    2 minutes in and I already find this video more helpful than 90% of tech videos I see on RUclips, straight to the point no BS. I never thought of doing delayed jabs to counter mashers, I probably did it unintentionally many times but this will definitely improve my game.

    Great video. Really brought out to me why footsies are so important and why you have to move back and forth and try to whiff punish such stuff because from the time they touch you in neutral you are put in a guessing game if they know what they're doing.

Also definitely looking for rank guides per chracter as in if you were to start from rookie had zero exp and you want to play for example ken what combo do you only need to use or tatics to pass through each rank as in basically rankup guides per chracter but i think its best for you to think about content creation based on your viewers for the best gaim! Just subscibed to this SF6 supplement channel
    I am very lost after playing countless matches and stuck at Plat 1
    I have been relying on my instinct and feeling to play SF6 and never learned any fundamentals
    So I just stuck at certain ranks and
    when I climb to Plat my first thought was "Oh I thought gold was hard, and Plat is like hell to me now''
    and yeah
    obviously, knowledge of the fundamentals in SF6 is very important
    I will grind and be better, I hope I can climb to Plat 3 to this month
    Your videos really make me woke up from the ''mindless ranking player'' to ''a beginner who just started learning fundamentals and woke up to play his games''
    Appreciate your effort Sir

    Another great video. Hit confirming on DR is the #1skill for platinum rank. People don't play much neutral yet and they can't check drive rush, so you just parry-rush all day with high/low throw/strike mixes and pressure strings (yes I am that guy). You need to confirm hits/blocks and counter-hits in a blockstring into combos, especially cashing out with supers.
    From my experience so far (diamond 2), up to Gold is just shutting down neutral-skip moves like Juri dive kick, anti-airs, countering DI, and punishing DP and super unsafe moves (could summarise as anti-airs and have your basic combos down). Platinum is this video (i.e. confirming off drive rush and having some variation in your offensive strings/pressure), and diamond is about getting better at neutral (especially whiff punishes and checking drive rush) and optimising your damage and corner carry in unusual situations.

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  7 месяцев назад +1

      Pretty much agree with you on everything here. I’d also say platinum players need to work on creating a basic game plan and figuring out how to not throw rounds by going for high risk, low reward options.
      Thanks for the comment and for watching!

    • @Forever_Scrub
      @Forever_Scrub 7 месяцев назад

      @@Chris_F Totally! The main thing I was saying to myself through platinum was "stop choosing scrub options", meaning I was doing high risk things under pressure like DI and supers in blockstrings. When I settled a bit, observed my opponent's patterns and went for whiff punishes, planned jump ins, and drive rushes from in close my win rate climbed fast.

    Thanks for the video! Been practicing the drill as Dee Jay, and I noticed you mention if you confirm the hit, DR into the best combo. Wouldn’t they just block this meaty DR attack typically? If I set the dummy to block after first hit, my combo always gets stuffed when I go for it.
    Any reason we do this instead of the safer confirm into DR jab combo?

    I still don't get what you mean by late chain light attacks. Can't I just spam light attacks and they'll cancel each other to force them to block? Why do I have to do it "late"?

    • @stewl6329

      "...to force them to block?" That's the problem. You want them to think they can hit you back.
      If you spam light attacks all the times they will just stay there and let you finish.

      Set the dummy to:
      1) guard all
      2) do a crouching light punch after block
      Then hit the dummy with a jab into jab. If you see the counter hit icon appear that means you got the timing right!

    I wish SF had a burst mechanic instead of reversals. They're obnoxious and not everyone gets one which almost assures they're lower tier.

      You mean a burst mechanic like in blazblue/guilty gear?

    • @MKG176
      @MKG176 7 месяцев назад

      @@Chris_F yeah exactly, a ton of games have burst. Or sparking in DBFZ, also guard cancel. Because it's trash to have that 4th option, on top of being able to mash it after you get out of block string, when you wake up, against air attacks, to jump over drive impact, or sometimes just to put a wall of bullshit in front of the character. They need to make it purely for anti-air/wakeup and separate all those other use cases into a new system mechanic. Because notice every character without a proper instant rising reversal is just strictly lower in the tier list except for Marisa.
