@@crazychase98 I see no reason why that should be the case. Anything that's capable of suffering should not suffer, regardless of what its external appearance is
Actually, as a software tester/instructor, I have to agree with him. The menu said left click to discard the changes and it wasn't doing that. When attempting to change screens, the prompt is telling you that your changes have not been saved. It gives you two options: Left Click to discard or ESC to cancel. If ESC canceled leaving the screen to ensure that you saved your changes, one would presume that Left Click to discard would mean "don't save and leave the menu." Both options did that same thing, took you back to the menu. Revert converts all options to default settings and Tab saves the changes. There is no option to leave without saving. I'm fairly sure, discard is supposed to leave without saving, but does not. That was his point without putting it into understandable language and the developers should change it.
@@ohyea456the discard was not for discard changes but discard the action of advancing without saving i.e canceling/going back. Esc is for when you actually want to leave the menu
Solos a different experience and I really like it on darker, more inhospitable bug planets on higher difficulties. Feels almost like survival horror and managing to cap everything and get out alive is amazing
@Mark-rt1jn I have incredible experiences solo and coop now that some friends dropped into my game. After 4 hours of waiting for the server numbers to drop enough to connect that is.. I couldn't get in until 1am
Your first time in this game reminds me of my first time. There are hellbombs on the map sometimes which are unexploded ordinance that you can set off. And I played with other players who didn't communicate, so I never learned the level/map objectives until way later. The samples collected drop when you die, but you can pick the dropped ones up again where you died. The samples upgrade your ship. If you have a damaged arm or leg the stims fix that too. The door you tried to open and got stuck on requires two people to open. Bullets are reflected by some of the armored bugs, so you have to flank them or set them on fire. Alt dive breaks stun or slow. Yes, grenades go in the bug hole. Every red highlight on the map is a point of interest to complete for a higher score. Change the settings so you don't free run over obstacles and must press what would be jump to step up or climb up. Long reload animations can be cancelled by swapping weapons. I think the rare samples can only be collected in torment 7 or up, but don't go that high until you've got better strategems unlocked. The flamethrower is badass and I always take one into bug levels, try not to kill yourself or your mates with it. All of the sentries and drones will shoot you and your mates if you are between the turret or drone and the target. You can start a mission by yourself, but if you deploy an SOS beacon other players can join you mid mission. One person of 4 on the ship will always be the games host. This game has a lot of clipping issues where you will get stuck inside of the terrain. Sometimes the maps or levels can be bugged or broken and not working properly, so you'll have to leave and start over. The walkers need to be flanked, or you can hit them in the front slot with an explosive weapon twice. The enemies are infinite and there's no score for killing them, so ideally you'll want to move as fast as possible completing objectives and avoiding fights.
They're not. They're all areas that open up when you buy ship modules. Source: I've bought about half the ship modules and all of the "under construction" areas are open for me.
Top down shooter of the first game was fun, but I like this one more because it feels more personal with the 3rd person viewpoint. The fact that you can also scope into 1st person is also a nice touch.
I lost count of how many team members i have killed by accident with the Eagle Cluster. Who the hell runs straight to a breach with an orbital right in the middle? Well... the people i have killed.😂
@@wintesrain the hell? Its clear as day when im playing with my friends, i see mine and the others clearly and they have no problems seeing mine either. When playing online with others i have no problem seeing theirs either. Your comment of me fragging others goes out the window. I hate that shit.
To your comments at the end - there is definitely some aspect of levelling up your guns and gear. I was really hoping you'd unlock and try out the Sentry gun you looked at earlier, but with those as an example: Gattling Sentry is much better than the first Machine Sentry, then there's Mortar Sentry and others - and all these you can upgrade with samples - their cooldowns reduced, more ammo, better aiming and such.
@@Dale-jr7oj No, it is not. It is actually easier to play solo or with one half-competent person than with a bunch of braindead randoms. Also if you are half-decent, any difficulty below 7 (Suicide Mission) is super easy to do solo, as long as you plan and dont try to clear EVERY place on the map.
I'm a little late to comment about this video and probably it will ignored but anyway... The leveling system only unlocks stratagems and that's the key ingredient for the base game, the warbonds unlock gear but not the same as the stratagems and you need medals for that. The core of the game is based on skill and tactic also you can create builds. Depending on your team or the mission itself the stratagems are a key factor for a build creation. Now here's the thing the weapons you get from warbonds do have special features and they're mentioned as passive attributes. My advice, test every weapon in the game (not the stratagems) and then you can get a glimpse of what you want to create. For example, i've create a DOT build in HD2 and works pretty good...
I just want to correct something in the first comment, the weapons in warbonds do NOT mention any special features in the passive attribute. Some will say something in the description of the weapon but the best way is to test them all out
When loading the artillery make sure to load the red HE shells and the black tipped AP shells before the yellow smoke shells. There should be more than enough shells to load it so choosing the right shells is key and knowing what shells are loaded. Itll help. I remember dropping a smoke on a group thinking it would drop an HE lmao
Its worth noting at the time of the recording, there was an issue with a recent update. Each planet has statistics of how many players and such that is happening in real time. The game is dynamic as hell, but wasn't correctly displaying information. They were also at maximum server capacity for like 3 days, so glad he was able to get in to play XD
Demolition man, Starship Troopers and Total Recall for me. Bladerunner and Star Wars if a 4th and 5th were to fit into into the "trinity" (tho that'd be an (un)holy pentagon at that point).
Jesus christ. Watching Asmon play this was like pulling teeth. "Don't tell me what to do!" as he wastes bullets, and only throws one offensive stratagem in an hour and a half.
I spent my first hour with this game getting exterminated solo while attempting to rescue researchers from automatons. Most I managed to evacuate was 7. Tried the 'kill the bugs' mission and passed easily first time. I think those rescue missions might be a bit overcooked considering it was meant to be 'trivial'?
A tip. The automotons also target the people so while they're not on you, you can use their distraction to pick them off. Just spam the shelters to spawn people out. Though even then the rewards don't compare. Did like two solo and said "Nah, bugs it is."
Because those were defend planet missions event, and devs up the rate of spawn. Sometimes, the NPC stuck (bugged) in between platforms and won't get into the building making the whole mission a failure.
They most definitely were. I believe they patched them. Can complete much more easily now. Also check multiple locations to free scientists. Much more easy that way.
I did bugs for the first 4 missions, was able to solo 3rd difficulty pretty easily, but when I went to trivial bots, I got the escort mission and it just didn't work, so I will probably stick to bugs solo lmao.
The game does not scale with the amount of people on the mission, so medium difficulty is medium difficulty for 4 people. It is pretty hard solo. I was able to connect to a few games, but I wasn't able to at all last night. Pray they get those servers up and running soon.
Is this one of those. " i know the game is supposed to be multiplayer and im a new player but im going to play solo and then get mad when its hard or not fun solo?"
no this is the Asmon special of quiet quitting. the stubborn arrogance of knowing hes bad at games, so not playing with people is the best way to play at "his pace" and not getting embarrassed by people who actually know how to play games at even a baseline level of understanding
Your right, bro. Squad play in this game would be nice, I think. But imagine when squad isn't online, or whatever then I think it's getting boring... Squad, I agree!
if they go the anthem route and we can end up flying in some ironman suit with flying bug/automatons/another race... this game might get game of the year
The moment I realized I was going to enjoy this game is when you walk into the area with the friendly and instantly shoot them before listening to the general. This way of showing that friendly fire exists in the game is top tier and seeing Zack do the same thing I did, I am sure all players did the same.
He fumbles killing those bugs with the strat, then instantly blows the humans head off no hesitation. Asmon the Roach king is clearly infiltrating for the bugs.
The machine gun and the stalwart have advantages/disadvantages and both are equally good for different reasons. But to explain first the way enemy armor works in this game is certain weapons have different levels of armor penetration, even if both weapons say "light" armor both can have different levels of light penetration. And if your weapon can't go through the armor the bullet will just bounce right off and do very minimal damage. So with that said, the Machine Gun has higher damage per shot and higher armor pen then the Stalwart, but slower fire rate, worse reload, and less accuracy. Meanwhile the Stalwart has higher fire rate, better accuracy and better reload speed, but less armor penetration and less damage per shot in comparison. So use that information however you want!

Which is likely why Helldivers 2 feels so much more fun. It focused more on that moment to moment gameplay where as the Starship game focused on the tactical squad immersion.

Cant judge a game made for co-op based on the single player experience
its fun alone but way better with people, especially homies

To your comments at the end - there is definitely some aspect of levelling up your guns and gear. I was really hoping you'd unlock and try out the Sentry gun you looked at earlier, but with those as an example: Gattling Sentry is much better than the first Machine Sentry, then there's Mortar Sentry and others - and all these you can upgrade with samples - their cooldowns reduced, more ammo, better aiming and such.

Itll help.

Tried the 'kill the bugs' mission and passed easily first time. I think those rescue missions might be a bit overcooked considering it was meant to be 'trivial'?
Felt that also. I was getting my shit stomped on that rescue mission
