      Reacting is important but playing too reactively will give your opponent too many chances to do things. There is only so much we can react to.

      Same here. I got to Diamond rank using only footsies, reactions, reads and optimal combos. My pressure game was non existent. And I hadn’t used the parry mecanic like I know I should. More often than not when I got pressured by an opponent my instinct tells me to turtle. Good players will open you up with grabs and overheads. Makes you feel helpless.
      One of the things that helped me get better is : play casuals. Not having that “fear” of losing. Helps a lot in training your brain to focus on learning why you lose. Also playing against “weaker” players helps with your pressure game a lot.

    You just earned a sub my friend. What a fantastic and straightforward guide. I had no idea it was that easy to set specific wake-up options in training mode. Here I was assuming I needed to juggle multiple recordings.
    Really appreciate the clear instructions on how to “do our homework” and Train it ourselves, while having benchmarks of success of successfully blocking, teching, and anti airing.

    Hey chris. Does delay throw tech in the corner lose to neutral jump heavy? Like say a luke HP? I find that if i delay it too much, i won't have time to dp. If i do the throw immediately, I don't have any issue with buffering the dp. But if i delay it, and they do a wake up jumping HP i'll get punish counter. is this the trade off of using delay throw tech or am i missing the timing?

    this is a helpful video and one concern i have though, even during practicing this, is i think even if i miss a throw with luke, they could still kick me in the air before i use my anti air. even in this video it appears that could happen if jaimie wa susing a kick. I mean unless you have PERFECT timing after missing a throw, it still seems like as he's falling he might kick you before you're able to get your anti air off.
    thoughts?

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  Год назад

      As long as you have a good anti-air DP they will never be able to kick you on the way down unless your timing is really, really off

    Would you go for that delay throw tech on offense if you aren’t plus enough to shimmy? I don’t see how it’s better than shimmy.

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  Год назад +2

      Shimmy loses to lows, doing delayed throw is safe to them. It’s the less rewarding, safer option when you don’t quite have a read on your opponent
