    I bought one in HCM and did 3500km in a month touring to Hanoi. Loved the bike, wish I could have brought it back to AUS. Jon, your mechanics actually fitted a luggage rack and some accessories for me. great service thanks

    That’s a sweet bike. How is it for a 6’ person? The only thing I see is the other motorbikes have extra an compartment under there seat. That’s very
    convenient. But I like a flat seat too. And a great test run!

    Why are you comparing it to the Wave or Blade? You should do a side-by-side with the Honda CT 125

    The blade can be a hazard when going around corners with its thin wheels, at leadt the PG has semi decent wide tyres

    Thanks for that review. How does it compare to the Honda 150XR?

    • @Tigitmotorbikes
      @Tigitmotorbikes  4 месяца назад +2

      Different bikes really, can't compare.
      If you are a user who wants to do light offroading for camping reasons, but don't care about getting better at riding or skills. Then the PG-1
      If you are a user who is testing the idea of offroad, and want to improve skills on a motorbike, then the XR 150 is best.
      For the city, there are people who love the XR 150 for city riding. For me personally, I much prefer automatics or semi-automatics for traffic. Therefore the Yamaha PG -1 is best.

    • @parsonstj
      @parsonstj 4 месяца назад +1

      @@Tigitmotorbikes Thanks for that reply. I prefer riding the XR 150 to an automatic, but indeed in traffic shifting up or down 5 times a minute does get a little wearisome.

    is Honda future any good? nice review by the way

    • @Tigitmotorbikes
      @Tigitmotorbikes  4 месяца назад +1

      On paper it is a great bike, but unfortunately I haven't ever driven one new.
      What I can say is that it doesn't appear to age well. Every 2nd hand Honda Future I have driven appears to be smashed to pieces and for some reason lost all the power.
      It is also a confusing model, because like the Wave, there are many sub models. For example Wave alpha, Wave RSX, Blade etc etc
      The Future has it's own list (which I don't know what they are), and so not all Futures are the same. Even the physical frame can be different from what I know, depending on the sub model.
      Finally, Tigit did actually own and buy 1 Honda Future in Hanoi. I never drove it. I was also against the purchase of a Future because 125cc of power on small wheels with disk brakes is a recipe for crashes. That was my prediction.
      Eitherway, I was ignored and the company bought one as an experiment.
      The bike was crashed 3 rentals out of 3 rentals, and I then forced the bike to be sold. My predictions were correct :)
      We run drum brakes on all our semi automatics. Tourists can't handle disk brakes on scooters, let alone disk brakes on a 125cc performance scooter.
      As I say, on paper, the Honda Future is a powerful / highish performance machine. It isn't a casual bike really.
      I would imagine if you are an experienced rider wanting a city bike that can also be driven long distance. This is probably one of the best bikes on the market. Just buy it new!

      @@Tigitmotorbikes thanks for the detailed response, I binge watch your motorcycle reviews since me and my wife is planning to tour around Vietnam. Recently we drove to areas like Dak lak and Da Lat and we only used Honda Vision and I felt like it is really lacking power that is why I am looking for a new bike. Please keep doing more informative videos, I'll binge your suggested routes next.

    • @Edward-Norton
      @Edward-Norton 2 месяца назад

      That will never happen. Australia mandates that motorcycles have front an rear abs. I bet this doesn't have it.

  • @edouardl2

    PG 1 should be compared to the XR M and not a road scooter. Yamaha designed this bike to compete with Honda small off road model not with their low end scooters. I don't know if XR M is sold in Vietnam but i saw it on trails in Philippines and it is doing well. Apart from that, I like more PG 1 look but i would feel cramped on it specially standing. These bikes are designed for Asian market, if you are a bit taller, the real answer is more XR 150 L which is quite good everywhere and still very cheap. Now, if you have real money a 300 cc dual sport would serve you better or a mid size adventure bike depending on your needs.

    • @edouardl2
      @edouardl2 2 месяца назад +1

      @@bigglyguy8429 Just remember that ADV bikes are not enduro bikes, they are far too heavy. If you fall with them on a single trail and you are alone you are in deep shiet. Good use for them is long trips with road and medium trails.

    1:15 you can’t find Honda dream unless you are in Cambodia. To be honest, Honda dream is not worth pride if compare to PH-1.

      The dream is a flat seat motorbike that is often stripped down to its minimum and used for jungles. It is an amazing machine and used for the toughest terrain.

    Blimey, the tyres don't last long. The Wave 110i is the off-road bike in Thailand amongst farmers, too. You are right: any bike can go off road. Excellent review of a bike which has caught my attention.
    Heavier than this but much more powerful is this new offering from China. Leten LT190 Adventure Cub. 188cc mated to a CVT box, liquid cooling and stunning styling. There's a couple of video on RUclips. One is a computerised spec read-out, the other a Chinese video demonstrating its prowess off road. Nick
