Novice - A mixture of both. In the villages there is record unemployment rate, people living off of welfare, in turn dragging the economy down as we have to support them. Politicians are enabling these people to live in the same environment and conditions, the're even promising better conditions for them and since they're the majority - they're the reason they get voted into power. The politicians are corrupt to the core, we see a new allegation for corruption almost every month, sometimes every week, they're laundering the money they should spend on developing our country. Almost every project takes double the money and time it should because of this practice in most of the construction companies too. Foreign companies are buying land and building their factories here since they're getting a good deal from corrupt politicians and because of this, our internal production is to the ground, we don't import anything despite us being the major grain producers 60 years ago. I can go on forever but this should be a taste of why I will leave this country for a better one, Japan in my case :D.
We had something similar to your mozzarella "corn dog"/donut thing when we were in Seoul, but it had french fries stuck in the batter....it was...an experience...haha yours looked much tastier! 💜🍍
I walked that stretch of Shinjuku for 2 weeks during my visit. I know it very well when I see it... The karaoke place was the first sign I could read after the excitement of getting there wore off. I will never forget that.
Shin-Okubo is great. Stayed right around corner from that Donki there the last time I was in Tokyo. So cool, and so much cheese added to everything there 😄

I've passed one of those stands last week when I was still in Tokyo and although I'm allergic to cheese, the pull of the cheese looked so goooooooood I was almost willing to die trying it.

ㅇㅅㅇJess. I thought it was Shin Okubo. I stayed for two weeks in the 9 hours capsule hotel. Two of the best weeks of my life. I loved every minute I was there.

I actually found the cheese hotdog place today! there are people queueing for so long that they give the people waiting yellow umbrellas! It seems that cheese is super big in the korea town recently.

The cheese thing sounded a lot like mozzarella sticks, which are quite common in America. Just sticks of mozzarella, breaded, and deep fried. They sold them in my high school cafeteria even.

Elle With Food. I would recommend 9 Hours capsule hotel. It is a few minutes walk from the station. A few minutes walk up the road is an onsen. Above the onsen is a laundrette. A few minutes walk from the onsen is a place that has the best Angus steaks. Absolutely delicious. I would recommend having a glass of wine with your steak. A little further up the road is a very beautiful park. It is the Korean district. So there is a lot of Korean food and fashion. It is very busy around 5pm. It is quite close to Shinjuku. Either catch the train ( takes less than a minute), or walk. It is about 15 minute walk to Shinjuku. V.R Zone is quite close and a lot of fun. In Shinjuku I would recommend Mister Donut. Really nice doughnuts, especially during Halloween. Shinjuku Gyoen is one of the best parks in Tokyo. It has a 200 yen entrance fee and is worth it. I could spend all day walking around the park.
TheKaiTetley thanks for the tips! We already booked our accomodation last year and we’re staying in Shinjuku. I am definitely interested in trying the steak you mentioned; I am especially interested in good food :) I usually don’t like doughnuts but I enjoy the ones in Japan so I’ll give Mister Donut a try. I love Shinjuku Gyoen! I’ve been there many times with friends and it is so beautiful. I will definitely be going there again
