Thanks Mike ever since the old Bassmaster university I have been a big fan of yours for your great delivery of information to us fishing fanatics thanks
You are hands down the best fisherman around, and your videos are very educational .on top of your videos being very educational ,you always are throwing us presentations that are considered personal and not to many fisherman like giving away their favorite techniques. Thanks and have a blessed day. I'm going to try 1 or 2 of these presentations at our club tournament in San diego this saturday.because our lakes are highly pressured and I was looking for a different presentation but havnt found anything until right now ....thanks again .
The ned rig and a tube are something I’d never thought of but the others two I have thrown. Here’s another one. Nose hook a smaller elaztech fluke. Caught em pretty good earlier this year on that when they wouldn’t touch a straight tail worm.
I also drop shot creatures and tubes and have for years. A tube is one of my favorite baits to drop shot. I also drop shot a wacky worm on an open hook and owner weedless wacky hook with great success. I still use a flat tail worm or straight tail robo worm for smallmouth a lot too. Just have to swap baits until you start getting consistent bites.
Gary learn this technique my friend it will help you out a lot when they aren't biting anything else. I'm force to learn how to rig it up now myself... Good luck 🍀 with that... Keep on fishing 🎣 peace 🕊️✌️
I will give the tubes a try mike my buddy and my father fish with tubes. But i haven't had great success with them. However, now that i have more experience i think 💭🤔 I might actually be successful 😜 with the tubes when i hit the lake next week. I will let you know ASAP..,
I started fishing 🎣 with a drop shot setup but I was the worst when it came to rigging it. To tell the truth the drop shot still makes me nervous. I shy away from it which stops me from catching plenty of opportunities. I need to watch some videos to gain my confidence.
Please tell when you drag and pause the finesse swimbait on a dropshot, how long do you pause it? Because the bait is going to hang vertical in the water and looks unnatural. So the only option is to drag or slowly reel and then let it fall on slack line and slowly pick up the slack and let it fall again. But how often should you repeat this on a pause? Or are there no rules for this? Because this is driving me crazy for years now. I have a lot of good succes with the dropshot this way but i hear no one really talk about this
Your swimbait should not be going vertical due to natural current that will keep it horizontal as well as the pressure of the dropshot weight. I will give it a 5-10 second pause at times!
As always awesome video
I’ve been drop shotting the Berkley Gilly(the smallest size) all summer and catching good fish.
You made a LM guys head spin. Great Great Ike.

Great stuff Mike. Like your “Back in the shop” lessons. I drop shot almost everything.

Great video. I just subscribed to your channel. You should try a hellgrammite on a drop shot.

What's the average length you're setting the weight to the hook?
12 to 18 inches!
I drop shot a Zoom mini lizard or Strike King rage claw with success.
