Imagine what this tribe would be like with good writing
These guys would be tough , terrifying or just hilarious and I can’t say which
They can alternate between all three!
Well, then leave the writing to me!
...I dunno how or when to start, but Chima is a great setting to toy with writing and more mature stuff!
@@precascer8221 My friend was also writing a Chima story lol....
Edit: My friend was basically writing a Chima story almost completely changed. it does follow the same path, with the lion vs crocs, outlands and fire vs ice, but they're going to develop and give new cultures to already existing tribes, add more (sensical, not edgy) drama... basically a wild world, but not really. Its going to have more war and psychological (?) subjects. They just started writing it though. Unfortunately, they can't develop all tribes, so if they succesfully release the story and it gets traction, maybe they'll add the missing tribes and develop them. But they wont be there initially for time's sake.
Maybe for the dessert skimmer’s chi crystals spot be attached to the driver fully commit to the idea that the driver and vehicle become one where the driver is powering the vehicle
Nick, somehow your turning Chima's hate into a mild curiosity.
I think my favourite is the desert skimmer. It's really clever how the driver's tail becomes the vehicle's tail.
What also impressive is how much Ninjago provides in terms of inspiration. I hadn't realized before, I think I've spotted this because you included some Atlantis, Pharaoh's Quest, Galaxy Squad and Marvel sets as possible source of inspiration. I guess given how long Ninjago has been around it makes sense that a good chunk of original, inspiring builds would come from it!
“Scrap ton” is a really fun phrase
I still remember how absolutely HYPED I was when leaks of a Bat tribe hit the web in 2013. Even before wave 2, I was imagining what my favorite animal would look like as a Chima tribe. Looking forward to the next vid Nick, and excellent job with these MOCs!
I’m absolutely LOVING these china mods nick! Modding other sets from other themes to fit the aesthetic is such a fantastic idea, and I love how fleshed out and epic you’re making the world of Chima feel!
A I find it funny how the last trip of chima, to appear in any media license by lego, literally didn't have anything
That little bike for the scorpion is amazing this way, I own the ninjago version, so that the first moc I am gonna be trying to rebuild
It is awesome
Which one? The Outland Bike or the Desert Skimmer?
@@NickonPlanetRipple I think he's talking about the skimmer
@@NickonPlanetRipple the desert skimmer, if you care, both look amazing, the outland bike is awesome, I just don't feel like building it, mr.E is one my favourite minifigs of the last decade, if not my favourite, so I don't want to take his bike away maybe I buy another one, but I really don't know if I am actually to do it, because most of time I want to buy but a) the second hand price is large or I forgot about
I wanted to buy the monster burger truck to rebuild your mod, but I never did
@@thecaptainslog9581 you are right
But ... Eh I am female lol
@@n_ex13 oh shoot, sorry, haha
The Scorpion Tribe has always been one of my favorites in terms of design, particularly Scorm. I wish they weren't so goofy in story, because these guys have so much style and presence!
Also, I love how the Skimmer resembles a single scorpion claw just as much as a full-sized scorpion.
I was first introduced to this channel through the train’s episode of Lego rewind, and I’ve loved your content ever since. It’s great to see all of these custom Mocs you have built. Keep going with the amazing content :)
Nick, there's a family of scorpions in here!
I call the gauntlet one Scrungo.
Scorm's Scorpion Stinger is a set I've had on my want list since it came out, and you're making it really tempting to finally get it, Nick!
Anyways, the Scorpions were always one of my favorite Chima tribes, and I'm really happy to see how you upgraded their ranks. Even in 2014, I had wanted to see the Outland's story and sets extended (Though Fire & Ice was a great next step in retrospect) I could honestly see these two vehicles being part of a second wave, they're that good!
Thanks again for the great content, Nick! And please, take a break after Dark Tribe Month if you feel you need to. I'm more than happy to wait for your content, it's always worth it, no matter how long!
Desert skimmer looks like perfect claw for bulked up Stinger, if it had those old "detach part and use as separate vehicle" gimmick.
But Even on its own it looks really good.
Man, as much as I'm not a fan of Ninjago as a theme, sets are amazing to cannibalize and convert.
Inspired by your series I've looked at some of the mechs, and now I'm trying to convert Zane's mech into bulked up version of that combiner model from first year of Exo Force.
I like thinking that once a child is born in the Chima tribes, a child is born, and doesn't exactly need to have Chi embedded into them or a necklace like some of the figures show, until a certain age, where they make a pilgrimage to the Lion Kingdom to collect the Chi to make into necklaces for the ones who have become adults. It's a little piece of lore that I made up to justify the chi necklaces.
I wish LEGO made buildable figures for the scorpions, spiders, and bats. They made buildable figures for the Ice Tribe, why not the Dark Tribe. I feel like CCBS lends itself well to the look of arthropods.
I made a scorpion named Scorgot and thought “Y’know, what if he’s the substitute king, the second in Command” I scrolled through bricklinks ninjago sets for a vehicle for Scorgot and thought of his personality. Considering none of the other dark tribes have a caped character, he could be an overly Eccentric scorpion. Another thing is that while he may be Scorms right hand man, he’s an Outland citizen first and foremost. He allies with who the majority of the Outland people ally with. I didn’t find anything on bricklink, but found his new ride at Walmart: The 2020 Jedi Interceptor. I removed the Astromech port, removed the windshield, slung Scorgot further back, added claws to the front, a tail, replaced the flaps in the back with bat wings, colour swapped, and added a small glass of whatever Wine is in chima. Definitely fits Scorgots eccentric, overconfident, Superiority complex having personality.
Man i'm so in love with these videos i just rewatch every episode like 10 times a month. The inspiration and fulfilment with which Nick talks about models just amuses me and I listen to every word carefully so that I would not lose any epithets or puns. Ty Nick, you're doing a fantastic job
Love the MOCS but thank you so much for Lego rewind. I’ve missed genuine heartfelt content on RUclips for so long. I hope you get to focus on your graphic novels more but seriously man thank you for your dedication.
Thank you. And don't rule out future Rewinds just yet! My next Rewind episode will focus on Dragons. Not the Mega kind, though.
All of these videos are so inspiring, now I want to make my own scorpion tribe vehicle
I love these videos it has inspired me to create a more vehicles for the bull clones from monkie kid to make their army more intense
That modded bat scuttler looks absolutely amazing I cannot wait to see it
Your skorpion bike is so cool !! Love the ratling blades, such a cool feature !
Oh and the sound of the thread-bike is just so good too, really emphasis the biker-gang aura you went for the skorpion tribe !
You’re reeeeeaaaally making me want to build those outland bikes 😭
The small army builder vehicle even looks kinda like a speedorz
imagine having two desert stingers and using them as pinchers for a large mobile base, that can detach.
only channel i've ever turned notifications on for- your work is so high quality i'd hate to miss it, love seeing these mod videos for such a great theme
All the mods and mocs you make are simple yet great. Good work, can't wait to see more!
I love your openings it’s giving me vhs vibes for some reason
Great builds! I enjoyed listening to your thought process on the design choices of the vehicles. Really nailed the aesthetic of the scorpions!
The Scorpions is my favourite tribe
I’m not first
I’m not last
But when Nick Posts
I fast
oooh, a Scorpion Tribe vehicle moc that could work too imo is the Power Miners' Claw Catcher
I love the scorpions and I consider all these vehicles cannon
Ah I love me some nick on planet ripple mod
I love how you mod sets for under developed tribes in chima could you try to mod something for any of these tribes who have one or no vehicles.
Rhinos
Tigers
Leopards
Gorillas
Bears
Some of them. You’ll see.
Love your videos man!
I would love to see your take on the Lego Classic 90th Anniversary Tahu as I know that you love Bionicle.
What I enjoyed chima for more than ninjago is that the vehicles felt more relevant to the faction, rather than a couple of random cars with the faction's motif. The crocs had deadly ambush vehicles, the lions and wolves had fast, heavily armed assault vehicles, the eagles had nimble vehicles that would swoop in, the mammoths had heavily armoured 'bulldozers'. These factions all had vehicles tailored to their character. Unlike ninjago, which would quite literally converted from random cars like with the snakes and ghost warriors. There were some exceptions like the skeletons and pirates, however, I doubt there would be more since nowadays, there would be no room for a well-round arsenal as there only a couple villain sets per wave nowadays.
Heck, even between similar niches you see each tribe's "style." Lion vehicles are raised off the ground and look square-shaped from above. Tiger vehicles are low to the ground and triangle shaped, very front-loaded. Crocs are flat and broad, etc. I was VERY choosy about which templates I converted for which tribe, especially the Scorpions and Bats who each only give us one vehicle to go by.
"I can't tell if that's their armour or their naked bodies, I prefer to to think the later". Okay nick I didn't need to know that.
LOL
Now I think it. Your modding of side bike. Not only looks like scorpion, but like claw. A single sharp claw.
Fun lil fact about scorpions the smaller they are the more deadly they are X3
If you made another one of the tracked vehicles, you could build in a detaching feature from the main scorpion, because they look a lot like claws. Maybe some flip out claws underneath that can replace them?
It's fun seeing your mocs and going through the process of how you built them and why. it's especially interesting to me because you actually plan stuff out properly, unlike me who just finds some parts they want to work with and just goes ham building whatever (Just an example: my latest moc is a hybrid between an Ice Planet 2002 ship and an Aquashark's sub because of wanting to build with a lot off trans orange and not having enough blue or black bits left)
Anyway actual question now: do you ever go fully original or do you just like adding to stuff (it's valid either way, I'm just curious)
I mostly like adding to stuff. I only have so much space for spare pieces.
@@NickonPlanetRipple Hey you make really good stuff, seen the teaser for the bat tribe and I'm really looking forwards to it.
Cant wait for the bat tribe scuttler
You can see it right now on Patreon, a week early.
Dam you got everything set up
I miss chima :(
I would love if you could one-day possibly just give us an entire description of your Chima AU
@@firestorm2214 maybe that could be its own video.
Good content
Have you realized the head reminds me of predator mask helmet revealed.
Yeah, but.... everyone's been saying that since 2014, so I didn't think I should point it out.
awesome
the tail thing was also a issue for the lego narutoe snakes too
Mammals and stuff arent very cool to me, so my favorite tribes were the crocodiles and scorpions. I was also one of the people hoping they would reuse Atlantis parts for ocean tribes...
SCORPION
then their base would likely be a scorpion-shaped garage
I would really like to see you try to create a MOC of the Golden Weapon Vehicles from Ninjago season 1, in a much more accurate way like in the show...
I see the desert skimmer as a scorpion claw,2 of them cam follow the main bike as "remote controled" weapons kinda like how some mobile suit in gundam have mind controled weapons
Genius.
@@NickonPlanetRipple idk if you keep up with gunpla/gundam news but do you know the sazabi FF? It also reminds me of that
Just an idea but I think would be interesting if you tried taking tremor’s vehicle from ultra agents and turn it into something for the gorilla tribe
Love it.
Jak 3 music 👀
If you could add you're own tribe into the world of Chima, what would it be?
Dinosaur tribes or sea creature tribes.
How did you get so many silver scorpions
2:29-2:32
Gee, that name sounds familiar, doesn’t it? ;)
thank goodness someone else noticed it
Yeee
@@bagea There's another deep-cut reference in this video. Let's see who finds it first.
@@NickonPlanetRipple 0.0
The wolf tribe is like one of the main tribes and have nothing
The wolf tribe has a truck, a bigger truck that separates into a fleet of smaller vehicles, some polybags.... I dunno, I'd say the wolves are doing pretty well.
@@NickonPlanetRipple Yeah. And the best part is that their big truck (more like tank honestly) is their lair! The wolves are nomads! Amazing worldbuilding for a lego set.
Any updates on when we could see the Pt3 to your “ infamous Spider-Man”?
I don’t know…
Can you give the instuctions pls
are you going to do the monkie kid wave 3 overview?
Probably not. Making a video these days like that would impact my health too much. I just can't do it like I used to. I will have something to say about it in a future video though.
Evean the crocs missing there tails
When will we get the next monkie kid megareview ?
Probably never. Just producing videos like this is almost too much for me. Making a full Megareview now would probably kill me.
How did you do skorms Tail?
It’s axle-compatible. Yeah, I never knew either ‘til I checked.
Unrelated but my dogs name is scrungo
hi
Tutorial?
Do you take build requests?
Most likely no.
No.... these builds only look good if I'm genuinely inspired and passionate about them. Suggestions maybe, like if I'm stumped and looking for a good template for something, but that's about it.
I don't know if you've mentioned this because I just thought of something after watching this video a day ago so I totally forgot most of what happens besides the mods you made but can you try giving the monkie kid demon bone set a mod to become the scorpion castle.
I.... uhhhh..... I'm not good with structures. I'm more of a vehicle kinda guy.
@@NickonPlanetRipple Funny, me too. I'm not good with bases, houses or other things like that. I'm better at mecha, vehicles and animals.
@@Autisticguywithacamera I think it's the constraction nerd in me. Vehicles just feel slightly more alive.
@@NickonPlanetRipple yeah I'm only good at making mechs sometimes vehicles but making buildings are so hard.
