i have the same one in my garage and want to rebuild it hope you can help me with some details if i stuck, the witch of my ex wife threw the papers from it in the garbage so i need to ask for new papers as well ,and somebody stole the carburators from it but i will buy new ones , did you as well buy the new carbs as they seem brand new there???
@@wastingmymoneyonmotorcycles hy thanks for a quick reply . so i suppose i could get carb for 150 or up to 200 ? also those plastics set you spoke about for 300 are those also on ebay or some oem shop? im also planning to set it completely apart and change everything ,also my model is yr 1986 and has a motor -starter one guy told me there is a sign on top of the head gasket placed as needs to be drilled but why would the factory leave it without enought lubrication i dont get it maybe u know about?
@@dariobrzovic9838 I would start by getting a clymer manual for it (on ebay). Yes the plastics set was on ebay I looked for it late 2022. It would be great if it had a starter motor, kicking it sucks when it doesn't want to start. Don't know about having to drill something on the head gasket.
@@wastingmymoneyonmotorcycles just once again thanks for the response and one more question please .I have just took out the engine out and will get the manual even i know most things inside engine im not sure how deep should i diassemble it probably until the gears without touching the gearbox part and just change all the worn out parts and gaskets and tighten up with tq wrench on assembly. right?
@@dariobrzovic9838 Ya I wouldn't split the case and go into the gears. Just take apart the top end and see if the cylinder needs to be bored or is ok. Maybe change the rings.
haha master milo tshirt! :) greetings from the netherlands!
Yes I went over to visit him and we fixed up an XL500 he had sitting around. When I came back I just had to buy this thing...

Tot morgen! :-)
Interesting setup with the carburetor, with idling on one and reving on two. Don't think i've seen that before.
Nor have I....
The Yam TT550 had 2 carbs also. One for low revs and one for when ‘nailing’ it.
Goede middag Carl vanuit Holland!
Good afternoon Gieljan..! Thanks for watching.

Check the stator they overheat by the motor and cause it to not start
