VHS video taken at Pocono Raceway on September 26th 1982. To honor driver John Paul Jr. car number 48 who passed away to soon on December 29 2020 (age 60).
Corvette #13 is my godfather. My dad ended up racing that same greenwood corvette from 83' to 86'. it use to sit in my garage and i would get in it and pretend i was racing. Subsequently my dad also drove mustang #05 co-driving in the longer distance events
Shame John Paul Sr became a most wanted fugitive and his son was criminal too but only served months in jail for refusing to comply with the testimony against his dad. Unlike Sr, JPJ gets a second chance among Motorsports fans.
Nice ! It was the first year for the Jaguar XJR5 (Bob Tullius' team Group 44) which appeared at Le Mans two years later.
Very cool, thanks
