Thank you so much for this tutorial! You're just about the only one I've seen make a video actually detailing the wiring and it was really helpful as I've never done it before this install! I have to say if you're considering trying this yourself, definitely do it! If you get crimp caps like in this video and a crimp tool for like 9$ on amazon this is really easy and satisfying to have done a job well!
I used this video to install a new radio in my wife's car! It was spot on, and super helpful. I had all the tools I needed before I started and had the confidence to do this myself. Thanks for a great how-to video!
Wow! This tutorial was exactly what I needed. Now I feel more confident, thank you! I have two questions, one: what is a good place for the GPS antenna and how would I get it there?, two: where do I connect the reverse wire from the harness? I have a unit that has both GPS and Backup Camera Options. One more thing, where is a good placement for the USB cable charge port that came with my unit?
Can you explain the two black ground wires connected to 1 black ground wires please. Can yu tel me what I did wrong. I turned off the head unit and turned off car but when I start the car the head unit automatic turned on. Is that normal?
Great video for guidance 🙂👍 but I'm not about to go spend 75$ bucks on a snap-on interior panel popper tool that was bad advice there are cheaper tools you can get one at Walmart and does the same thing for 1/3 rd of that price but other than that the installation details and video was point on thanks 👍
I have the tyto-01 all wired up and connected but the new radio is not getting any power. Factory radio still gets power if it’s connected. Please help
i am told that most corolla don't really have the jbl amp i'm cheaper so im only looking at older before 2007 models of corolla but i wonder if they all have amps
i have a solid blue wire saying power antenna which is shorted with another pin in the harness itself, would you advice connecting it to the stereo which has a blue and white stripes. Thanks
So on the back of the original stereo it looks like there were 3 harnesses plugged into it. And you only plugged one harness in after. So did you just have those two leftover harnesses not being used?

I’m thinking of installing a aftermarket radio in my 2006 Toyota Corolla XRS. Before I do I’m doing research. Is the radio double din only or can I have a 1 din radio? I’m thinking of buying a Sony XAV-AX series due to it having Apple car play.
Is the thing with the e-brake for if the new head unit has a display for it? Do I need to mess with that if I am fine just having the icon on my main dash?
Davis Byer you just won't be able to watch movies or see the menus if you put in a DVD Concert. If you have a stereo with navigation some stereo won't let you enter address if the Ebrake is not up
+1221Ralph I originally thought that this generation of corolla went until 2009 but someone here said it was only up to 2008. So with the new generation of corolla it will be different install parts and different disassembly instructions. So it wouldn't be very similar
Hey I just installed this TYTO-01 for a pioneer stereo in my FJ cruiser 2012 with JBL system buuuuuut I have audio when I first turn the car on but when I turn the car of and back on I have no audio for about 3 hours 🥲 I need help with this issue please anybody
thanks a lot man.. very helpful.. but doesn't removing the wire harness from the ac control panel miss up the programming when connected back or it's safe to disconnect them?
@@connectedcaraudio thanks for the reply anyway 😂 my system was not the JBL and I got the required harness from Crutchfield. Your video definitely helped when I did it 4 years ago!
There should be a blue wire with a white stripe on the tyto, you have to split the blue wire with a white stripes from your stereo to the amp you have for your subs and the tyto blue with white stripe wire
This can be achieved without turning the ignition to "ACC" right? I see the car is completely off in this video, but I'm worried about the battery, electricity, etc.
Yes, it is common practice not to turn the key to the acc position while Installing a stereo If the battery is Connected, this can throw a check engine or air bag light on some vehicles

Nice job
It's my work 👈👍
Will this work with a 2009 corolla JBL
can i use the red caps too or is it only the white snow caps ?
My question Is the 2 other harness that we’re plugged into the factory radio, are those just left hanging? Never touched?
I believe they were for an option from the factory for a cd changer which I didn't have and when installing a new stereo you were not able to keep
i am told that most corolla
don't really have the jbl amp
i'm cheaper so im only looking at older before 2007 models of corolla
but i wonder if they all have amps
Madison just the jbl system has the factory amps. 90 percent of the Toyota ha e stock non premium stereos
i have a solid blue wire saying power antenna which is shorted with another pin in the harness itself, would you advice connecting it to the stereo which has a blue and white stripes.
Thanks
Hi i have an 07 corolla how much is total parts and labor can you send me a link where to order a completed part thanks.

yes I believe the other harness were for a cd changer from the factory
Great video thanks

Interesting. I'm looking at getting an android auto unit for navigation and no interest in using DVDs so probably not an issue?
So prior to the install...disconnect only the ground off the battery and leave the red/pos on the terminal?
+jms 75 yes, this will uncomplete the circuit and will avoid short circuit when wiring
Great installation video. Will it be a similar process to install a stereo on a 2009 corolla? (non jbl)
+1221Ralph I originally thought that this generation of corolla went until 2009 but someone here said it was only up to 2008. So with the new generation of corolla it will be different install parts and different disassembly instructions. So it wouldn't be very similar

Would this also apply to 2004 Solara?
is the reverse gear signal input for a back up camera?
+junior Gonzalez yes it is
So will the factory antenna fit into the back of the after market radio, or will I need an adapter to make it work?
this vehicle does not need a adapter for the antenna
Where do I connect P Con cable from external Amplifier in a Toyota Corolla
I installed everything in the video, I’m getting sound but is is very very very low. Not sure what is happening
There are 2 types of harness
Make sure if you have the jbl system you are using that version for it

smssuper it's safe just make sure battery disconnected first, some cars will trip a light if you don't disconnect battery and some won't

Make sure to also connect the blue wire with white stripe from your stereo to the metra or schsche car wiring adapter
