    This is a great vid my dude! I found that if right after you cap Praag you can trade it to druz for a military alliance and focus on Ostland while Druz deals with the rats. Still getting confed at around 30 then at about 40 boris is ready to get the throt trait and to cap hell pit. (with supply line bugs) You can also manage to control the 2nd army of druz and suicide it on hell pit to near instantly get them to confed while making it so you only have 1 useless money taking lord after confed'n with druz. Early brother alliances can delay their confed but you can use that same tactic to suicide their lords and to also buffer yourself from Norscans while Kat is making her way through Ost and on to Drakenhoff

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  2 года назад +1

      Thanks mate. I love the idea of trading the settlement for an alliance, but I personally think Praag is simply too important as a major settlement and Kislev forts carry their civil administration, but if you're landing the confed closer to turn 30 then this is a very strong play! The "request army" function is essentially the ace up the sleeve in case they are being too difficult and worked great on prior runs. This function alone makes them worth doing, however, Confeds are far more weighted on threat level now than other factors. I'm still unsure on whether I like the way decisions are calculated in WH3.

    This guide has changed my legendary kislev experience
    Prior I was able to win by taking praag and sacrificing the eastern settlements because I just couldn’t deal with the onslaught of all the stacks
    So I managed to beat the campaign doing this but in the ‘keep playing’ mode just got completely overrun by chaos and ogres
    Your strategy is important because it secures more territory and uses cheaper armies so you can field the lords needed to hold territory
    This seems to be the only way to really keep chaos and ogres at bay - otherwise they inevitably destroy the west and the north east and you can’t claw your way back with the five chaos factions constantly at your throat

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  2 года назад

      So glad it helped out! Katarin, despite being the poster girl is a very hard campaign.
      There is simply never a break and it requires you to do big siege defenses and sending relief armies. This is why Hellpit, while being tedius to hold, can stop several armies and protect the interior. I agree the North East can be challenging to hold and just when you've raised walls and think you're safe, Skrag comes a'knocking! That said, I love the factions and the campaign is frantic fun!

      Thanks mate, sorry you're having trouble. There is a chance it's a version difference, and yes things should be easier :)
      One thing to check for is to hold off trading/non-aggression with any factions they don't like. Select them and hover over the neighbors to get a gauge on this, though it's unlikely they'll be too affected. The traits for minor factions is RNG and perhaps you drew a bad combo (that's usually what hinders these confed runs). More important than rushing this alliance is making sure they stay under heat from enemy threats. Draw them into wars that will exhaust their military and set them up so it's a matter of time till they need their Tzarina to save them ;)

    Would love if you could revisit the campaign now. Throt first? Azhag? Praag? tried them all. Praag is guarded by a fkn normandy sized army. throt is just pinging back and forth having 3 armies in ambush mode , Azhag is doable if you rush him , if don't he had more troops than eastern front in ww2 combined... you rush him ? throt declares and you rush to defend kislev... oh you know what? here's damn dwarf declaring you straight away to take away your hard fought settlements bonerattlaz once had using his stupid cave in popping either on azhag territory or going to your settlement at the front of the mountains... i dumped all my income into two armies , dancing through the blades with feet on fire ... finally i thought i managed to hold them reasonably. So yeah , here , have norsca klan that nobody touched yet so i am fighting against jet fighters with kossars and their bows.
    I know i am doing something wrong but DAMN it's hard as hell. I like challenge but that throt is annoying with the ambush tactic. and i am playing on normal diff kek

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  11 месяцев назад

      Hey sorry you're having trouble with this mate. Since Valkia's introduction this campaign was turned from hard to very difficult! Rather than lie and promote false hope, I don't think I'm going to revisit this in the near future. I might eventually as this does unlock Belakor and Boris but I tend to be Immortal Empires centric these days. If I get the chance I'll revisit the campaign, so you've inspired me to give it another look :)
      TIPS: to avoid ambushes, use your own ambush stance, moving up with 25% left. Hover over the ground and try to good rates if possible, but your mostly using this to keep your army invisible so YOU can jump on them.
      Army setup? 5 armoured Kossars with shields (3 acoss the front and 2 on the rear corners, then 8-11 regular kossars to keep the cost down. Getting Patriachs on bears with the heal ability is king, also get research that gives +4MD on Kossars as well as more witches - casters need levels so field them sooner. Late game throw 2-3 War Bears on each flank (6 is all you need) with 3 Xzar Guard to protect the front line. This gives you late game power as well as affordability. Lastly, Stretlsi are good but 4-6 max is all you need. They are expensive and need LoS. See my Kislev mastery guide for more as well as Tier List. I believe in you!

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  2 года назад

      Ostland is an empire minor faction so it is a hostile action to take them. Typically I forbid attacking human factions but this one is a swift victory, meaning you can subsequently focus on making strong allies. A strong Empire is a strong Kislev campaign! ...I just wanted Ostland's goldmine ;)
      Also, feel free to march past the Empire and take out the vampires for a 2nd goldmine.
      When Kataryn/Kost rescue Boris you can either gift him a major fort or just confed him..... let's just confed him!

      A great tactic can be to put your army in Ambush stance while still in range of your settlement.
      If he's aggressive, you'll intercept him and destroy his army on the approach.
      Depending if he has a relatively weak army you can hire another lord and a few Kossars to build a force you think you can defend with - early Norsca are weak to missile factions. It's key to getting walls up on these settlements ASAP so do whatever you can to not lose ground.
      Also, once you destroy their army, see if they're interested in peace and consider it if you don't intend on expanding that way in the short term. Hope that helps!

    Why are patriarchs good?

    Because they seem to suck as agents
    I used a lot of frost witches however.

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  2 года назад

      Frost Witches and Maidens are both excellent. The Patriach starts off squishy but having 2-5 of them in your army will boost your casualty replenishment through the roof. Moreover, ALWAYS give them the healing spell, put 2 points in this. This means your hero heavy army will be healed up after every encounter. Once they hit level 11 their Bear Mount fixes every weakness they have and they now have the speed to run over and drop heals on any characters/bear units. They can run ahead and tie up units while your arrows and guns shred them so always max HP, armour and melee defence with them after the healing options are exhausted. One more thing... They have a level 20 skill which does -20% attrition. That includes plagues. x5 of these makes you immune to every form attrition. They are a rare non-caster hero that flirts with S tier (see my tier lists to see what praise this is!)

    Allying with literally anyone on this campaign results in them whining and constantly begging for military help to fight the wars they fail at, and every single time I join the war the first thing that happens is whoever is smacking them about immediately forgets they exist and comes to take one of my settlements. Straight away, every time. The allies do nothing, what's the point? It forces you into an alliance with the Empire that you can't avoid, and then the empire does absolutely nothing to help.

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  Год назад

      I have a video on diplomacy that highlights the best way to use diplomacy: ruclips.net/video/jGTbnZMY1Co/видео.html
      Regarding alliances - if you're on the frontline, and the other party is in a safe spot, you want military alliances as you can pull them into your conflicts and align their interests and military with your expansion. Defensive Alliances are best if you're the one in danger of being declared war on to rope them in.
      Most of this is to align your neighbours to the same wars to prevent multiple offensive fronts. This means less military spend, more construction and better concentration of power. As for armies, check out my Empire Formations Guide, it'll give some ideas. Use primarily basic Kossars and then 3-6 armoured kossars on the corners to hold the line. Good luck!

    How to not accept confederation? I don't want to expand suddenly. I enjoyed playing as an over watch to my allies. suddenly the rasputin guy gave all his armies and lands to me.. @_@

      Confederations can just be declined, normally. You can opt to stay allies or even just trade partners with anyone.
      The only exception is Kostaltyn and Katarin, where if you win the supporters race you automatically confed, but that won't happen till at least turn 55-100 :)

      Haha that's great! Good luck with your campaign! Check out my Kislev Guide and Tier List videos if you're looking for pretty much everything I know on these guys (that I wish I'd known on my first play through). Unless you're a veteran, then give em hell!

    confederation is a waste of time because there's no money to actually have the military to defend any of it. Gorequeen just waltzes in like you're not even there, same with the Norscans north of the mountains. I had a military ally miles away from vampires get warred by the vampires, then the vampires immediately attacked me. Sweep straight in and take half my settlements. Kossars are crap they don't work this way at all, as soon as they're in melee they become utterly useless. It gets really fun having a full stack army on *normal difficulty* get a "valiant defeat" against a half stack of whatever's just wandered straight in. There's no money to get any of the unit upgrades. I'm basically only using Kossars and I have no money, ever. I have 4 militaries around turn 50 with no money, and basically no empire because fast confed is a great way to have a massive, indefensible empire with no money and settlements that keep getting reset. Also, my allies do nothing. Apart from Kostaltyn, the rest of them are useless. Confedding Druzhina Enclave is a waste of time because they can't even hold their settlements. Neither can Brotherhood. You get a few settlements split down the middle by whatever has swept straight through them like they're not there. None of this strategy works at all.

      You've highlighted a common issue here (correctly) that this was filmed before Valkia was introduced, and boy does she bring in a lot of pain into the realms of chaos map. Being honest I can't even recall that map's intricacies as I centre around Immortal Empires. I really recommend jumping in there as Miao Ying as Kislev rank among the hardest of all campaigns (and there's many there!). I agree with the cons of confederation and the hazards of overextention. Before Valia was here it was an easy defense, but now I think more of a turtle strategy is the way (build T3 walls on your minor settlements!)
