i don't think growling sidewinders will do great on these. At least he need time to get use to it first. He's a great fix wing pilot, but i've seen him fly a UH, he deffinately need training.
My dad was 662 squadron in the 80s 90s. Flew the Gazelle and Lynx. We don't talk much family issues. The only nice thing my mom will say about my dad "Great pilot.... Shit husband lol.
@@Robert-G I have few vids on my channel with Longbow 2 running on Pcem. I was able to finish entire campaign without a single CTD. Longbow 1 runs just fine on DOSBox as well. Both still great games after all those years.
The level of detail... honestly for the first few seconds I was like: "Is this the game, or are they showing the real one first?".... well done, artists!

@@allstars1809 If im not mistaken, the things that are classified on the f14d is the irst (understandable since it could detect and track an f22 from quite a bit away, according to navy tests) and stuff like the sparrowhawk hud and ptid. Heatblur has also said that there are many little things where there's not enough documentation to model to their standards, which is why they wont do it. Either way, since every modern module in dcs is licensed by the actual manufacturer (boeing, lockheed, etc) they have access to MUCH more stuff than literally any other sim in existence to consumers :D
Absolutely true. It is increasingly becoming difficult to believe this isn't the real thing with the work Ed has done on the AH-64D. I can't wait to seat in this cockpit in vr. Ed artists are out doing themselves. 👍

Only problem i had with this video was i had to pause it every couple of seconds to really take in the insane levels of detail from the cockpit to the rotor head to the gun, it all looks amazing
Huey, yeah can't fly that. I keep finding the ground in interesting ways though. Hind, far worse than the Huey in my inept hands. Apache? Nothing like being able to blame the computers for my crashes. This looks so damned amazing. I remember when the in-game cutscenes would have died to have this level of detail, forget the actual in-game graphics. I have yet to buy a module that I didn't love to death. So much to learn, great learning curve, and never, ever get sick of doing the start up sequences. That adds so much to the immersive aspect of this series. I wish my life looked as good as this. And ran half so well!
Funnily enough I find the Hind a lot easier to fly than the Huey, especially with the autopilot channels on. Just gotta watch the forward speed doesn't creep too close to 350kph or you might hit retreating blade stall. Freely admit that it's much harder to spot land though because you can't really see down at all and the divider between you and the gunner needs to be really high with reference to the horizon which just feels strange. Also unless you're landing straight on a runway movement on the ground is liable to make it tip over.
@@Parabueto Nah, I just suck, lol. My setup isn't very good for the tail rotor either. Huey is lighter, so it is more agile and easier to recover when I screw up. Back in 2005 I was in the hospital for surgeries and my first roommate was a South Vietnamese Huey pilot. Had some great stories, and sad ones. Took an RPG that blew his co-pilot in half, the lower half stayed in the chopper but it didn't detonate. He loved the agility of it, but said it was easy to shoot down because of how flimsy it was. And, I do like making my nephews laugh as well. :)
Last time i got this much excited was when ED left a little teaser of Viper at the end of one of their videos! Wow how time passes! Cannot wait for this one! Thank you for all the hard work you guys put in.
It will be interesting to see the numbers compared to the Tomcat. The F-14 has been the only module I have pre-ordered so far. I like the Apache but since I still can't fly helicopters well enough in DCS it can wait for the first sale. ED really needs to include a helicopter trainer with the free DCS download.
I've literally only purchased the A-10C for $15 and have yet to feel the need to buy anything else. Thank you for what you provide with DCS. I spend close to 10 hours/week running the A-10 and it's very therapeutic.

Played “Gunship” first on C64, later on PC. Loved Jane’s Longbow, and now I cannot wait for ED’s creation of the Apache to be released.
I used to love Gunship on C64...Looking at the game now, it is much less detailed than I remember 30 years ago...Getting old!

I was too young to get hang of Gunship at C64, but later GS2000 became one of my all time favorite game (I only played the Amiga version).
