  • Our, Samuel & Evas (seciao), daily Moka Pot essential! It's a passion we've been sharing together for years, learned to refine our coffee skills last year (still an ongoing learning process) and now, we invite you to a Schlaraffenland of coffee flavour and smell. In this video, we are going to share our current expertise with you.
    The grinder we use: 1Zpresso Q2 S
We got if of Amazon for 110€.
(Our model just has an older handle)
Samuel, also called crazy-spacy Sam (He got this name from a barista, when we explained him that we make some kind of Specialty coffee in the Moka Pot), will break down to you - how we prepare, grind and brew our coffee.
As well as the tiny hidden tricks with which you will instantly spice up the taste experience or make it worse. Coffee is also about taste. This is where Eva will talk about the difference between cold and warm coffee.
So with that said, make yourself comfortable, grab a warm or cold drink and enjoy.

    Love this type of content!
I do enjoy a nice french press coffee with my girlfriend once in a while, but I don't mind a good old electrical machine coffee for my daily routine. But I also feel like, just like with cooking, after putting in some work like setting up the french press, instead of just pressing a button, the coffee automatically tastes better 🫡

      Thank you so much!
That's the way :D Nothing against a good old electrical machine coffee. Actually you can make fancy filter coffee too! Have you tried something like the Chemex or V60 Filter yet?
French press video will also come soon :)

Hi there, I have a few questions :)
    1) Where did you get that grinder for 110 euros haha? Any link?
    2) Do you ever get sweet coffee from moka pot with specialty beans? I am trying to kick milk and sugar from my coffee drinking routine.
    3) Did you notice a drastic difference (improvement) in coffee taste after you started grinding the (specialty?) beans by yourself? I am currently buying pregrounded Lavazza and Illy coffee and they taste ''ok'' without sugar and milk, but nowhere near ''great, delicious, full of aroma'' etc. Mostly bland and bitter sometimes.
    4) Have you tried other techniques/devices like Aeropress, V60?
    Cheers!

Hey, thank you for your in-depth questions!
      1) We bought it of Amazon, just search "1Zpresso Q2 S", it's the exact same grinder expect of a newer handle.
      2) Yes and no. We experienced the wildest flavour differences to commercial coffee with a "Colombia El Paraiso" and a "Ethiopia Guji". They come out with such different flavours that they separate very strongly from standard coffee wich makes them taste less bitter in a way. There're so many new and different flavours to experience.
We sometimes also sweeten our coffee a bit. With specialty coffee we found that very little additional sugar is needed to enhance the experience. We only use organic brown sugar or "Demerara-Sugar". In general the Moka Pot coffee is a very strong one. Adding a bit of water to make it more like an americano could also be very pleasent for you.
      3) Definitely an improvement! It's very beneficial to have fresh and EVEN ground beans. If you get a preground coffee that has many different grind sizes, meaning uneven ground powder, the particles will all brew differently. That strongly effects aroma and bitterness. Also, immediately after grinding most of the best aroma and oils will oxidise and be lost after a few minutes. Storing pre ground coffee thus is pretty bad, which most likely reflects your bland experience in taste.
      4) At home we only used the Mokka Pot, French Press, the classic filter machine and an automatic coffee machine. Aeropress and V60 are definitely high up on our list.
We hope that helped you out a bit! Let us know if you have any other questions! :)
