Just not the employees that got stuck lmaoo. Huge paycheck but stressful as heck. - from a current target employee

That's true.
Kudos to target employees
Well, the employees were just as stuck too.

I love how the news people just completely overlooked that little detail! 🙄
(But target was a better option)
They need to say the name of the grocery store.
But these people were stupid to try to drive. Blizzards like this are very normal in that area and only idiots try to travel in it.
I’m disgusted too! They could’ve died. Imagine being on the other side of the glass and just shaking your head no to a family coming inside during a blizzard! Sorry! What a-holes
@@paigeherrin29 I’m not gonna lie but it seem they didn’t want to be responsible for their well being but either way poor judgment of them. Target on the other hand did the right thing by allowing them in and letting them stay over night.
Maybe they grocery store was shutting down and leaving the building? Who knows. Why don't you judge this silly mother for putting her family at risk and driving during a major storm ? She's the one who messed up badly
Shame on that grocery store for refusing to let this stranded family in during a treacherous blizzard. Thankfully the Target employees had compassion and humanity. 💫
What a wonderful story , God bless Target employees that let you in

My wife lives at Target too 😄

I'm so impressed by the generousity and bravery of the Target managers and employees. Sometimes corporate offices don't think highly of their employees making a command decision to value life over profit. Whatever the financial cost to Target the management and employees gave Target advertising that they will benefit from for a long time. I know that I will be looking at Targets online shopping for some of my next purchases. And shame on the store that wouldn't let people in.
I agree!
Really not a Target Shopper, I just placed online order, instead of Amazon. Thank you Target.

I think target should give those employees a raise or at least a bonus for helping those ppl who needed a place to stay. That is so sweet of them. Hope they made it home safe to their own families and onto a great new year
Great (and free) PR for the company! They deserve a bonus of some sort.
Target wouldn’t be a bad place to be stuck at.

those kids are gonna have one heck of a story to tell when they get older! Glad yall made it.
They’ll have one heck of a story when they go back to school after the holiday “What I did on my Christmas Vacation”
There’s no way in heck I’d take my kids out with a blizzard warning, but I’m glad they’re ok. Good thing the store didn’t lose power, too.
Stores have generators
My wife and I checked the weather forecast and decided to put off driving to vist family after the bad weather passed. Being stuck at home beats getting stuck on the road.
Thats the smart thing to do, well done. However many people these days are brainless. They go out knowing bad weather is coming then use emergency services to bail them out when they get stranded.
Beats dying in the cold for no reason other than "I wanted to visit my family for Christmas " then wind up dead
I wish more had made that wise choice.

In a lot of places there was even a driving ban.
Humans are silly af
Its called fatigue, complacency and maybe something similar to "calling wolf". Its not an excuse but its easy to see. Like this woman, my family saw many hurricanes. So much so that sometimes they don't take Cat 3s seriously anymore. Cat 4 just means get drunk and party harder in that dark shell (post Andrew building code). Maybe a Cat 5 ok. Then we moved to Texas (they use wood to build the house lol) got a Cat 2 that at worst was a Cat 1 at our location but it scared us all night. The stupidest thing was during Harvey. Macho man of the family turned his truck into a submarine. Luckily it did not get stuck and he didn't drown but 9 months later $$$ to repair an alternator (some cars bizarrely keep alts at the bottom of the engine block, more $$$ for labor hours). Corroded to hell. Last part is the news. They drum up everything. So much so no one cares any more. When was the last time anyone really paid attention to those child alerts that blare on the phone. Your first instinct is to swipe that crap off before you blow your ear drums. So ya I totally see who this can happen.
Target had the same notice and still made employees go to work.

@@tarabooartarmy3654 getting a family member!!!!! Could have been a power outage or too cold for them where they were.
@@sabre5807 But they’ve had warning this was coming for days. They could have done it any time earlier. Just seems awfully risky to get out in something like this. Even if they had a power outage and didn’t have the forethought to have a backup heating supply like a kerosene heater or propane heater (which is crazy with something like this on the way) why put EVERYONE at risk just because one person wasn’t prepared? Hey, at least in Walmart there would have plenty of people to display the latest in pajama fashion so you wouldn't have been bored.
If customers weren't trapped in Walmart, it would have been one gigantic pajama party. I'd rather go out in a blizzard of the century than be stuck in Walmart full of their nasty customer's......and, YES, I work at Walmart!

There was another news story a few days ago of 100 people who got stuck at a local Walmart overnight during a bad winter storm.
Thank God that Target allowed these people to come in. They saved their lives. Shame on that Grocery store that didn't let them in.
In some that worked out better. Target had inventory used for bedding and other comforts while the grocery store only had food. But of course there was no guarantee that they would find a place after the grocery store turned them away.
She should have checked the forecast. The blizzard was forecast for days with accuracy down to the hour.
God bless Target for opening their doors ❤ 🙏
a grocery store said no to them! WHAT THE HELL!
Love that the employees were more concerned with people safety than their jobs WTG ❤️🎯❤️🎯❤️🎯

Don't drive when you know the worst winter storm in years is imminent.
Right on target. They new head time and could have had there home stocked and ready to go. We humans can be scary at times.

They should've mentioned what grocery store that was while they were on live TV so the public would know.
The grocery store was probably locking up for the night. Cant blame the grocery store because these idiots got themselves into a pickle
@@williamkreth You are right. Was listening to a platform. The host stated what we all should do when knowing any dangerous storms are on the horizon. Be PREPARED especially if given weeks in advance...
So the reporters didn't think to ask why she chose to drive in a snow storm that was forecasted days in advance to be hitting their area? Doesn't make any sense. This woman has poor judgment.
If you listened she already said they were trying to hurry and pick up family members and grab last minute items. You can feel however you want about their decision but she already explained why
They were picking up family for Christmas (terrible reasoning on their part) they could have easily died if it wasn't for target.
@William Kreth Right. And who insists on traveling when they know a bad storm is coming? Illogical. So thats why they almost could have died.

Terrifying…yes, but also wasn’t this put out on the news for days before? What did people really think a blizzard meant? So nice of target employees to be able to house these people, even though this kept them from their families as well.
They were warning people for an entire week before it happened. Anyone caught up in it messed up badly on their part for not listening to the many storm warnings that were in place
Allowing these people indide didn't keep them from their families as the employees were already stranded.

So, HOW is this a “Problem.”
They have bed’s 🛌 , couches, dinner table’s, chairs, T.V., Movies 🍿, Actual FOOD 🍲, and THEN snack’s. Water, and drink’s. And if that wasn’t enough ….. they have ⛺️ tents for privacy, grills to cook with, AND solar item’s in case there is NO “power” …… (I know this, because this is where, I purchased mine!)
Heck, this may actually be a “blessing in disguise.” For them.
Can't believe the grocery store turned you away!! How heartless is that?
To the manager who said No....think about it, what if it was your family, and you couldn't get home from work. Would you want someone to help them?
Think, it could be Jesus at the door, or Mary and Joseph!
They'll be alright. They have food, blankets & more. The news forecasters kept warning everyone that the blizzard was coming.
The way I see the photo of the frozen doors, it reminds me of what happened at my work on December 19th 2022
We didn't get hit by a storm, we had a broken water pipe during the Extreme Cold Temperatures (it was around -20'C with a Windchill that felt like -40'C)

Also look into Biolite Emergency Lighting Systems, Emergency Backup Electrical, Gas, or Solar Generators, have a small stockpile of Emergency backup ration food and a way to cook it off the grid even if its just heating up water to add to dehydrated food, for when the power and heat go out. Look into purchasing the larger and heavier thick blankets that are like $150-$250 from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. More and More adults and parents need to start thinking more about Emergency Preparedness for your homes and vehicles because it could save you and your family to include protecting your wallet. For every $1 spent in Preparedness Planning, Products, or both, you will save yourself somewhere in the realm of $4-$16 range in damages and recovery fees after the disaster is over with. When is it to late to Prepare during or after the disaster! I was a Logistical Supply Sergeant in the Army for 9/13 years with 3 deployments under my belt, to include working with FEMA and Red Cross Reps in Liberia Africa for 3 months and conducting 2 different college research papers on the subject of Emergency Preparedness Management, so you can say I know a lot about Preparedness!
