Colonel Gaddafi was a good leader. He built schools, hospitals and houses. During his leadership, Libya was one of the richest countries in Africa. People were living a good life under Gaddafi and he cared about his people. In an interview, when a journalist asked Gaddafi "Do you think your government is the best government?" and Gaddafi replied "I think we are the best *available* government."
He was also a terrorist, terrorist have no place on this planet.

I was stationed at the base where the F-11F's were sent from to bomb him. Egypt would not give us clearance to fly over their airspace so it was a long way around. One of the planes was shot down unfortunately, and that pilot was lost. My base commander and the remaining pilots posed for a photo for Life Magazine. The pilots wore their air masks to protect their identity.
This monstrous brutality was uncalled for, Libya and its leader at the time had nothing to do with the attacks.
