- Welcome to TomFM! In today's Football Manager 2023 experiment video I gave a non league team perfect facilities to find out what would happen. Will National League side Dagenham and Redbridge use their perfect shell and maxed out training facilities, youth facilities, junior coaching and youth recruitment to their advantage and develop their own wonderkids to rise up the ranks, or will their low reputation stop them climbing to the Premier League in FM23? This turns out to be one of my favourite FM23 experiments!

It can also be a game mechanic to prevent bankrupcy. Ownership changes could trigger it.

How does researching for fm work? Genuinely interested to know
@@erbro6960 We are given a certain threshold to work with based off of how our team did in the previous season. We have the flexibility to give our best players realistic stats, for instance if Messi joined Dagenham, I would not lower his stats to the extent that he becomes a National League standard player, he would still be Messi. All of this adds together to give your squad a CA rating. Other than that, we do the usual, player histories, transfers etc. It's pretty fun.

@@Alphoric Why would I? Everyone makes mistakes and I doubt that he did extensive research around the club to make this video.
The training facilities are tied to the stadium. That's why they went to 4 after the stadium change
Tom, liked this but would be interesting to see what would have happened if junior coaching and youth recruitment wasn't put at 20 as this is arguably the key factor over and above the facilities.
I want to see what happens if you give a conference side a worldwide scouting network and top level youth recruitment. See if they can start unearthing wonderkids from Gambia and Micronesia

Okay, from my fm22 game:
When Youth setup is scrapped - its actually a merge between youth and main squad. However instead of going with the training setup of either one or the other, the game recalculates the facilities based reputation and finances.
I suspect it as a game balancing mechanic to prevent bankrupcies.
That Dagenham and Red high expenses on facilities lasted this long, can be credited to the ownership of the club.
I really like Dagenham and Redbrige, i remember playing career mode in FIFA 16 with them and using Jodi Jones as the main man of the team, i really wish you the best for the future Daggers :)

Similarly to how you gave all the 5th tier 1B pounds, can you give them all perfect facilities and check how many of them will reach the Premier League? Perhaps even give them all a 50K stadium and 100K fans in order to help them generate income.

feel like facilities and coaches are so overlooked by so many players, end of each season i sit down work out if i can improve anyone in the club and i do feel that it makes a big difference for me.
on this note would be really interesting to see this done but also giving them all 5 star coaches throughout the club
Tom could you do an experiment where you put a Premier League Striker and a Premier League GK in Non League and see which one makes the biggest impact?

@@lewiswilson6892 our current owner was close to buying Aston Villa a few seasons back so he’s got the money just doesn’t want to get rid of our current manager and I happy with staying in the current league
Sometimes, clubs will sell their Training Facilities when desperately strapped for cash. It's very rare in FM, but this may have been the case. Or, the newly built stadium had much worse facilities.

how about perfect facilities with perfect staffs?
At 4:20 you missed the 2010/11 season where they were in League One after that 7th place in 2009/10 promoted them. I occasionally drop in to this channel but I always see errors like these that are just down to not paying attention to what's right in front of you and those errors just turn me off from watching an otherwise interesting channel. It's probably just my minor gripe though.
In would be interesting to do an experiment where you give a goalkeeper 20 penalties and 20 free kicks similar to the famous goalkeeper of rogerio ceni.
might not be the most interesting video but i wonder what would happen if you gave a team like man city the worst training facilities and recruitment and see how far they fall due to it
Cool, I remember playing with Dagenham in FIFA when they were still in league 2. Brought them as the worst team to the top of the PL. To bad that FIFA sucks when it comes to changes and Dagenham immediatly relegated the season that I left them.
What happened if you give a non league team a max reputation with perfect facilities ?
As a huge Sunderland fan I hated Lincoln after them beating us in the play-offs but since I started watching Tom I’ve started to like them a bit more. I hope they do well in league one and maybe get promotion? 😊

New to fm, so if I want to skip until transfer window, it will automatically simulate? Do I need editor to not get sacked and what effects happens?
Hello I’m currently starting to play fm 23 through game pass on pc and out no where when I try loading on now it say syncing data and I’ve left there for a good 20 mins a couple times yet I can’t get on and I’ve even tried re installing it and it’s still occurring I’m hoping someone can help me

I am pretty sure it´s due to the stadium change that the training facilities got downgraded to fit the club´s level. You are moving and no longer training in the same place.

The facilities could have gone down to 4 because of the investment in it, while it's being built you need to train elsewhere, which is not as good until they're done.

Tom, what is the mod/skin you have used for FM22, where you could see the CU and PO thing in the squad list?

@@TomFM oh I am not talking about players edit, I know when editing players I can see it, but in fm22 in videos about players you had a skin or mod that showed PA and CU in the team squad list without the need of using the editor
@@TomFM I found the video I saw the skin. It was: I TRAPPED FM22's best Wonderkids in non-league (e.g. 1:58 time where PO and CU can be seen in the squad list)
This happened to me in a FM22 journeyman save. The club was broke and sold the facilities.
Do this for every professional team in England. Simulate for ten seasons

Their highest finish was 7th in league two in 09/10. What about that 10/11 league one finish?

do an experiment of where you set a team like city with all of their players on like 1 million a week and see what happens
I don’t understand how you have manage to get so far along, the last two saves I have made have been destroyed by a weird bug, that happens when I click certain players, certain staff, certain messages and when I am trying to progress on certain day (youth intake day being one). Has anyone come across this?
This is probs a simulation not a full play through. But i havnt heard anyone who has had this issue.

Can you create a guide on how to set up the squad view?
Just right click the top of the lists and u can add whatever u want. On the Squad page. Then u can save it.
