only for the WC and neutral games.
More interesting than I expected
Spin a wheel of all 92 english clubs and the first 20 get £1 Billion
Or spin a wheel and that decides the ranking of the team and where they start (e.g 1st spin would start top of the prem, 2nd spin second place in prem and last spin bottom of National league ect)
As a liverpool fan seeing Harvey Elliot makes me feel happy
Does having wonderkids at a club improve their income from ticket sales because the fan following of each wonderkid will go there to see him play?
Never gonna forget the great David Beckham Arena
What contract did the secure when they were transferred?
What happened after when they got all the money, did they stay in the premier league?
Next time you should add a yearly wage rise, loved the vid mate
Do one were your entire squad is 200 overall and see how much they will dominate
And I watched bath vs Dulwich Hamlet about a year ago
big question ! how do you have that view where you can see current and potential ability of your players? I need that in my save I'm curious how good or poo some of my players really are cheers
Would be interesting to see the financials with all the players on such low wages. The club should have had loads of money to build a stadium.
True, they can't spend any on transfers either... so where did it go? Tax?
Loving the experiment videos, but are we going to get a series?!
Can u do a vid where debt equals budget and budget equals debt
Btw hope everyone reading this knows they Are amazing
Tom looking like a 12 year old on a school trip
When will you start a long term save Tom?
i suppose the David Beckham stadium was built by England government to host the Euro Cup or World Cup
Give the Welsh league 1 billion but bring back welsh teams in england attempt 4
Let’s build the David Beckham arena for no reason
Dulwich is great team :)
Pitty you didn't give a run down of the cups starting with season 1. In future you should factor that in.
Are you not doing actual FM saves on RUclips now @TomFm?
I live 5 minutes away from Dulwich Hamlet!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know which skin he’s using?
But what do they do with all the money Tom, who do they buy, maybe u take over
Slonina content in a video. W

He's grossly overweight
First for this amazing video
Can you do something with banbury united please
Went there last year for the BCFC Cup game. Decent little stadium. Conveniently near train station. Small but OK bar. Enjoyed your club.
