  • 10% ballistics gelatin testing the 139 grain 0.264 Lapua Scenar shot out of a 6.5 Creedmoor and a 6.5 Grendal showing its performance at different velocities simulating different ranges depending on ones case selection and muzzle velocities to see if they will make for a viable hunting bullet. (yes viable no I would not recommend using them)
These bullets were sent to me by Wally from submoashooting.com thank you Wally.

These bullets' are some of the most used for training ang competition in Scandinavia. I have never seen Lapua ever advertised these for any form of hunting! Lapua has other great hunting bullets, Lapua Mega and Naturalis.

Nice job! If u can get your hands on Norma vulcan, test it! A lot of death in them. Regards from Sweden

Like you stated, there are so many better choices. Still informative.
Still looking forward to your twist rate vs. low velocity. RMP's don't degrade at the same rate as velocity so prior negative comments on your low velocity loads don't matter. those low speed tests are probably the most important since almost any bullet works okay at high velocity.

Yes, the low velocity RPM differences is something I'm really wanting to get done and need to finish load development to have the impact velocities nearly the same. Badlands Precision has been kind enough to send me an adequate amount to do so. May do it with ELD-M'S, Partition, and the Bulldozer to also show some differences in bullet design and how that also may also have an effect.

For accurate muzzle velocity,,the chronograph should be 5 feet from the rifle muzzle...

I'm after impact velocities with my bullet testing. I would like it right tight to the gel blocks, but a few feet doesn't really matter, and when the gel blocks explode with high velocity impacts it does damage to my chronograph if it's too close.

I like Lapua brass but that bullet, I will take a pass on.
Thanks for the test my friend.

Hey, if I sent you some 130gr nosler RDFs would you test them?

Yes I would. Right now I am backed up with the bullets people have sent me and it would be months before I got to them. Shoot me an email at simplemindedfella@outlook.com and we can discuss it further.
