YO! Thanks for checking out the video No Wake Nation! Comment below if I missed one of your favorite Dropshot baits!!! Here’s a link to my other Dropshot video: bit.ly/DropshotSmallies
Ben...I got the MonsterBass June box for Father's Day! Cool! Every time I watch this type of bait focused vid, I get ideas of new lures to try. Your're turning me into a tackle-junkie of major proportions...lol
I hope you can get those bass magnet lures here, I've wanted to try those so bad since you 1st talked about them years ago and always a wait for them thru the site.
@@brnowak_fishing that would be amazing! I mainly fish st. Clair and want to try those out there really bad!!! So if you bring some LSC colors back for me and I will gladly pay you for them!
Z Man put out a color called Perfect Perch in their Jerk Shadz, which is the exact same thing as the Z Too. May be something you would want to check out.
PowerTeam JP Hammer Shad in Front Runner color. I caught large and smallmouth bass, post front/bluebird skies 1st time I fished it. This was on a small lake in the Traverse City area last week.
One of my favorites is xzone lures slammer, they mimic a goby and they have good colors. Their website has all of the color options compared to the stores which only have a few. They work pretty good on Erie
Gonna have to give some of these a try! You missed the KVD dream shot! seen them on the front of the boat behind you ha watermelon red flake dream shot is my go to for sure!
@@brnowak_fishing I can see how you like the bigger/fatter presentation. Definitely gonna grab some of these other baits and give them a try next time I'm out!
Great video....quick question: I smallmouth fish Lake Erie at Presque Isle Bay and also in and around the Buffalo area. I am planning to give this bait a try this year in early May.This Bass Magnet Twitch dropshot bait comes in two lengths.....3.75” and 3”. Which length do you prefer?
Hey Charles - I prefer the 3.75" model for most situations. The 3" is great in really pressured bodies of water and when the fishing is tough, but the 3.75" is a great bait overall
a bait that is similar to the Poor Boys bait would be the Angers Choice Kill Shot. you should check it our if you haven't already. I really like the Power Team Lures JP Hammer Shads
+Jim Faulkner thank you Jim! It was the Bass Magnet Lures Twitch. Also, because they’re Canadian (I didn’t think of it at the time) the prices are better for US citizens since our dollar is so strong
Where in canada are those made do you know. I live 5 minutes from the canadian border, might go over there today to a tackle shop and see if they have any of them.
@@brnowak_fishing im like 2 in a half hours away from toronto, but a tackle shop in St Catherines carries them which is about half hour away im definitely going to check them out. Thank you.
Strike King came out with the "3X Soft Baits" in early 2000s. Matter-of-fact, I still have some. On the package it states "Made with Z-Man Cyber Flexxx". Anyways, I caught my biggest walleye fishing the fluke style bait of one these. I guess the "Z Too" is the same thing. Great video.
When talking smallmouth drop shot baits, it’s hard for me to pass up a 4.5-6” Roboworm straight tail in a morning dawn color, especially when dropping on them deep on northern lakes.
Michael cross is there a specific time of year or condition that the morning dawn works ? I've heard people talk about this color, but I've never had too much luck with it. Just curious what I am doing wrong. :-)
Nick Winchester my best time of year for that color is summer and early fall when they are deeper (20-40fow). I’ve had a lot of confidence in it in clear water, not as much in stained.
Great video Ben. Can you order the Canadian bait if you're willing to pay the shipping?? I think it's now time for a drop shot fishing video, from A to Z.
Thanks Nick - yes you can. And I didn’t think about this at the time, but because it’s a Canadian company, you get the baits a little cheaper due to exchange rates
@@brnowak_fishing absolutely cheaper. Just ordered using your link (hope you get credit for it). Picked up some of the drop shot baits and some of the tubes. Overall, very affordable buy due to the exchange rate difference.
B W hey - you can and I have, but there is a shipping charge. I know Mike pretty well, that’s what w just easier to order from the states than from Canada
Benjamin Nowak ...I just think it was a very disingenuous on your part to start the video off saying you can’t get these in the USA but I am trying to get them here. When what should have been relayed to your audience was there is a “nominal “ shipping fee since your purchasing from Canada. By the way Poor boys Erie darter still out fishes them all in my experience.
B W sorry for the miscommunication- I linked it in the description because you can purchase it, but it’s not as convenient as purchasing baits from the US. The darter definitely still catches Megas and it used to be my go-to as well!
@@brnowak_fishingunless you edited the video..I clearly heard you say you can buy them but the shipping is high & that you are trying to get them in the states..which is very generous of you..
@@bw545 Disingenuous?? Seriously? Ben is one of the most genuine guys on RUclips. And its a fishing video dude, not a tourism video on Canada. Relax and take a break. Talk about a huge overreaction. His reference was to get them available for sale here in the states, to reduce shipping costs. To make them more affordable to fisherman who want to try the product. Never said you couldn't buy them. He said buying them today means huge shipping costs, which is why he'd like to get them stateside. Nothing disingenuous about that at all.
Bass Magnet Twitch - $18 shipping for $13 in product from the company. I really want to try em, but not for that shipping cost. Can you clue us into what bait shop in Canada might stock them?
+Tom Ouweleen Hey Tom, yeah - that’s one of the challenges of getting them is the shipping fees. I unfortunately have no idwa. I normally buy them directly from their store online. I stocked up a few years ago in bulk and haven’t placed an order since last spring
Poor Boys changed supplier, and the new darters and gobies are no where near the effectiveness as the old ones. I believe lurecraft was the original supplier for Poor Boys. The lurecraft, for whatever reason, catch more fish.

I'll have to say that twitch is a sick ass looking drop shot bait and I will be picking some up.
Yes! It’s such a good bait when they’re feeding on baitfish or gobies (up here 😊)

What you think about the fry by bass magnet?
I’ve tried it a few times, I’ve not really switched up from the Twitch though, it’s such a confidence thing for me

Berkley Powerbait Pro Twitch Minnow with the bulbous tail, not the fork tail. I did very well drop shotting that bait this year
+swissmochaj that’s one bait I’ve heard a ton about, but never fished. It looks great
Can we get these in the states yet?
I remember a couple of years ago you cracked a bunch of biggens on the Beast Coast Magic Flick...

How do you rig the big 5 inch baits
Jose Martinez not sure how BN rigs but I use a 1/0 dropshot hook to nose hook or a 1/0-2/0 EWG hook to Texpose it (with palomar knot).
Michael Cross ok that is interesting
I thread them on to a size 1 or 1/0 roboworm rebarb hook on a drop shot. I believe that's how Jordan Lee fished it on St. Clair.
I may or may not have got some footage of some largemouth eating the Z Too on Pickwick
