Yes please! I am already pretty set on loving 7-11 before ever setting foot in one 😍 but would love to see the other choices, too. Would you advice for a first try of natto to take the maki roll or the normal one in the little pot? I am a bit intimidated by natto. 😅
The only sad thing is that they use plastic in everything including the banana that has its own peel :( (edit: thank you to the people in the comments that mentioned that japan actually recycles everything so it's not as bad to the environment as it seems)
+Purple No they don't they just ship most of it to china like we did in the west but now china has stopped excepting it. That's why the prices have gone up a bit for everything. You pay a lot more for just the packaging in Japan then you do in other countries.
I saw those cups of ice in japan and i had no idea they were for ice coffee, suddenly I see the world another way. Please do more videos like this though, they are incredibly helpful!!!! even if you occasionally did a vegetarian shopping haul or something, I'd definitely watch it. Especially after I learnt the hard way that japan sticks fish in a lot of stuff. I thought I was getting a margarita pizza but it had fish paste under the cheese. I nearly threw up after the first taste. So I used google translate for everything after.
Here in Italy not even pizza is vegetarian 😿 mozzarella and parmesan cheese contain "caglio" ( I think is called animal rennet in english) that is made with veal stomach 😿
A lot of cheese isn’t vegetarian because of rennet - Ive accidentally been eating rennet cheese for years before realising that it wasn’t vegetarian! :(
Love the videos! Quick question: how do you feel about all the plastic packaging in Japan? Sometimes it seems a little excessive (like the banana haha)
absolutely agree that it is excessive. one of the first things i learnt to say in Japanese after i moved here was how to refuse a plastic bag! unfortunately there's a big cultural element there, where the presentation of things is super important.
MIMEI LAND how do you say it? (If You don't mind me asking). Im travelling to Japan next month and this is actually something that's stupidly stressed me out. 😂
Loved this video mimei !! would love to see more of these kind of videos! perhaps you could show us your favourite cheap makeup stores/ fashion / places to eat !?
Okay so last time I went to Japan I’m pretty sure I got this everyday. It’s a cup of veggie sticks and it comes with a dipping sauce. It’s so refreshing and delicious!!!! Definitely a must try if you’re visiting Japan ☺️☺️❤️
Yup on my 3 week trip I’ve had seaweed onigiri at least 5 times and then the Lawson egg sandwich 3 times and kitsune udon cup noodle which I later found out had fish in it. It’s haaaaard haha
Ninah apparently there is. Doctors tell people to drink it but I'm like really. I don't drink coffee but if I don't get something with caffeine I will hurt a person
I don’t know what possessed the makers of the clear latte drink to make it caffeine free. When I saw that it was I put it back into the case. I’ll have to try the nattō roll the next time I’m back in Japan. Thanks for the tips
Usually the manufacturers will make two versions, caffeine and caffeine free. It was strange because you really have to look for the caffeine free notice on the label
omg all the packaging. why is the banana in a plastic bag?? it has a natural protective skin!!!!! And also the cut apple seems a bit strange... just get an apple and cut it yourself ;p (No hate to you mimei, just hate toward convenient stores i guess..)
like mimei said, fruit is hard to get in japan and they don't want to waste good fruit! it's not like here in america where fruit cost about a dollar for a pound of it but you have to pick the good ones
A lot of these things were vegan. Obviously not the smoothie, pizza, ice cream, or latte but the other things were. A lot of the onigiri she mentioned is vegan as well.
It's so helpful they have english on the onigiri labels at 7-11 now - so much easier when you're trying to avoid the fish! I'm thinking we might see more english on onigiri at the other convenience stores with the Olympics coming up.
Sweet Lil Video :3 I must say I lived the konbini food when I visited Japan although im not vegetarian so it was way easier :3 thanks for the great vid
The random, unnecessary meat products hidden in things infuriates me to no end. The other day I picked up a chocolate bread roll from Lawson and was naive enough to assume it was fine. Only after eating it did I read the label and discover that it contained gelatin....gelatin in bread?!?! WHY ??? Needless to say I always make sure to check the label first now. 😅
While I'm neither vegetarian or vegan, I know how hard it is to find foods when you're on a restricted diet. Videos like these are so helpful when you're travelling through or visiting an area, as the locals always know the best spots to eat. I wonder if it would be easier to be eating in temples around Japan due to the Buddhist monks? They're strict vegetarians no?
I used to get my lunch from 7-11 on days where I didn't have time to pack a lunch box and as a vegetarian the struggle was real! I'd mostly get a lil bag of edamame, a plain onigiri and then some chocolate/nuts. They changed the bentos/meals quite regularly but there was never a vegetarian one available the whole time I was in Japan, they'd always have hidden meat 😭
Dude 👏👏👏I love your videos so much!! I like your aesthetic shots and I found this really interesting! I only watched a little bit so far but I know I'm gonna love all of it ! I love food videos and hnN!! Thank you for uploading !!🙌👏👏👌👌❣️💞
Great veggie 7-11 video! 👍👍👏👏👏👏!!!! I'm not a vegetarian but I like Natto and that Pizza looked yummy and... don't even talk to me until I've had my morning coffee- ☕☕. 😊😊
Are there toaster ovens you can use in the 7-11s in Japan? I know in the US, some have toaster ovens and microwaves you can use to heat up food in the store.
flashbacks to my two week vacation in japan - lord was it hard to find veggie stuff (i don’t speak a single word japanese and can’t read the characters either) - i eventually gave up bc there was just random bacon in every vegeterian sounding dish and to top it all of a “mushroom tomato” galette just had random chicken on it. 🙃
Yes could you please do more convenience store videos like with Lawson, Mini Stop and Family Mart? It would also be great if you could show us more vegan ones as I i'm sure there are a lot of us here who would like to eat completely plant based :) thanks :)
Actually I'm a quite "viewer", but I just wanna say that, I'm happy about that you are back:). In some days my boyfriend and I will go to Tokyo and I'm really excited, maybe I will see you there, I mean Tokyo is just a little village right: p. Greetings to both of you from Germany:D.
Tokyo is just a little village which is bigger than 4-5 big german cities together .There are 1400 stations in tokyo metro area and 4000 trains with 42 different lines every day .GDP is 2 times bigger than New York and the area is almost 3 times bigger than New York .Worlds biggest station ,shinjuku there, 3,5 million people use 8 different trains (get on ,off) every day. also 200 exits .Shinjuku ,shibuya ,ikebukuro, harajuku (only west side of tokyo ) 10 million people monday to friday ,much more on the week end. you would get lost as a german peasant if you visit tokyo.
Japan3317 It was just a joke. All what you told me about Tokyo, I know and knew it. Because I'd read a lot of books about Tokyo, I love books and Tokyo
Ana Dean Most of the foreign youtubers who live in tokyo are unable to introduce tokyo and the tokyo metro area in details as well as documentaries that you watch on TV ,because youtubers existence in tokyo is so tiny like ants and they don't have enough time to explore all of the places in tokyo metro area (80 km x 80 km ).One example = it takes about 242 years to go all restaurants in tokyo ( 365 x 242 = 88330 restaurants and about 300 become bankrupt every day).My friend said to me that you are just joking and I knew that, but only wanted to tell you the truth . I have been to Hamburg and Munnich in Germany and those cities were cozy compared to noisy ,busy Tokyo.
Same I am so disappointed and sad because I read in a vegan and vegetarian forum group discussing about this and sadly it's neither vegan nor vegetarian and I survived on that when I went to Japan 😢😭. They can't guarantee it won't be free from fish too and just so frustrating in Japan being a veg
like i mentioned in the video vegan options are SUPER difficult to find. the salad, natto maki, frozen fruit, black coffee, nuts are vegan. things like bread have milk in them, none of the drinks i picked were vegan (i had hope for the almond one but it had traces of milk in it).
Wait they have 7-11 in Japan!?!?!?!?!?!?

PDRさん was the banana really a banana or something Japan used to trick us
You should do a comparison video with Family Mart and Lawson too if you can.
Yes please! I am already pretty set on loving 7-11 before ever setting foot in one 😍 but would love to see the other choices, too. Would you advice for a first try of natto to take the maki roll or the normal one in the little pot? I am a bit intimidated by natto. 😅

(edit: thank you to the people in the comments that mentioned that japan actually recycles everything so it's not as bad to the environment as it seems)
I was thinking the same :/ seems like a lot of plastic waste
My thoughts exactly. Single use plastic in Japan was shocking to me when I went there :s
Yes, but keep in mind that Japan has a HUGE recycling culture, so it’s not nearly as detrimental to the environment as it might be in other countries.
+Purple No they don't they just ship most of it to china like we did in the west but now china has stopped excepting it. That's why the prices have gone up a bit for everything. You pay a lot more for just the packaging in Japan then you do in other countries.
Yeah but Japan is big on recycling, so it's not really an issue.
Always appreciate more vegetarian tips! Thanks Mimei!
I saw those cups of ice in japan and i had no idea they were for ice coffee, suddenly I see the world another way. Ooops
A lot of cheese isn’t vegetarian because of rennet - Ive accidentally been eating rennet cheese for years before realising that it wasn’t vegetarian! :(
I decided to just stop with all dairy. I didn’t drink milk anyway and it was too hard to figure out which cheese was safe so I stopped altogether.
Seriously, the amount of plastic is scary...every little thing is individually wrapped in plastic :(
That banana was bugging me,
MIMEI LAND how do you say it? (If You don't mind me asking). Im travelling to Japan next month and this is actually something that's stupidly stressed me out. 😂
B00rD you can just say tape ga ii desu. And they will stick a bit of tape on it instead of a bag
Loved this video mimei !! would love to see more of these kind of videos! perhaps you could show us your favourite cheap makeup stores/ fashion / places to eat !?
I love Duncan’s commentary!
Okay so last time I went to Japan I’m pretty sure I got this everyday. It’s a cup of veggie sticks and it comes with a dipping sauce. It’s so refreshing and delicious!!!! Definitely a must try if you’re visiting Japan ☺️☺️❤️
Mimeo your makeup is GOALS!!
Yup on my 3 week trip I’ve had seaweed onigiri at least 5 times and then the Lawson egg sandwich 3 times and kitsune udon cup noodle which I later found out had fish in it. It’s haaaaard haha
Coffee without caffeine?? Is there even a point?
Ninah apparently there is. Doctors tell people to drink it but I'm like really. I don't drink coffee but if I don't get something with caffeine I will hurt a person
no thanks, Doc. Same! I don't drink it for the flavour - I drink it to relieve that natural morning zombie look
I love coffee so much, that I tend to drink too much of it. That resulted in daily headaches. Decaf helps me cope ;w;
well I guess if you are allergic to caffeine but still like the taste?
I get bad anxiety with caffeine so I only drink decaf :)
I don’t know what possessed the makers of the clear latte drink to make it caffeine free. When I saw that it was I put it back into the case. I’ll have to try the nattō roll the next time I’m back in Japan. Thanks for the tips
Red October65 maybe for the people who want coffee but due to health reasons can't consume caffinee
Usually the manufacturers will make two versions, caffeine and caffeine free. It was strange because you really have to look for the caffeine free notice on the label
I bought the natto roll out of curiosity when i was in japan and didnt like it :( but at least you have to try it to know 😁
Seems like a better choice than many different flavours of greasy chips and old hot dogs and sandwiches that last several weeks......
That was really informative! Hope to see more of these kind of videos Mimei :)
Yes please! Lawson always has a really good selection♡
Omg, please make this a series!
omg all the packaging. why is the banana in a plastic bag?? it has a natural protective skin!!!!! And also the cut apple seems a bit strange... just get an apple and cut it yourself ;p (No hate to you mimei, just hate toward convenient stores i guess..)
I was wondering the same thing. I could buy a few bananas and a apple for the cost of just the apple without all the packaging.
like mimei said, fruit is hard to get in japan and they don't want to waste good fruit! it's not like here in america where fruit cost about a dollar for a pound of it but you have to pick the good ones
Thank you so much for this video. I am a Vegan and remember trying to find food in Japan . You have a fun and easy personality, great job!
Yeeesss do more store, Im so curious about the different vegetarian stuff available there :O
literally everything you ate was way healthier than I ever will be in my life LMAO
I would love to see a vegan convenience store challenge!
My uncle just bought Chips and Edamame every time xD
A lot of these things were vegan. Obviously not the smoothie, pizza, ice cream, or latte but the other things were. A lot of the onigiri she mentioned is vegan as well.

I love the lip product that you have on!!!!
Sweet Lil Video :3 I must say I lived the konbini food when I visited Japan although im not vegetarian so it was way easier :3 thanks for the great vid
Sai Miyoshi Easier and not terribly expensive.
(Its gmt 2:00 am 😂) I still watch it right after is freshly uploaded! Worth not sleeping!
more of these!!
Do more videos like this! Loved it Mimei 😘💕 xx
The random, unnecessary meat products hidden in things infuriates me to no end. The other day I picked up a chocolate bread roll from Lawson and was naive enough to assume it was fine. Ohhh that's so gross ugh whyyyy lmao
finally weve just seen mimei craving on pizza! 😂 duncan must be happy lololol
I love the way you can get the iced coffee 😱😱😍
While I'm neither vegetarian or vegan, I know how hard it is to find foods when you're on a restricted diet. Omg yes love this! If you can also do Lawson and Family Mart! ❤️
I remember when i was traveling in japan I literally only had the iced coffees and onigiri, it definitely hit the spot though lol
Great video as always! I love you
Yes please go to different conbini!
I loved the sound that the ice pack opening made
today’s my birthday and im legit just watching mimei’s videos
I used to get my lunch from 7-11 on days where I didn't have time to pack a lunch box and as a vegetarian the struggle was real! Have you tried the new clear latte? There's now a matcha flavor, but I have yet to find some at the konbini. I've only seen ads for it on TV.
Dude 👏👏👏I love your videos so much!! I like your aesthetic shots and I found this really interesting! I only watched a little bit so far but I know I'm gonna love all of it ! I love food videos and hnN!! Thank you for uploading !!🙌👏👏👌👌❣️💞
thank you so much! :)
MIMEI LAND no problem !! ❣️💖💗
I would love to see more of these from Family Mart and other stores!
Mimeiさんの動画おしゃれだし、英語の勉強になる!!
Do you get normal bars of chocolate in Japan? Havent seen any in anybody’s elses video
I trunk the Smoothie when i was in japan 3 weeks ago. Love it ~~
Yes! I'd love a Family Mart video :D
This was really helpful! It would be great if you try family mart, thats my favourite haha!
this video was so helpful! i'm planning to go on exchange to japan next year :))
id love to see you try this challenge at other convenience stores! i thought this was really cute.
Yes please do Family Mart and Lawson next!
Do a vegan one of these plss
i mean, i went to 7-11s in singapore and malaysia and it's literally impossible to find vegan food there, so... good luck with that lol
I need this for when I go to Japan
Nice! Would def wanna watch a Family Mart version. :)
Oh my gosh the BTS Love Yourself albums in the background yessss
The 711s in Japan seem luxurious compared to American 711s. The sealed ice cups threw me off!! We just use the fountain ice lol
Maritza De La Pena yeah
Natto usually is fermented with fish or / and gelatin, it is very rare to find vegan / vegetarian ones, so be careful
flashbacks to my two week vacation in japan - lord was it hard to find veggie stuff (i don’t speak a single word japanese and can’t read the characters either) - i eventually gave up bc there was just random bacon in every vegeterian sounding dish and to top it all of a “mushroom tomato” galette just had random chicken on it. 🙃
How easy would it be to eat from convenience stores without having loads of plastic wrapping?
It’s been so cold and miserable middle north of nz. And the apples are doing ok :D.
I lived of conbini food for a week last year I feel you, gurl! I didn‘t check the ingredients list too closely but I thought the bento Soba are vegan.
that chocolate is dark or milk one?
Is the cheese on the Pizza vegetarian? Because some cheese are not.
Please do more! I've been watching a lot but like you said almost everything has meat in it...
Yes, please do a family mart version :D !!! I'm not vegetarian but it can be helpfull for my friends visiting Japan :D thanks
I would definitely like to see another one of these videos but maybe next time with the prices...i dunno why but i like to know the price of things
theres cut apple oMG AMAZING
Yes could you please do more convenience store videos like with Lawson, Mini Stop and Family Mart? It would also be great if you could show us more vegan ones as I i'm sure there are a lot of us here who would like to eat completely plant based :) thanks :)

Sadly, the kombu onigiri is not vegetarian anymore :( Apparently, they added some type of extract(i think it was fish but I am not sure).
I did this but vegan for three weeks lol surprisingly easy!
I love videos like this
Lol a banana wrapped up. It must be the best damn banana you can ever try😂😂
Any vegan options?
like i mentioned in the video vegan options are SUPER difficult to find. the salad, natto maki, frozen fruit, black coffee, nuts are vegan. things like bread have milk in them, none of the drinks i picked were vegan (i had hope for the almond one but it had traces of milk in it).
I'm not vegan but i love your videos! and food!! imma ~stop by family mart later
Maybe try from Lawson's 100?
What's the music at the end?
Please do a Vegan one!!!
If you could try to make vegan challenge in conbini that would be great :)
Her lipstick stayed on after that banana. I'm amazed.
Please do the same thing at Lawson!!!~^^
Do you eat gelatin??
I'm just admiring the BTS "L.O.V.E.Y.O.U.R" albums in the background the the intro... *drools*
Lol i imagined they did this many times a week. Who's cooks by the way? Duncan or Mimei?
I appreciate this ma’am
Try family Mart!!
Your necklace is so cute!! :) Where did you get it?
Can you do an Onigiri taste test/challenge
Lawson next please!
Yes Family Mart!!!
Can you do a video about ware you work love your videos so much ❤️
Kriya The weeaboo I believe Mimei purposely avoids talking about work. Stalkers and what-not. Not to mention many jobs wouldn't like it.
Oh man, I wish they had that mango bag here. I’d be on that all the time.
More please
I'd love to see the prices of all the food to get a feeling for the cost of living in japan :)
Hows Japan acting environmentally with all those little packagings though? I've always wondered
More!
Woah, this stuff is really cool!! I wish you could find this kind of stuff elsewhere.
7-11 seem so much better in Japan than here in the US. The food looks good. I ate from a dollar store for more than 24 hours partly cause I am broke
