Fantastic video...... I enjoy your upbeat attitude, plus all your instructional videos. Thanks for taking the time in showing this 66 year old bike rookie how the procedure is done correctly !!
No, thank you for making these videos. Nothing is better than a straight to the point hands on demo. Keep on truckin' man!
Fixing up my sister in law's cruiser bike, 9 years later, this video is still gold. Thanks Bikeman🤙🏼
Bikeman is timeless! ...mic drop.
It was my first time ever taking my bike apart since I first got it from like 10,12 years ago and I didn’t know how to do this part and thankfully I found this video and it was super helpful I really appreciate it.
i like how he is so positive all the time :D
i just picked up 2 cruiser bikes in pretty bad shape...never done any bike maintenance before! but your videos have done so well step by step, I can't add up how much you've probably saved me in labor fees!!! keep up the good work Mr. Bike Man!
HUGE HELP!!! I NEVER KNEW THOSE CUPS IN FRAME COULD BE REMOVED!! All my friends and I were taught to work on our own bikes and keep them in good shape so I don't think I've ever had to replace any, but I'd love to throw new style 3-piece crank on my old GT speed series frame and NOW I CAN YAY!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I was able to fix my daughter's bike while she is in physical therapy for her knee and now when she's all healed up she will have her bike to ride again.
come on over to our new channel ruclips.net/channel/UC1g_z6Qvq-fLRTQbZ71-6sA
Can't thank you enough Bikeman! Bought a fat tire cruiser bike used that was jerking like it was skipping gears even thought it's single speed. Didn't know how to get inside it until this video. Bearings were rusted with a few balls missing in one of them and no grease. Clearly the problem and cheap fix! THANK YOU SIR!
Solid video bikeman! Getting ready to fix a beach cruiser. 2022 and this video is still GOLD!!!
hey bikeman keep up the good work man your videos are hella entertaining and not boring and also very informative :)
Thanks dude! I got my cruiser in April and my goal was 1,000 miles by the end of year. I was on mile 991 and the bearing wheel just completely disintegrated!! Got the replacement parts and grease coming on December 28 from Amazon, hope it all works out.
I want to thank you for making this video. I learned a lot from your teachings. Greetings from Argentina.
Followed the video while installing a new BB on my Schwinn Swindler. Thanks!
It's 2024 and I just used this video to fix an old exercise bike. Thanks!
A blast from the past...We have come along WAY. Nice to hear from Mr. Pump today. My father will live forever
Sorry about your dad. I was just thinking the other day the changes in the video and stuff around there. You losing weight too. Hope all is well non bike related wise. I thought it was dumb some people didn't like his camera work. But he was family. And blood is thicker than lube.
This came up in the suggested videos list so I just clicked it. Didn't mean to go so far back in the BM world.
BikemanforU how can I installe a fork and a handle
Podra conseguir accesorios para una huffy de mujer thank.s
thanks for the video! I ordered a one piece crank off ebay...I didn't know it was you guys....excellent! it arrived quickly and it fits the bike...thanks!!!
You saved me Dude. Back on the road. Found a pile of bearings and shredded pot metal. All good now Bike Man. Thanks from San Francisco
(cont.) i have 11 bikes and this 10spd. i have owned for like 20 years and have never noticed the way the crank and the freewheel system worked. i thought id share that with you bikeman , i really enjoy your videos and they have been a lot of help. i thank you and your crew keep it up!
I learned more about what I wanted to know from your 12 min video than the 30 min I wasted before that.
Hey BikeMan, You are awsome. I've been trying to fix my 8yr olds bike for thelongest time and cause of your videos, I got my kid back on the street. Thnx BikeMan. :)
I'm just swapping out a sprocket (a 44T for a 36T) but this is the basic information that I need, and this video made it all make sense. Not sure I have a wrench big enough, though. Also, I think I bought a basket rack from you guys about three years ago off eBay!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO, IM PUTTING A CRUISER BIKE WITH 66CC ENGINE KIT, I HAVE THE 26 INCH CRANBROOK BEACH CRUISER 26 INCH, I DIDN'T WANT MY MOTOR SITTING HIGH ON THE FRAME SO I NEEDED TO GET THE EXTENDED CRANK SET, THEN FINDING YOUR PERFECT VIDEO SHOWING HOW, THANKS IM SO EXCITED 👍🏿💯🔥🤜🏿🤛🏿
First time on your site.....LOVE IT! Like your commentary feels like you answer my question às it hits me. YOU ARE MY BIKE MAN
Wow! I was impressed... and also dismayed at how many parts, how many tools, and how much work and expertise went into that replacement operation.... I think it would not be very easy or convenient for me to do at home. I bought a cheap indoor stationary exercise bike, and very recently it has begun making some knocking sounds and has been "jumping" a bit. This began when I was pedaling at high resistance.
Just did the coaster brake on my Firestone Warrior...next up is the crank. This will help...thank you, Sir!!!
You ten Best Bike man! I like your vedeo on the assembly of an old fashion crank...thanks on your expertise..I now can change my son's bike!!!
your technique for taking pedals off is rad bikeman! never seen it done that way before. NEVER FEAR
jst saw this video to see how to replace the crank and bottom bracket and bearin cups, i have to say thanks for the clip it helped out alot
Awsome vid! Did this to my 57' schwinn the other day. Cleaned up the bearings and they looks brand new. Wonder where your new bearings are made..... Seems like the old ones last forever
Thank you BikeMan. I may see if I can find a bike shop to put a new set of bearings on both of my bikes. I have not been riding my bikes because of the of the "knocking inside the bike pedals".
Thanks for the video. Couldn't have done it without your help :)
thanks for all you do bike man!
Love the video but from all the rust I see on the bikes I see you working on I might suggest using green marine Grease to pack your bearings . I use it on all my builds .Thanks for the fun & informative video's !!!
Thanks a lot man, I fix my bike thanks to this video, once again thanks for your help
you've got the tools, you've got the talent. Nice
My bearing are 25 years old and in desperate need of grease. I was able to remove the bearings and replace with new ones then added extra grease... thank you!!!!
Thanks for the Vid! helped out alot, I was really confused about upgrading to 3 piece cranks but i didn't know if my bike was compatible. Had no clue the bearing cups( didn't even know it had a name too) could be removed. again, thanks!
Sick vid bro...... exactly what I needed...
I totally dig you two! thanks for sharing greetings from La ciudad Mounstro (Mexico City)
is this the same kind of bottom bracket on Walmart bikes? I want to help fix my friends bike and it's a Genesis from walmart

The Bearings on my Pedal Crank are SO dry cause it's been in the elements of weather, I will watch this video to guide me when I do grease my Bearings!
Fantastic teaching thank you bro. I learn how to do it now I am able to fix my self. Thank you a lot
My one piece crank on an old school bmx will not pull through without removing the right side bearing cup. I'm here to make sure that just knocking it out is the right think to do. I think it might be more difficult to put back on though. Great video. Subscribed.
hey bike man nice video! this helped me on my 1 pc crank for me bmx
Much love Bike Man! Couldn't find a vid on this old style of BB till now. Rock On!
We got vids on how to convert it too
dope! I just found out how cheap cartridge bottom brackets are. Probably gonna do the upgrade.
I had to watch this again to see the quality Wald ? bearings you use and that fancy new tool good job !! Bikeman Rules !!
your video is the only one that shows the removal of the bearing cups, i was wondering about that. thank you bike man
how do i find out what size crank i need, Im replacing the entire crank from a mountain bike with 3 gears instead of the one shown in your video. Is there a size difference i need to be aware of, i just want to buy the right piece the first time. thanks
thanks for the vid bikeman..iam gonna be doing my 70's columbia sports 3 crank this coming week
Well I gotta replace my pedal sprocket I bent it yesterday tried to straighten but chain keeps coming off where it was bent this video definitely helped
I really enjoy youre videos and style! awesome...
Will this work on a Schwinn 26" adult Tricycle?
Good video, quick question, my crank arm is wobbly, and I just bought the bike a few months ago, should I just return and exchange it for a new one, or should I try to repair it, I’m not sure exactly why it is wobbly, any help would be great, thank you
Fantastic video,very helpful,can I ask what grease was used,name brand,and type perhaps,great video.
Perfect! Just what I needed to fix our Schwinn excercise bike!
you ate an amazing encyclopedia of bike repair.
Thanks BikeMan... curious to what spanner tool you used and size on the lock ring? Does the lock ring need to be tight before the lock nut?
hey bikeman I have a older schwinn tricycle and I want to paint it and upgrade it some. I don't know how to disassemble the rear axle. I also was wondering if I can get better bearing for it
Awesome and informative and fun! Thanks!
Hey any ideas of how to replace the one piece crankset on a schwinn delmar beach cruiser bike? I called my bike sarge and sarge is my daily rider. Put alot of low miles on her till the cranks we're shot and it's making a creaking noise. This video helps me alot i love the video good job on the video bikeman

Thanks Bikeman YOU ROCK!!!!
Bike man I had just bought a new crank, sprocket and bearing kit which grease do I use? Let me know Thanks!
My son just purchased a 1948 Sunshine Waterloo Co bike and he is restoring it. Would you happen to know where he could be the bearing kit from or even if they still make it? Great Video by the way.
Nice video. Very useful. Thanks for sharing.
this is the 3rd or 4th bottom bracket overhaul vid i've seen that had appleseeds stored in the bb. must be some ancient anti-moisture concept.
very easy instructions
Bikeman! Where can I find replacement screws for bicycle like this? I'm doing a rebuild and forgot where they all go.
Yes. You will need a converter we just shot the video so stay tuned
DID YOU MAKE THAT BIKE STAND LET ME KNOW THANK
your a hands down stud great vid
yes you can you need a converter. We have a vid on that too.. Go to our bottom bracket play list
Hey bikeman love your videos, I have a question i converted my own Schwinn road bike i want to say its from the 80s to a single speed and i wanted to get a bigger chain wheel, i was wondering do all 1 piece crank have removable chain wheel? if so do i need a tool to change/replace it?
Thanks for the help
Really good vid. Thank you.
Yes he is back on his bike and went to the pedals you are installing on this bike. I don't know why but I guess he feels they are safer. What's your view on cranks and strength?
Thanks
@BikemanforU weather is hot hot hot bikeman! did a nice 16 mile ride today in the sun! doing a 50 mile ride in a couple of weeks with some friends and filming it, i shall be wearing my bikemanforu t shirt for sure! hope all is good!
thanks for the video bro !
so I have a ten speed that I striped down and want to turn into a fixie and it just happens a one piece crank on it or was on at this point.what do I need to put in a bottom bracket since it has no thread? help and thanks
Do one on replacement of wheels bearings. Great job
Hey bike man.. I have an old schwinn suburban and I want to change my arms to something more modern.. How would I do it?
might be a good idea to show the newbies the right way to fix loose fitting cups,it's a difficult thing to fix, need to score inside the bb tube with a hammer & punch,i fixed a bmx by jamming a sliver of paper between the edge of the cup & bb tube, not ideal (very dodgy lol) but it was a temporary fix until i could get the punch to do it properly :)
Cool video thanks for sharing
Can I put a 3 piece front crank on a old beach cruiser huffy bycle if i have a mountain bike back tire on my bike? It's a 3 piece front sprocket from a huffy mountain bike.
Thank you bikeman
very good fireman.
big dawg do I gotta change the cups??
Bikeman looks like he knows how to party!
ok that metal ring with threads that go on right after the bearings right at the end the one that took the longest to thread. How important is it on how tight you turn it to hold the bearings in? I hand tighten it then taped it with a flathead screwdriver to tighten it? Thank you for your time.
***** thanks
I recently acquired a 1999 Huffy Ironman Bike with the one piece crank, although there are three sprockets. There is a bit too much play so I need to do something. I will probably do something like what you do in the video. But I am just wondering. Is it possible to fit a more modern style bottom bracket in this think and modern crankset? Probably wouldn't be worth the cost (unless I got it all used) but still wondering whether that is an option.
Is there part # for the crank bearing kit? Awesome video man. Hope you get a cable channel tv show? I’m sure you get plenty of crazy action and eye candy at your shop.
sorry, Knox gelletin. BTW, Boeing in Seattle gave away about 200 Workmans to friends of mine, a non-profit bike shop in Tacoma, called 2nd Cycle. They held a workman race they organized in a vacant lot and made ramps and stuff. Man, you really belong in the Bike-Centric Pacific North West, you would be in heaven. There is also a group out there of traveling gypsy cyclists that make a carnival out of bicycles and parts, making rides out of them. Not to mention the annual dead baby downhill bike race in Seattle, which is like a woodstock centered around and after a bike race. bands, free beer, well, you get the idea. My girl does a booze cruise in Tacoma called the Tacoma Mob Riders monthly. If you ever want to travel up Seattle/Tacoma way, give me a shout. I will head you in the right direction. oh, friend me on facebook if you believe in that sort of thing... James Hambly, Costa Mesa, CA.
It helped me so much
Can you tell me what size crankbearing set for huffy 26 beach cruiser
I have a vintage bike that iam not sure what model or how old can u tell me where to look for numbers. Thanks
what is the tool you use to get the lock nut off of the sprocket at the 5 minute mark?
Any alternative methods to removing that piece if you don't have that tool?
